Kaji frowned. "I wasn't sent to follow you by the boogeyman. Why would you want to make a deal with him, anyway?" Kaji wrote, letting the paper drop to the ground. He wasn't really supposed to be talking with Era, but he wasn't breaking any laws. It just wasn't considered proper etiquette. Kaji thought a moment about this. It was weird, talking to someone who wasn't at least a few decades older than he was. Most of the beings he talked to were much older than he. But Kaji shrugged that thought off.

Kiyre nodded as she jot down the order. "The pancakes might take a short bit, but I'll be right back with your drinks," she said with a smile.
"Thanks, Kiyre," Alekto said.
"It's no problem-- but I am expecting a tip, you hear?"
"Yeah, yeah, okay, Kiyre," Alekto grinned.
"Good," Kiyre said, turning to Purple. "I'm counting on you to keep him from doing anything that'll get him into too much trouble," she said with a grin. "So, I'll be back with your drinks." And, with that, Kiyre went to give Ma the order and to get the drinks.
-
"Hmm? Well, her mom and my mom were friends so we kind of grew up a lot like siblings, I suppose you could say," Alekto replied. It was the truth-- just not the whole truth. His mom and Kiyre's mom had actually been in the same coven, so Alekto had grown up practically right along side Kiyre. "She's pretty much my sister, but without the blood relation." Really, the coven was Alekto's extended family; they were his aunts and uncles, sisters and brothers, cousins-- family. "Why do you ask?" he inquired with a light smile on his face.

Kaji blinked. Hmm. That's an interesting thought. So he started writing again. "Have you made a deal with the Devil, Era?" he scribbled before letting the paper drop. Kaji, though he was something other than human, didn't believe in things like angels and demons, gods and devils. Sure, there were other beings that had certain powers that humans didn't posses, but Kaji was one of those beings. He found most of the religion stuff to be foreign and strange.

((Could I join? I've never read the books, but this does sound quite interesting.))
Name: DarknessGlider
Gender: Male
Tribe: Nightwings, currently being trained with the other dragonets
Rank: Dragonet of Destiny
Appearance:
Dark wings with a hint of purple connect to strong, sleek shoulders and lead into an almost black serpentine-like body. Dark silver eyes watch, glinting in the dark. Underneath the broad wings that come from his back, dark silver scales shimmer when light bounces off them, like distant stars.
Personality: Though his looks are dark, DarknessGlider is a rather obstreperous and unruly creature. He’s stubborn and curious and enjoys questioning things and just asking “why” for the sake of asking. He can get angry at others, but he tends to get over it rather quickly. He hates grudges; they’re stupid to him, since he sees no real reason to hate the past, since it can’t be changed. He’s a nocturnal sort, though, and prefers to sleep during the day and fly with the stars and night air in the darkness.
Strength: DarknessGlider can breathe a dark kind of fire that seems to be mostly black, but is actually a quite dark shade of amethyst. He can fade into shadows with ease, but he sometimes does this on accident when he’s feeling a strong sort of emotion, and he can read the thoughts of those around him.
Weaknesses: DarknessGlider doesn’t know when enough is enough; he will question things until he gets his answer. He’s headstrong and doesn’t like to listen when his isn’t told why something is how it is. He’s immature at times and doesn’t like to feel controlled, which is why he asks questions, since he feels like, someday, his answers are all he’s ever going to need to be free. He can be considered a bit cowardly, since he hides in the shadows whenever he feels fear, but it could just be an accident, since that also sometimes happens when he gets overly excited (and sometimes when he sneezes.)
Family/Crush: He doesn’t dwell much on the past, so he avoids thinking of his family/Open

"Well, I can promise I'm not here on his behalf; I don't take orders from red gremlins with horns and a tail." KAji wrote, dropping the paper on the ground. Then he had something else to add. "Why'd you do it? Make the deal, I mean. Was it to save someone? Someone you love?" And then he dropped that piece of paper onto the ground.
-
Alekto nodded. "Ah."
"Here you are," Kiyre said, putting down a glass of water in front of Purple and a mug of hot chocolate with whipped cream and cinnamon in front of Alekto.
"Thanks, Kiyre," Alekto grinned.
"No problem, Lek. The pancakes will be out soon." The bell on the door chimed and Kiyre looked over her shoulder before smiling at Alekto and Purple. "Duty calls; I'll be back with your pancakes when they're done." Kiyre nodded and then walked across the restaurant to take the other person's order.
Alekto sipped at his hot chocolate-- or, tried to. "Ouch!" he bit under his breath after burning his tongue a little. "It's hot," he said with a sheepish smile.
-
"I'm definitely not here on the behalf of the devil; I don't even know what he looks like, then. And okay, I can wait," he scrawled and dropped the paper. I practically do have forever, Kaji thought. "So . . . bake any yummy treats lately, Era?" he wrote and let that paper fall to the ground as well.
-
"I suppose you're right," he admitted, before picking up a spoon and starting to eat the whipped cream that was slowly dissolving into his hot chocolate. "But couldn't it be hot chocolate and still be hot but just not burn? Why does it have to burn?"
-
Alekto must have decided that the hot chocolate was worth burning his tongue for, because he was trying to drink it again. "Hmm," was the reply he gave to Purple, nodding, while taking a sip of the hot chocolate.
"Homemade chocolate chip pancakes made while I was completely out of the kitchen," Kiyre said, placing two plates of pancakes on the table. "And here's syrup and powdered sugar, if you want it," she said, placing a maple syrup bottle on the table, along with a powdered sugar shaker. "Need anything else?"
"I don't think so . . . But I could be forgetting something," Alekto replied, after licking up a little bit of hot chocolate that had started to run down his lip. "Purple? You need anything else?"

