Breezewhisker paused on his walk, and peered into the leaves of a tree just inside the border. Something caught his eye, but he wasn't sure what it was. "Wait here." he ordered, and started to slowly make his way up the trunk. Finally he reached the area that he had noticed, and saw that it was a bird nest. There was three little eggs in it, and no mother bird in sight. The tom looked around, expecting to be attacked by a furious mother bird at any moment.
    ---
Squirrelheart watched the deputy climb up the tree, silently believing that she could have made it up the tree faster. She kept her eyes on a patch of his fur, wondering why he decided to climb up.

"7... 8... 9... 10! Here I come!" Jonie barked, and uncovered her eyes. "Hmm..." she murmured, peering at a wavering bush. The kit stalked towards it and suddenly thrust her head inside. She was half-glad to find nothing there; if Latie was there, then the game would be over. But she was a competitive fox, and wanted to find her. She came out of the bush and squinted her eyes around the campgrounds.

Jonie heard quick pawsteps, and she whipped around. But there was nothing there. After a few hearbeats, she decided to check the nursery, and hurried inside. She sniffed all the corners and all along the outside of the nursery, but Latie wasn't to be found. Next, she checked the Herb Fox's den, but no kits were there. "Hmm..." she murmured again.

She had been checking behind the fighter's den when Latie called out. Jonie looked up in surprise and barked jokingly, "Heeeey!" The fox kit ran over to her and suddenly pounced on her denmate. "Not for long!"

"There's a bird nest up here!" Breezewhisker finally called out, "With plenty of feathers and three eggs! Should we take it back to camp?" He poked at the eggs, and realized that they were fairly cold. They must've been deserted by the mother bird; they're obviously not alive... the tom thought.

    ooc: True, very true. XP

ic: Flowerkit watched Nightkit, his words not affecting her much at all. After all, he called her "boring" often, only because she didn't like to play kit games. That's his problem, not mine... she thought to herself, still trying to convince herself that it wasn't her fault that he didn't seem to like her. If Duskkit were here, she'd tell me that he doesn't dislike me. I need to stop thinking negatively... the kit thought, but couldn't help it as her thoughts continued to stay low as she thought of her sister, then her parents, and how they left the clan.

ooc: I forgot that this is a newbie joining thread... I'm getting that badge! XD

ic: Caya shook her head, laughing, "I think everyone here is weird in their own way." After all, she herself always preferred to jump around in trees like a squirrel, and disliked having to walk long distances. Nyu seemed to have a double personality. Leonardo was possessed by Flameclaw. Layleth tended to overreact to situations. And those just named some of the surrounding cats, and Caya's understanding of them so far. Remembering Cairn, she turned back to the tom, meowing, "It's true, though, everybody has their own unique parts of their personality that simply weird out everybody else. Even if they don't always show it, it's always there."

Caya nodded to Raetumn, "Yep, and some cats don't even have any tails! Can you imagine living tail-less?" She then looked to Layleth and laughed, "No, I haven't ever had kits, no matter how much I'd like to have some. My experience with kits only consists of visiting them and their mothers, like you and your kits." With a shrug, she added, "I guess I just haven't found the right tom. I suppose it isn't good to be picky about a tom when you just want kits, and it doesn't matter as much when you're a loner. But still..." How would I do with my own kits? I probably wear myself out trying to provide for their needs and wants... she wondered thoughtfully.

Breezewhisker began slowly bringing down the eggs, one by one, until all three were carefully laying on the ground. Then he returned to slowly heaving himself up the tree, bringing down the bird feathers. "These would be good for our nests," he meowed over the fluff of his feathers, and spit them out onto the ground.
    ---
Squirrelheart examined one of the eggs, wondering what they would be good for. "Are you sure that we should be taking these eggs? What use are they to us?" she asked, rolling one over with her paw. The deputy was busy spitting out feathers, and didn't respond. "What do you think, Birchpaw? Would they be useful for a medicine cat?" she asked the younger cat.

Caya sighed at Layleth, "Do you want me to help?" Without waiting for an answer, she went up to the queen's side and examined Nyu, noticing that she seemed a bit freaked out. "Mortem," she meowed, "Can you help reassure Nyu that Layleth isn't trying to hurt her, please?" The she-cat was clearly more comfortable with him in general, so he would be helpful in calming her down.

ooc: Well, a flood seems more reasonable than a fire, since they are all about the ocean, but a prophecy is pretty cool also... Hmm... I think I vote for a prophecy :)

ic: Skysong brightened, and meowed back, "Good! I'm glad that you're good with it, I was a little worried that you wouldn't like that idea." She knew that it may sound unreasonable for an older cat to care so much about a learner's opinion, but she did, and admitted it too. Turning, the she-cat decided to fish, and watched the water for any hint of movement.

ooc2: Also, I haven't been keeping up to date on the main RP thread for the camp, so I don't really know what's going on there. :P That just means that when Skysong comes back, don't be surprised if she has no idea who some of the new cats are or what is going on XD

Pinestar stood in the middle of the camp clearing, watching for Gazeclan to arrive.
    ---
Fernstep meowed to Cherryheart, "Sure, I'll go. First let's hear what Pinestar has to say, though." Of course she already knew what this was about, but she didn't want to mention it yet.
    ---
Shade padded into the clearing, the scent of herbs clinging to her pelt.
    ---
Brightpaw stopped trying to nudge his brother awake, and peeked outside to listen to the clan meeting.

ooc: Lolz interesting IC posts you two have there. XD

ic: Caya nodded at Mortem, and watched for Nyu to calm down enough to fall asleep.

ooc2: And yeah, it seems this thread is mostly dependent on you three: Moonracer, Darkisen, and Flameterror. :P

Pinestar frowned slightly at her herald, and meowed to her, "Let's wait for the others to come first, it won't take long."
    ---
Fernstep shuffled uncomfortably, anxious to get the announcement over with.

Breezewhisker shrugged, "Well, either way, we can take them back now. The border is pretty empty of anything threatening." He picked up an egg in his mouth and hooked several feathers onto his claws on one foot. The deputy then began awkwardly walking back to camp in this fashion.
    ---
Squirrelheart copied Breezewhisker and grabbed an egg and a bunch of feathers. More smoothly, she followed him, making sure Birchpaw was close behind.

ooc: Lol, yep, you three are the one with the major characters after all: Leonardo, Flameclaw, Layleth, Firepelt, and Mortem. The rest of the characters haven't been here as long as those guys (as far as I know).

ic: A small breeze brushed a leaf off an oak tree, settling down in front of the cave.

Breezewhisker trudged on, annoyed at having to walk in such a weird position.
    ---
We'll have to come back for the prey... Squirrelheart thought, frowning slightly. Well, frowning as much as you can with an egg in your mouth. Luckily, the familiar sight of the camp soon could be spotted, so she knew it wouldn't take too long to drop off the goodies from the bird's nest.
