And of course, this made eating Rendell's favorite pasttime. The thing was, he couldn't eat from the pile-of-dead-things until most of the others ate, which meant he had to find food, and that wasn't very easy with the cold and all. Almost as if answering his prayers, a canary flew down, not too far from him.
The yellow bush viper slowly slithered over towards the animal, trying to ensure it wouldn't see him. Not that it mattered. All he needed was a well-aimed bite, and the bird would be dead in a couple of seconds.
