Outside the plump flakes fluttered tenderly unto the ice sodden sidewalks where they became one. This was the end of the line. Soon the world would once again heat up and the snow would melt away. It would slush-ify and become nothing. This was one thing they all had in common.

he world seemed to spin circles around her, the small pink slip now a crumbled mess in her fist. She stood outside the hospital dressed in now more than a sweatshirt and a pair of yoga pants despite the fluttering if snow flakes in the breeze. Truth be told the weather felt nice in the instant. It helped to numb her further. The pounding in her head had all but ceased to exist for this singular moment. The night before she had gone to the bar and managed a few free drinks from a few of the lads. Something she wouldn't be bringing herself to do for the moment. The brunettes free hand moved gingerly to her stomach. This wasn't real.

For a while she stood there unsure how to go about this. What to do. Her stomach was in an uproar as it had been for the past week which was what had finally drawn
her to the place of medicine. She shoved the paper in her front pocket and moved to sit on a snow covered bench. Before she was aware of her actions her phone was pressed to her ear as tears streaked down her cheeks. His name was on the tip of her tongue.

A whisp of a smile graced the Irishman's lips as he hiked one leg up stop the stone railing, then the other. He chuckled humorlessly to himself. It was a frozen sound. His heart drummed rapidly from within his chest. The waters below, although frozen alobg the pebble shored edges, ran without a care in the world. Gray and white. Under normal circumstances the twenty year old would have rolled her eyes at such a comment. Under normal circumstances she wouldn't have been calling the lad. "Uh, h-hello," Niamh croaked. The hand holding the cheap cellular device to her ear shook uncontrollably hearing his voice. "This is Niamh... We m-met a few weeks ago," she cleared her throat, batting at the tears out if annoyance. "We need to talk are you free?" This wasn't a plea for help. It was her common sense deciding he deserved to know what was happening.

Oisin froze, the muscles along his spine becoming rigid. "...What?" He grunted turning his line of sight over his shoulder once more. His breath hitched in the back of his throat. Was she taking to him? His grasp on the pillar unconsciously tightened. Dark orbs turned back to the inky river filing beneath the bridge.[rushed]

Under the ebony skies the world would have seemed to beautiful. The icy face of the stars flickering on their own accord there wasn't the faintest puff of a cloud visible. The world would have been breathtaking had the village not gone up in flames like a Roman candle. Marit stumbled through the village on her own accord. The roar of flames as they licked up the sides of homes intermingled with the panicked screams of the villagers. The island she new as home slowly becoming char and ash.

She had been tasked with helping out the villagers while the strongest and the burliest fought the cold blooded beasts. To say she was even remotely close to being considered such a member was far fetched. Despite having the soul of a fighter, the chiefs daughter was a disappointment in that department. At least that's what they had thought. Given the chance she would have taken down a dragon, and take down a dragon she did. The Night fury was close to the earth, well, closer. It's midnight scales seemed to blend in with the dark skies above making it almost impossible to track. All villagers were all preoccupied with the war, the air heavy with the scent of plasma. All except one.

The devil's screams shook her very being, rage quickly adding up. It wasn't long until she blew her top which seemed to coincide with her netting the creature. The legendary Night fury, the root of all children's nightmares, wrangled in. So, what do you expect the young Viking to have done? Not something she would have expected from herself. A smart warrior would have let the beast die alone, rot away till there was nothing left. Dragon's felt nothing, they were monsters. Although this was her chance. Her chance to surprise her father and the rest of the village. Show them what even a frail woman can do with the blood of their chief coursing through her veins. She went towards the valley.

A frown was engraved deeply within her brow as she dodged in between battles going in between her people and the beasts. The casualties were high this particular raid she could tell right off the bat.

Her feet pounded against the thawing earth as she ran. Her breath made visible in the chill. The ginger stumbled down the valley walls often finding herself caught in snares made by the lands flora. Shadows lurked around her. Battle cries of either side could be heard even in he depths of the valley. The hair down the back of her neck stood on end. On instinct she found herself glancing around with every step, prepared to sneak up on the shadowy beast instead of the other way around. Granted it was still alive.

Branches were broken up ahead causing the stars to be seen once more. A sky she had lost entering through the trees. It was a lovely place to hunt, but seemed never ending. Her dark eyes turned to glance ahead, instantly widening. Before her stood the might beast. The king, the Night Fury.[sorry for any grammatical errors or errors in punctuation. Nails bit to the quick, the skeleton of a woman batted away the tears with the palm of her hand. The irksome dial tone soon banished from her ear as she pressed a key ending the call. It didn't come as a surprise having the grandmother of her child not answer, it never had. She hesitantly scrolled through the contacts programmed within the confinements of the devices memory bank once again. The sting of myself pity rising to the surface causing her to shake her head in an attempt to rid the thought.

