>That would be great, thanks!
Duskpaw gave off that charming smile of his as he pads out of the Apprentices' den. He had just lined his new nest with the finest feathers he scavenged from the fresh-kill pile. Duskpaw now peers around the tree tops and, a safe distance away, finds one of those huge birds soaring freely across the sky; a hawk, he recalls. He vows he will take one down sometime in the near future. Even experienced warriors can rarely catch these admirable birds, but Duskpaw can already see himself dragging the beast through the camp entrance and hear the gasps of awe from his clanmates. And maybe he can snatch a talon as a trophy.
But he's getting ahead of himself. Duskpaw hasn't even caught a mouse yet. He sighs on the inside but quickly recovers his smile and continues towards his mentor. "Hey Moonstorm!" he cheers. -
Duskpaw was a bit alarmed by his mentor's first reaction, but as she calmed, he replied "Yes!" and padded right beside Moonstorm, head high.
-
An eerie, distant scream made Duskpaw stiffen. He listened again, closely. Nothing. Was he just hearing things? No.. It had to be real. He dashed away, leaving his patrol behind. He knew he was breaking rules but.. Someone was hurt. What was he going to do anyways? He was still a new apprentice and in basic training. But Duskpaw already revealed the scene: The crazy black cat.. attacking Bluestar. He froze.
-
Duskpaw let out a yowl of panic and took a few steps back.
-
Duskpaw stood jaw-dropped for a couple more seconds. He finally came to his senses and sprinted back to the hunting patrol. "Moonstorm! Blossomfall! Someone, help Bluestar! She's dying!" he panted, then stumbled and lay down, breathing heavily.
-
Duskpaw had recovered and dashed after where the patrol disappeared. He burst through the trees, adrenaline pumping through his blood. The scene he revealed almost put his young mind into shock. He saw his clanmates, the crazy cat, and a new one. But Bluestar was gone. That was when he spotted it.. A mighty beast with huge wings and eyes like blue crystals. What the hell is that?!
-
Duskpaw should be scared, but he's not. Something in Bluestar's voice relaxed him. He trusted she wouldn't hurt him. He nodded and turned to the fighting cats. "What should I do?" he murmured with a side glance at the ThunderClan leader. Duskpaw was inexperienced in fighting.
-
Then, without thinking, he walked into the fight towards the new cat, who was under the grip of Blossomfall. He looked into the cats eyes and simply asked: "Who are you?"
-
But his heart says not to kill this cat. "Who were you before that?"
-
"Darkpaw" he quotes, sinking the name in. "Harsh name for a young cat." He looks at Unknown again. "Where you always like this?"
-
He paused for a moment. He felt stronger, maybe Bluestar's powers were doing something. He stared at the tom for a few moments then said "Do you want this?"
-
Duskpaw doesn't take his neutral gaze from Unknown. But he feels different. He feels like he's changing, but only on the inside.
-
He ignored Flowerpaw. His calm voice went hard and he put his face an whisker away from Unknown. "You are a follower. A lowlife. A murderer. A heart-breaker. That is what you have put on your name, Darkpaw." His eyes blazed with anger he knew wasn't his. His voice spoke words he normally wouldn't dare say to a cat twice his size. It was something inside him that needed to find the real cat behind all of this mess. His voice suddenly calmed again. "This is what you want, I know." He backed off and flicked his tail for Blossomfall and Flowerpaw to finish what they started.
-
(Oooo That secret doe)
-
Duskpaw sat down and watched through shadowed eyes that were not his, revealing no secrets of the power within him.
-
Then he started to panic, not him, but something within him. 'The life he lived was the one he wanted.. He said so himself' he told himself.
-
-
"Wait!" he yelled suddenly. But his voice was that of a female. He was no longer Duskpaw. His form changed. The new cat took over, a beautiful starclan she-cat. "Wait..." she says, "Do not kill my son." (Okay if I play as the mother? ^-^)
