    He knew that Judith was going to die. He'd known it from the second the disease took her over. But- he just pushed it to the side. Pretended that it wasn't real, wasn't there. Tyki made time to visit her, even if it meant sneaking in, and kept her company. She was going to live, that's what he convinced himself of. Judith...the beautiful, cold female he'd fallen in love with. It was her that healed him from Melantha, who he really thought would be the one. That's why, she couldn't die. He was so selfish, to pretend everything was okay. So selfish....







    So the very second he saw the figure limp like a rag doll, he didn't even have to wonder why the group was gathering. He didn't even have to know who it was that was no longer there. It was Judith. Tears ebbed the tom's eyes, but he stopped them before they came. Why, why her? Why did she have to die? It was unfair...she was to young...what's the use? He thought to himself, what will lingering on it do? His lover was gone, that was it. And with her, a piece of himself died as well.

    For the last while, it became very apparent that something was agitating the tom. Something that that tugged down his heart to the point where not even his eyes of shimmering gold danced against black irises as they once did. That "something" had been Judith. He'd missed ever thing about her- the coldness of her gaze, sharpness of her words. The way he could catch those few moments in which she left herself open. But she was gone. And he knew it. That's what was tearing him apart from the inside out.
