    name: Whitestar

past names: Whitekit ; Whitepaw ; Whitenose

    age: 26 Moons

    rank: Leader

    gender: Tom

appearance: Whitestar is a pale fawn tom with a single white spot on his face. His head is round and he has short, wide ears that are wide set apart. Whitestar is rather lithe, with lean muscles. His body is stocky and short, and his tail is wide and rudderlike.

    --

personality: Whitestar seems to be completely different depending on whether or not he is running his clan or talking to someone one-on-one. As a leader, Whitestar is confidant and commanding. He demands the respect that the leaders before him demanded. On the other hand, Whitestar lacks the skills to keep conversations going. When speaking to another when he is on the same level as them, Whitestar is awkward and fumbling. As a result, Whitestar avoids talking to his clanmates when he isn't addressing them as their leader.

history: The apprentice of Dogstar, a strange and unpredictable leader, Whitestar had gone through his apprenticeship much more quickly than he should have. Whitestar was assigned an apprentice when he was hardly out of being one himself, and as soon as the spot of deputy had opened, Whitestar had been assigned. He didn't understand Dogstar's choices and still doesn't- Whitestar didn't want to be thrown into this position; he sees it as his burden to bare.

Marshmallow kitten your last reply was Dawnpelt joining the clan meeting to talk about poppyleaf's death and cherrywhisker/flowerfall's misbehavior at the gathering. the meeting was interrupted after battail was critically injured. the meeting was dismissed and right now all that is getting sorted.

Whitestar awoke on the dawn of the second day since Dogstar's death, feeling the weight of the clan on his back before his eyes opened. Whitestar didn't want this. He kept his eyes stubbornly closed for a few moments longer in hope that he could simply mourn his past leader and the loss of control of his life, but a bird that sang persistently loud from somewhere within the walls and guilt for trying to ignore his clan drove Whitestar out of his nest. He hopped onto the top of the strange hollow block that made up his nest. It gave a slight wobble as Whitestar landed, but otherwise didn't move.

The fawn tom angled his ears, listening to the insides of the walls. In this room, the walls were mostly whole. A few gaps existed, although those were filled with thick, impassable yellow fur. The singing was coming from a tail length over Whitestar's nest. He balanced on his hind legs for a moment, then leaned forward and placed his paws on the spot where he heard the bird. Whenever his paws touched to the wall, the bird stopped for a single, blessedly quiet moment. Whitestar turned away from the wall, allowing all four of his paws to touch down on top of the block. As soon as he did so, the bird started up again.

Frustrated, Whitestar jumped down from his perch. He figured he would have to go outside and find the spot where the bird had gotten into the walls in the first place. Until then, Whitestar turned to the warrior's den, unsure how to proceed.

Whitestar turned his head when he saw movement in his peripheral vision more on a reflex than any curiosity over the movement. Whitestar's eyes snapped down to Larkpaw as he gave the apprentice a friendly wave with his tail.

"You don't have to creep around like that, it's time for everyone to get up anyway." His tone was very detached and Whitestar's eyes had wandered back to the warriors' den. They were depending on him now, Whitestar refused to be the one to disappoint them.

At Breezeheart's greeting, Whitestar gave a polite nod and a soft trill from the back of his throat, but didn't otherwise speak. His ears flicked at the warriors' den once more, alerted by the commotion. The bird's incessant singing would pause for short moments while the warriors' spoke, but would start up again as soon as they would grow silent.

lmao in ojibwe the words for rabbit is waabooz and wolf is maniingan, guess that tracks cause ojibwe's parent language is algonquin. I'm assuming those words are pronounced about the same, only ojibwe has a glot stop while algonquin is flat. Also do the names tie into any specific tribe or just algonquin in general? idk enough about the mohawks to know the pronunciation rules tho. Are those first/last/any names?

In ojibwe when something has a specific gender, to get that gender across you put boy/girl at the end of the word. My grandpa's name actually was Maniingan, but if he was named gender specific it would have been Maniinganinini. Later his name was Ben Wolfe (last name for obvious reasons, first name because thats what some dude decided his first name would be). I don't speak a lick of iroquien so I cant say if mohawk follows the same convention tho; prolly not though.

I appreciate the info tho, I'll ad the names in sometime tomorrow

"Yes." Whitestar said simply. "I imagine it would have gotten in the walls from the outside; I doubt it would have been bold enough to come inside." This part was easy, Whitestar was used to this. He could be detached and commanding; That's what a good leader was, wasn't it?

"One of you should go out and see if you can find any holes in the wall. It probably went in and is too feather-brained to find it's way back out." Whitestar had planned on doing that himself, but that wasn't the sort of thing that leaders did, was it? "Breezeheart, you can use this as a training opportunity." Whitestar wasn't exactly sure how killing a probably cornered possibly stuck bird could tie into training, but Whitestar figured Breezeheart could figure something out.
