Wishfur's head peeked out of her den, "There's a fox on our territory, Dawnear's hurt."

Spottedstar reared onto her hind legs and slashed at the fox's tail. "Leave and don't come back!"
The fox ran out of the territory.

"Wishfur! Come and treat Stonefrost first, then Mistfire, I want the ceremony done today. and she should be well enough to begin!"

Wishfur came out of her den, dock and horsetail hanging from her mouth. She walked over to Stonefrost and beckoned Mistfire with her tail. Wishfur's nose twitched as she scented Stonefrost, stopping on the deepest scratch: a bite mark on her back. She nodded and grabbed the horsetail, starting on a poultice. She licked it into the bite softly, then began with the dock in the shallow wounds.

Wishfur quickly finished, nodding to Spottedstar, and began the process on Mistfire.
Spottedstar jumped onto the rock in the center of camp. "Let all those old enough to hunt their own prey, gather to hear what I have to say!"

"Hawkkit has met her sixth moon, it is time for her to become an apprentice. Hawkkit, until you recieve your warrior name you shall be known as Hawkpaw" Spottedstar nodded at the kit. "Stonefrost, you have been a valuble addition to the clan, and I know you will pass all you can to Hawkpaw."

"Hawkpaw! Hawkpaw!" Dawnear and Wishfur shouted, Spottedstar looked on with pride.

OOC: Sorry Cosmic Waffle, but I was planning to have Stonefrost be Hawkkit's mentor since Hawkkit joined, instead, Dawnear will be Coalpaw's.

"Congrats, Hawkpaw," Dawnear said, padding over. "I'll see if I can get Stonefrost to let Coalpaw join you. For now," She continued, "Do you want me to teach you the hunting crouch? You'll impress Stonefrost." She added.

[They purr] "Okay, so, Coalpaw you watch me to! Anyways, it looks like this;" Dawnear dropped into the crouch, and slowly, pawstep by pawstep, moved forward. She stopped, and then leaped forward. She turned to the apprentices, "Now, I just want you to try the crouch I did at the beginning."

Dawnear purred, "Great job Hawkpaw! But try making a little less noise; a mouse will feel it, and run. So we'd loose prey."

"Now, Coalpaw, I want you to go into the crouch, and stay still so I can help."

Dawnear looked at Hawkpaw, "Great! Now, I think my apprentice needs a bit of help. Give me a moment to help Coalpaw, then I'll show you something else."

Dawnear intently watched her apprentice, "Okay I think I see the problem: You need to put you backlegs in, if you have them dragging behind you it's hard to move. Then, try moving slowly, but fast enough to catch something, that will make you quieter. Just speed up as you jump." She nodded. "Try again."

Spottedstar walked over to her warrior, "What's wrong Mistfire?"

Wishfur poked her head out of her den, "Mistfire! Come over here, I need to add something to your dressing!" Spottedstar turned, "Never mind," and padded into her den.

Dawnear nodded to her apprentice, "Much better, but go again." She sat down and licked her paw.
Wishfur looked at Mistfire's wound, "Good," she said,"It's stopped bleeding, but I think a change of horsetail, comfrey, and a poppy seed will help you sleep." She leaned forward and liked the poultice off of the wound, a new one, already made, was sitting on a leaf nearby.

Dawnear turned to Hawkpaw, "Okay, while Coalpaw does that I'm going to show you how to stalk a bird." She dropped into the crouch again, but her hid legs were pushed up more. She moved forward faster than before, and she only moved a few pawsteps, jumping mush farther and higher. High enough to catch the bird if it was flying away.

Wishfur, fianally getting the rest of the horsetail off, pulled the leaf towards her. She lapped some of the new poultice up, and licked it into the wound. After that she went to the wall and stuck her paw in, bringing it out with a yellow flower. She began silently rubbing it into the scratch.

Dawnear purred, "You don't have to stretch your legs as far as I do, Coalpaw, why don't you show her."

Wishfur stopped her task, "There, I'm done. Come back for a poppy seed when you want to sleep."
