Probably, but the moment, it really didn't feel like it. Not to Riptide. He honestly didn't know why this was a cause of such stress -- of course, HawkClan would still accept him. He'd come back and everything would fall right into step. Tumultstar would welcome him, the old bastard, and Dacnomaniacalvictory would dip her head and give him a one or two word homecoming that would be worth a thousand words and he'd see Danijel's familiar margay form. He'd see his children and all the familiar faces of his Clanmates. Salixcloud, Harrierbeat, Jay, Chast, Patchy, Spor, Noir, and all the others who'd stuck with HawkClan for his whole life.
He'd see the beach, too -- that was one of the most exciting things. The water. While it looked nice as a crystalline blue, Riptide loved it even more when it was dark and gray, tossing restlessly and the wind blowing his messy fur and the waves crashing endlessly. Unpredictable, with a refreshing cold and the clean air tumbling off the water. That was what he missed. While days spent entirely sunbathing were sweet and he hoped to return to them, he adored the gray-black water even more.
The russet tom hesitated as he stood on the border. Was he even still a member of HawkClan? He'd better wait and see. He seated himself down, heart no less calm as he strained to look through the trees for anybody who might greet him. Mountains and a life of wandering had been pleasant, but it was time to return home.