There was once a great empire, spanning a vast amount of land. The people in this empire were happy and kindness was spread throughout this land. The emperor, a loving man who kept to his word and always tried to act in the best interest for his empire, ruled with his wife as his main advisor at his side. This emperor came to have four sons, and he loved each of them dearly. When it came time for this emperor to die, he couldn’t bear to give all the empire to just one of his sons; he loved them all equally. So he split his empire into four kingdoms; the North, the South, the East, and the West. So his sons ruled that way for years.
But soon, the eldest son’s heart grew dark. Why hadn’t his father just given him all of the land? It was his birthright, after all. He was born to follow his father’s footsteps, to become emperor, not king. So the eldest son, who ruled the West kingdom, made alliances outside of the old empire’s borders; he went to the Dark Elves, the forest-dwelling demons, and to the malicious wayward spirits to gather troops. He added his kingdom’s forces to the ranks and soon set off to conquer the land that his brothers ruled.
The war was brutal; the other kingdoms were forced to make alliances with other beings, like the Light Elves, the Seelie Court, and the Fair Folk that lived outside the Courts. The Unseelie Court eventually joined them, as well. But the eldest brother had ranks too powerful. So the three other brothers went to the only other beings they could think of to help. The Draco Tribui.
The Draco Tribui was a great tribe of dragon warriors who could take the shape of dragons or people. Their leader had been a friend of the late emperor and was pained to see his friend’s empire in conflict. So the Draco Tribui flew into combat and the bloody war was over. The eldest brother died in the last battle of the war, and many of his troops were slaughtered. A trusted general of the other three brothers was put on the West throne and peace was restored.
But things didn’t go back to how they were. Other beings, which weren’t human but had fought alongside them, stayed in the kingdoms and settled down. The king who sat on the North throne even married a Draco Tribui woman.
Years have passed and the lines between races have been blurred. Most people in the kingdoms weren’t completely human anymore; it had been three centuries, and most had at least some magic running through their veins, even if some had more than others.
The kings all had children and peace was still abounding throughout the kingdoms. And then, the king on the South throne had a little girl. He had three sons and now he had a small girl whom he could dote on and cherish how fathers only can with their little girls. But he wanted her to be safe at all times. So he appointed a man whom he trusted to watch over her, but the king felt like his daughter should have someone her age around, since everyone at the castle was at least ten years older than she. The princess’s guard actually had a son just a few months older than the princess and the king brought him into the castle. The boy was trained swiftly to be the best guard that he could be and it was soon apparent that he had magic in his blood. When the princess and the boy were both about nine, the boy’s training was complete. So the king introduced them and the boy was made the princess’s guard. Young as he was, the boy was a decent guard and would only grow better.
Now the princess and her guard are seventeen and suitors have begun to try and win the princess’s heart.
Name: Farukon
Species: Dravec: After centuries of blurred blood, a new species arose from the bloodlines of a few. The magic blood of the Unseelie Court and the outer Fair Folk mixed with the blood of Draco Tribui to create the Dravec bloodline.
Appearance:
Long and messy black hair half-hide his face. His eyes, one red and one dark amethyst, trained to see the slightest movement. His somewhat-pointed ears trained to hear the softest sound. His lean figure cloaked in black leather hides a strength that he was trained to use to protect. He moves with the graceful precision of a mighty feline stalking its prey in the night. He has great leathery wings, like that of a dragon’s, that he can bear at times and choose to hide at others, as well.
Powers/Gifts: Flight and a type of pyrokinesis: he can manifest and manipulate a dark fire that burns cold. Also Spell Casting, but his spells are basically poems that he gives magic to, so they don’t always work as planned.
Fears/Weaknesses: He was trained to fear nothing and to be weak to nothing, but, though he’d rather die than admit it, he fears being abandoned and alone and powerless.
Other: He writes poetry, but it’s not like he’d ever let anyone know that. -

The White Rabbit Café is less of a café and more of a tavern. Strangely, it seems larger inside than it looks like on the outside, but no one really cares. Everyone had worries and fears and regrets and things they just want to escape . . . so they all take a little trip down the rabbit hole. But there’s something strange about the bar; it’s not just on the Earth’s plane. Other creatures enter from other planes. The bar owner himself isn't actually human– or from Earth. So people come in and everyone gets the same treatment. The bar owner has only three rules: all fights will be taken outside, everyone will be respectful towards the bar and will not damage anything, and using magic on another being is strictly forbidden. Do not adhere to the rules, and the bar owner will forcefully remove you.

