She already knew who it was before a sound had been made. The scent was almost as recognizable as that of the dratted mouse bile. Coralessence pushed another clump of bindweed into its spot. She could feel those round eyes bearing down on her, staring two holes through her soft pelt, but Corey wouldnt turn around. She knew who that spotted cat was behind her.

She died. I watched her. That couldnt be Divineplea behind her. It wasnt. It must have been something inside of her. Yes, that was it. Something was possessing her former mentor. But that would be bizarre, would it not? Something, a demon perhaps, possessing the dead feline? For f*cks sake, Corey, your going absolutely bonkers.... Being left alone with ones thoughts was more dangerous than being in a room full of pissed off hedgehogs. But she couldnt ignore her forever. So against her better judgement, Corey spoke.

"I know you're there."

The medicine cat shuffled about the medicine room, her belly feeling heavy. Oh she knew what it was. But Xerxes didnt. Yet.

Every pawstep Coralessence took, her belly felt heavier. For two weeks, she could feel it. It was driving her mad. Xerxes. The catmint. Her belly. The medicine cat had a scowl on her pretty face as she crossed the arcadianclan border. There was another like her, in shadowclan. And a medicine cat at that! Rainkissed was her name. Corey sniffed her way around, cringing slightly when she caught whiff of their scent. This was definitely the border. Sitting back, the young female laid her tail over her fro t paws and simply waited.

Sure, she could have waltzed into the camp because medicine cats were held to the highest amount of respect. But she still didnt do it.

Corey stared at her for a moment. She had thought her gone. She had left her alone to do the medicine work for the clan. The apprentices werent ready to do it themselves, so, technically speaking, she had been alone. Nothing had been scarier to her than the thought of not having Divineplea at her side as a medicine worker and friend. She wasnt ready to do this by herself. Yes, it would happen one day, but not today. "I dont resent you..", she answered blankly. Staring at her former mentor was almost to much; it was basically to much for her not to run up and shower her adoptive mother with purrs.