That night seemed came as a blur. The intense flashing of lights, the constant thrumming of the bass, and the seemingly ever-changing colour of his eyes. Tears long since gone she barely laid a finger over his name before the phone once again began to dial. Merolan, if she remembered correctly. Waiting for some sort of an answer she was once again hugging her abdomen

The foot bridge stood narrowly across the trickle of a river. It was made entirely of a dark stone, droll. Years upon years it had towered over the land and in that time frame it had gone unnoticed except for a select few leaving the walkway in pristine condition. Pale flakes of ice had begun the descent through the brisk air once more. As she moved in his direction a low, warning growl emanated from the males chest, "Stay back," the Faoladh snapped. Usually a kind species turned sour in an instant. Rage flashed across his features. His gaze the same colour of the stone beneath his feet flickered to the woman, sight blurred by tears. He was too spun up to notice the her unconventional appearance.

The shifter gave little thought to his proposal before giving a quick nod, only one can't simply seem another through a phone call. "...Alright," she added. A faint dapple of colouring covered her cheeks as she feltg idiotic for her previous action. The woman slowly removed herself from the bench located just outside the hospital doors. Her skin like ashen tissue paper strung tightly across a frame of bones. "I will leave you to your... Cleaning then if you could supply me with your address." Her voice rose in a hinting manner. She prayed that it wasn't much farther away than her own flat as she didn't have the means to get a ride in a vehicle. Or a driver's license for that matter.

It was a seemingly shorter walk than it felt. The wind nipped at her cheeks and nose bring a faint dusting of colour to her face. She currently stood just outside the door. A single finger wavered over the bell whilst the other sat in a tightly wound fist at her side. She bit her lip. The sooner this was done, the sooner things were out in the open the sooner she would be able to return to her flat across town. With a short breathe she applied little pressure to the button quickly letting her hand fall to her side. Her eyes became fixated on the porch under foot her hair acting as a second veil, hiding her red-rimmed gaze and expressions from the outside world as she waited for an answer to the door.[rushed!]

The puffy gaze of the Faoladh jumped from the woman's face to what was gripped in her fist. Another growl passed from his clamped jaw. The wolf from within slowly losing its grip caused and dramatic change in demeanour. "What are you?" He snarled. Her scent was off. She wasn't witch despite the wand in hand. Her smell was muddled. Sharp, yet unclear.

Dirty blonde hair was in disarray atop the creatures head giving off a woof appearance. His grasp in the edge of the bridge only tightened. "I don't want to hurt you, woman. " He hadn't control. His inner wolf was clawing its way to the surfac. This was his only way of escape, the murky current below.

"Thank you for talking with me on such short notice," her voice was naturally just above a whisper despite the creature she harbored within her. "Before I speak my piece... The Irishman let out a whimper and fell backwards landing at the woman's feet. His head went his calloused hands. "No," his voice was a pained groan as he fought her words. In the sense of demonic blood she may not have been the most powerful, but her control still rattled him to the core. Eyes flickered, his deep gaze originally made of stone, were currently a dark blue-gray and seemed to resonate uncertainty. The scraps began to tingle before quickly turning to a burning sensation. "How?" He struggled. How had she known what he was so quickly?

"You don't need to worry about me," she mumbled wringing her wrist. A terrible habit she had never quite found herself able to grow out of. Truth be told he had been spot on. Morning sickness lasting the entire span of a day, migraines, chills. Granted going through an alcoholism Program and detoxification hadn't helped this any, but it was natural for her species to go through an unusually hard time bearing young as well. Five and a half months of agony, but the end result was one of love. Absently her hand went to the immature baby bump protruding from her middle. One that was very hard to notice until close examination. It wasn't an uncommon feature for her kind at this stage.

Her frown impossibly deepened turning her eyes to his once more. "What?

Instead he slowly nodded letting his eyes droop shut, visibly more relaxed. And exhausted. He just wanted to sleep the day away, or the rest of his meager life. That would work fine as well. He sat hunched over his wolf having backed away from the surface. With her control lost he was at ease, well, as at ease as one could be in such a situation.

