Fael was manning the drinks behind the bar, passing drinks to those that sat and paid at the bar. "Seph!" he called out to the new hire, shortening her name. I hope she doesn't mind. "Could you take these to table eight?" he asked, gesturing to the platter of glasses with an assortment of drinks, flashing her a grin. Fael was always in a good mood during busy hour; the noise and commotion of the people was something he was used to and it was something he enjoyed dealing with. He always liked the energy of it.

"The Japanese had a better view of us, before the Chinese and a few other cultures were thrown into the mix. We're just like people; there are a few of us who aren't the best sort of folk, but lots of us are great!" I probably fall into a darker shade of gray, though.
-
Kaji grinned mischievously. "The best place to be, of course," he practically chirped. "Right in the gray zone. 'Course, the part of the gray I fall into might be a bit darker than most, but hey, gotta have a bit of self-serving time, right? Everyone is at least a little self-preserving or self-serving sometimes."

Farukon couldn't stop himself; he gave Aisha an incredulous look, even if it might have been disrespecting. "You're a princess, though. I'm a guard. Speaking informally to or around you would be disrespectful at best and sacrilegious at worst." Farukon quickly realized his errors and bit down on his tongue to prevent him from saying anything else in such a fashion. Farukon stood at attention again, his wings folding back, tightly against his back.
-
Kaji blinked. "Well, I'm not really one to judge human morality and whatnot," he said, almost trying to stall as his mind raced for something to say. "Since, you know, I'm not human and all, so I don't know. About where would you hope to be?" That should be sufficient, right?
-
Fael nodded his appreciation, before swiftly returning back to work, busying himself.
The group of rowdy males accepted their drinks heartily, grinning and smirking at Persephone and each other. "Thank ya, pre'y lady," one of the males drawled, alcohol he previously consumed slowly and slurring his speech. "Wanna stay for a round or two?" he grinned.
-
Farukon stayed at attention for a few solid moments longer before letting his shoulders hang looser, his wings unfurling somewhat to rest more comfortably. Farukon wasn't sure what to do now; he was never allowed to simply be informal. There was always something to be done, always a reason for him to stay formal, even as a child. "Okay," he relented, defeated. "But I am not ... I don't think I know how to simply be informal."
-
Kaji tilted his head to the side when he heard the light taps of keys on the keyboard. "Whatcha doing?" he asked curiously.
-
Farukon's face went blank. He blinked at the princess in an empty disbelief. "You want me to sound like an uneducated ruffian with no proper upraising?" he asked blandly. Farukon was less ignorant than the hooligans that managed to cause enough trouble to be irritating, but never enough for it to get out of hand. "I mean no disrespect, Princess Aisha, but I would rather not act like an unrefined fool who makes a living by attempting to live outside the law." Farukon, being raised a guard, did have a strong sense of justice and preferred to keep himself separate from the troublemakers who try to evade the laws.
-
"Oh, c'mon, pre'y lady, join us!" the male drawled again. The others in the group chorused this. "It'll be worth ya time." One of the males tried to grab Persephone's wrist to pull her back towards the table.
-
"C'mon, pre'y lady, join us for a few rounds!" Similar phrases echoed around the table, the males chorusing each other. "We'll make sure ya have lots a fun!"
-
Farukon was sorely confused now. Shaking his head slightly, he sat down on the ground, his wings furling away from the ground and hanging higher on his shoulders. "This task's level of difficulty may be low, Princess Aisha, but I wasn't raised to live in a world of fantasy or pretend." I wasn't allowed the luxury. "I know how to protect, Princess Aisha, because that is my job. Anything else is unfamiliar territory for me."
