cobalt shot a grateful look at the first mate, before turning her azure gaze back to the gathering of exchanges. with a pawful of luck, nobody should fall victim to serious injury during their trip, as the young torbie dreaded the idea of being held responsible for another 'unfixable' injuries of another group.[/fancypost]

'ao shin will be heawrtbrowken,' cobalt sighed, azure visionaries fixed on the spot in which the canine had disappeared. 'Shouwld we wait till his return frowm BloodClan, or send sowmeone to tell him now?'[/fancypost]

entering the scene, cobalt scrunched up her tiny torbie face in disgust. alcohol smelled vile, that was for sure. more importantly however, broken glass littered the floor beneath their paws. that stuff could hurt, like really hurt. refraining from descending into 'overly-paranoid apothecary mode', cobalt simply let a 'careful there' fall from her open jaws. ugh, rain. rain was cold, it soaked through her torbie coat, and chilled the skin beneath, making cobalt resemble a drowned rat, to put it bluntly.
's-strawberryp-paw,' the apothecary mewed through chattering teeth. 'it's s-so cowld, where d'you f-find all that e-enewrgy?

cobalt was wide awake and ready to start the day. hah, not. such a rude awakening had only brought more tiredness to the young apothecary. if only it was acceptable to have a 'lazy day', for like, a week. but then again, maybe not. she had a job to do, and a pretty damn important one too.

'mowrning guys,' the words fell clumsily from cobalt's torbie maw as her jaws parted into an elongated yawn.[/fancypost]

'natsu?' the young torbie mewed in disbelief. 'natsu! I didn't think i'd see you agaiwn.'
running through voltaire's tree-trunk legs, and narrowly avoiding skrillex, cobalt did not hesitate to greet her old friend. a grin stretched across her tiny face, and azure visionaries lit up with joy as an excited giggle escaped the apothecary's maw.

'i'm too late,' cobalt whispered, the words aimed at whoever would listen. 'i shouwd have arrived befowre this happened.'

unfortunately, there could be no time for grief and regret when you were an apothecary. the young torbie had four tiny lives to save. a newborn kit would not survive long without the warmth and comfort of a mother.

'we neewd to keep these kits warm. wash the bloowd off them, but stowp after a few licks,' the apothecary instructed, more to charon than anyone else.[/fancypost]

'hey, charown,' cobalt mewed gently, comforting-apothecary mode turned up to the max. 'it's gownna be alright. you'll huwrt for a while, and that's fine, but driwnking like this isn't goiwng to make anything easier, okay?'[/fancypost]

gently swiping her sandpaper tongue over each kit in turn, cobalt sensed worry descending into her mind. the apothecary needed to find a mother for these kits, as sinara's milk would only last a short while. however, the biggest concern at this moment was keeping the tiny felines warm and dry.

'chawon, listen to me,' the young torbie went on, voice remaining calm despite the circumstances. 'your kits neewd you right now. this is sinawa's fiwst litter, she would have given so muwch to ensuwe their suwvival. she would've wanted you to be a father right now, you know that, chawon.'[/fancypost]

goldy, every time i read one of your posts about charon being upset over sinara, i swear i cry, like, six times.

not wanting to disturb anything, cobalt simply took a seat in the shallow waters, allowing gentle waves to tug at her fur. the beach was such a beautiful place to grow up in. the young torbie's childhood was quickly arriving at its end, and although she would miss the playful days of being a kit, and although a ton of bad stuff had happened, cobalt felt lucky to have such a wonderful life so far.[/fancypost]
