At Stella's suggestion, her verdant eyes became a bit brighter. She liked the idea of the leopard tagging along; the spotted wildcat reminded her a bit of her mother, actually. Sydney's attention was diverted from Stella, however, as Oaktail instructed her in the right direction. Getting to her paws, the kitten skipped after the chocolate-furred feline.

It was hard to just saunter on in and instantly be super popular and loved by everyone. Sydney knew this, despite how much she wished it were possible. So far everyone she had met were friendly and fun, and she suspected that most were here. RiverClan seemed like a lovely place, hence her desire to join in the first place. Of course, now that the task of being accepted was over, she was left to find some others to talk to.
Making friends hadn't ever been difficult for her. Rather the opposite. But still, the tabby and white kitten was well aware not everyone wanted to simply approach strangers. Therefore, she made her presence clear by sitting in the center of camp, waiting for someone to wander by so she could say hello.

Each den clearly served a different purpose. As Oaktail was explaining, there was one for the leader, healers, queens and kits, warriors, and apprentices. She would be an apprentice in a short time, however, for now she would remain a kitten. Blinking around to take all this new information in, she started at his follow-up inquiry. Instead of accepting the offer, like most would, Sydney mewed, "Well, as nice as that sounds, I'm a little tired. Would it be okay to take a lunch break?" At her prompt, her stomach made a low noise in agreement, causing her cheeks to warm as a sheepish smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.

The kitten knew she wouldn't each much due to her small size, which was not capable of ingesting an ample amount without giving her a massive stomach ache. Therefore, she settled down with her minnow and inhaled the salty scent. Glancing over at her companions, not wanting to be the only one sitting down eating, she offered, "Are you all hungry, too?" Her sage irises peered up at them inquisitively, not beginning without them.

"My name is Sydney," she introduced herself with a little grin. "Nice to meet you, Maze." What an interesting name! The tabby with high white hadn't ever quite heard anything like it. Uniqueness was nice here, though, and from what she could tell, well-appreciated. It was one of the reasons her own hadn't been questioned. Of course, she did feel that Sydneykit had an odd ring to it, but her full name, which would later be uncovered, would likely make more sense and she would grow to like. At least she hoped.

However, it seemed to simmer down as they spoke of his daughter and her apparent scariness. Tipping her head to one side, she inquired, "Who is your daughter?"

It was a nice name, in her opinion, and suited the feline well. Or, at least as far as appearance went. She didn't know enough about her personally just yet. Harborpaw seemed to be a bit awkward when it came to speech, however Sydney didn't say anything about that. It would be simply awful to come across as rude! So, in response to the question, she told her, "I'm doing pretty good. How about you?" The tabby really had no reason to be doing badly. So far she'd managed not to make any enemies - only friends - and she quite liked RiverClan life.

However, she was aware that Photoflash was the leader of RiverClan and listened to his words during the announcement. Tabbykit was the medicine cat apprentice, got it. The tabby with high white had yet to meet the cat mentioned, but suspected she would eventually, seeing as she held such a respected position.
Either way, the kitten nodded up in acknowledgment. The fact that anyone was able to heal was news to her, but she knew that it wouldn't be a good idea for her if she didn't know anything about herbs. Besides, Sydney figured most of her Clanmates were much more educated and capable of doing such tasks themselves.

But nonetheless, she dipped her head and then blinked, waiting to see if there was anything else in need of an announcement.
At the mention of a farm, a single gray ear twitched in alertness. A farm sounded like fun! She wondered if she could help out as well... Perhaps she would ask. Piping up a bit shyly, she inquired, "Are kits allowed to help out at the new farm, or do we have to wait until we're apprentices?" For all she knew, there could be dangerous tasks they weren't allowed to engage in.

Unfortunately the kitten had been late to the meeting, but she caught the main issue here. If Photoflash was gone, she suspected Shadehours would take charge until the leader was back. She wondered what had happened. Was Photo captured? Lost? Injured somewhere? Dead? All of those possibilities were simply awful, and she would hate to think of any of them actually happening, but it was possible. Sydney looked on with worried jade irises, hoping there would be some good ideas.