Name: Fael Mirum
Age in Human Years: About 21 years
Age in Xenos Years: 1578 years
Gender: Male
Species: Xenos
Appearance:
Shaggy black hair falls into a pale face with amber eyes. He usually dons a black leather jacket over a simple gray or white tee-shirt, plus worn dark jeans and dark Converse, unless he’s working. Strange markings decorate his back, but it’s not like there are many people who know that. He also has retractable wings that look much like a Black-billed Magpie. But he keeps those hidden most of the time.
Powers/Gifts/Talents: A form of telekinesis that if specific to the Xenos species; Fael has this energy that he can manifest and manipulate. He can also fly, but that’s only when he’s not hiding his wings.
Weaknesses/Fears: Fael can’t stand being underground. He’s secretly terrified of it, but he doesn’t tell anyone. Loud noises startle him easily; people find that his bar is closed during most thunderstorms, but they never know why. He’s rather stubborn and likes to keep his secrets close.
Other: When he thinks no one can hear, he sings Xenos lullabies from his childhood.~~~~
Fael glanced around. It was a normal night at the White Rabbit; people were coming in and stumbling out, friends were laughing and jesting, people were nursing drinks for an assortment of different reasons, and there was a constant murmur of noise that always rumbled through the bar. Fael grinned slightly to himself; this is why he ran his bar. Just the sense for all of the people. It was comforting, in a way. Fael enjoyed what he did.
-
"Of course I can talk aloud," he said, his voice sounding strange and echo-y in his incorporeal form. "I just thought there was more mystery in the writing. And, yeah. The ones I did eat were delicious, by the way. I liked the cake." Kaji grinned, even though he couldn't be seen except as shadows.
-
"Me," he answered. "I might only be shadows, but I do have morals. Couldn't just leave you there, could I?" He paused. "Why did you faint, anyway?"

((Accepted. Thank you for joining. Go ahead and post.))
((I'd post if I could, as well, but now it is time for school.))

"Okay. Thank, then, Kiyre, I think we're goo--" Alekto was cut off when Kiyre was knocked into. Kiyre caught herself, and caught the tray. She may have cheated a little by using a bit of magic to stall the tray, but she covered it up. Alekto barely noticed. He watched the girl who had tripped, staring right back at her, and then at her back as she ran out.
Wonderful, Kiyre thought, looking around at her scared customers. "Mitte unguibus," she muttered, letting the spell fall onto the customers. Unless they were somehow magic themselves, her customers would forget about the girl's talons; Kiyre couldn't have anyone blabbing about someone with talons in Ma's restaurant. It could be bad publicity. Of course, removing whole memories was dangerous, so Kiyre only removed the detail about the talons. Everything else about the scenario remained.
"Hey, Purple, I'll be right back," Alekto said, already starting to stand up. Of course, Kiyre's spell didn't affect him; he was a warlock, too, so Kiyre's magic couldn't touch him unless she really tried. Alekto gave Purple a small smile. "Watch my pancakes for me?" he asked, but it was obviously rhetorical. He was out the door in a moment, looking for the girl with the talons. He was curious, and he wanted to comfort her. "Hey, you still out here?" he called. "It's okay, Kiyre's handling the customers, so no one's going to think anything of it." Alekto was careful with his words; if he said anything that was out of the ordinary for humans, people could notice, but he had to convey the message.
"I swear, he's the embodiment of empathy sometimes," Kiyre muttered under her breath, shaking her head slightly. "He's going to have to stop trying to help everybody eventually."
-
"Hey," he said, walking towards her. "I'm Alekto-- but, call me Lek. I saw what happened in there; you okay?"
-
"Looked like a bit more than just clumsiness to me," he said with a small grin. "Glad to hear you're okay. And, just to throw this out there, you aren't a freak. I promise. And I should know, too." He chuckled slightly under his breath. "By human standards, I'd be a freak, too." He left his statement open for interpretation.
-
Fael was wiping off a few glasses and putting them away when a girl with white hair sat down at the bar. "You look a bit young; if you want a drink I'll need some identification, please," he said absently, like he did with every person that looked questionably young. He wasn't really paying her too much attention; lots of people came through his bar so faces didn't always seem to stick out to him or anything.
-
"Any of this BS caused by me?" Kaji asked, not sure whether to feel bad for proud if it was him.