"Are you kidding?" The athletic lad spoke up quickly. An innocent grin plagued his lips as the brunette slung an arm across her shoulders. "When haven't we?" Instantly signing Hazel and himself up for the scheme. They deserved to have a little bit of fun once and a while. Rage was still pent up from the night before, although his little chat with Mason previously had helped to relieve it to some degree. That was until he got his hands on the a.shole.

PlayinG off his excitement rather well he turned his stone-cold hazel gaze upon Arabella, pressing his lips lightly to her cheek. It was all he could do in front of his sister in order to keep her from cringing. It wasn't like she and Mace hadn't done worse. After a moment his sister seemed to give in to the idea, heaving a deep sigh. A tell tale sign that they were in for the the secret santa. He smirked, absently drawing circles on the blondes skin. A sort of calming notion on his behalf. Maybe it was just the anger, no, rage getting to him, but his worry for the woman. He couldn't lose someone else. Maybe he was useless in her situation, but she meant the world to him. In his eye she was a queen. He would got to hell and back if she so chose.

After a moment his gaze flirted back to the screen sat before them watching for a moment before he spoke once more. "We'd be willing to host this year," he mumbled caught up in the motion picture. It would give them a reason to actually buy a tree this year. All Christmas spirit had been long forgotten with their mother rarely home and their father, er, "gone". After he had hit seven, his sister eight, their mother hadn't seen a reason to hold back on who the chubby old pedophile in red with a beard as white as snow really was. That was the first year their father hadn't been around.

As Arabella moved to sit between the two she couldn't help, but steal a glance at her best friend. Almost as if checking to see if she was alright. After a moment she blew out a short breath realizing that Miles had signed the duo up for. It was her sign as to giving in. She found she was unable to have much in the way of patience for puttering up a fight. They needed the fun. Instead she leaned her forehead against her loves shoulder, silently groaning. Her head was pounding, throbbing. She breathed his scent, cigarettes and day old cologne, hoping to stop the phantom ache. When it did nothing for her migraine the young woman warily pushed herself up from the sofa.

By this time her younger sibling had already offered up their home for the holiday season. That didn't matter as much now as it would later. For the moment she was much more focused on making it out of the room. "I'm going to go lay back down," her voice came across in a hushed mumbled, much lower than her lower tone, eyes locking with Mace's before tearing away.

She shuffled across the carpeting with a frown drawn across her lips, her hair falling across her now ashen complexion. Had it been any other moment in time she would have been less rude, but as of now she needed to lay down. With out another word she moved in through the threshold of Mace's room, stumbling to the edge if the bed where she promptly fell flat across the plush surface. They would have to leave in an hour or so for the dinner with her mother and the new lad of her eye.

[I'm sorry for the inactivity if you're be willing to continue this thread. Otherwise just let me know. It's not much if an excuse, but I've had so much going on, life has been hell. I'm sure it could be a lot worse, don't get me wrong, but I still would like to apologize. ]

An unsaid, unknown, emotion fluttered across her face for a moment as he spoke. It was faint and almost immediately after showing its face it was stuffed away for another time. Her eyes were wide with a childlike curiosity, rather, feline-like curiosity. Warily, the shifter woman pushed herself up from her seat and moved closer towards the lad. A pang of guilt hit her full force seeing his expression, "...Demon?" She mused softly. Her feet took her closer to his form. "That's... Good to know." Her voice was still as light and airy as before, but a fraction of a smile now adorned her lips. "I don't believe I've met any others of your kind before, werewolves, fae, other shifters... But, Demon." Niamh shook her head slowly leaving her hands draped at her sides.

What was one supposed to do when a woman, let alone another supernatural creature, decides to push you back off the bridge from which one you had already been coaxed down from? He screamed. Once he found them inside an unfamiliar looking restroom, the Faoladh was sputtering up water despite her command. "What the h.ll?" The lad gagged once he had been able to catch his breath after having expelled the murky liquid from his lungs. His heart pounded erratically from within his chest. A panicked tone seemed through to his naturally deep voice.

The dark eyes of the Chimera reverted down to their hands, the rough touch of his skin sending goosebumps up along her arms. Unable to meet his gaze she slowly shook her head."Human is not something you have to worry about." No, she was something much worse. An unspeakable beast. A monster. Her kind were murderers, yet she, for one reason or another, still craved the thought of bringing their child into the world. Hearing the helpfulness in his voice caused her to visibly flinch. He would no longer feel that way when he found out what, what, she was. "I'm a Chimera." That said she pulled away from his touch moving towards the door. Or tried, although didn't make it far before her vision became blurred, her mind foggy. The blood drained from her face leaving her ashen. Her hand went out to the wall, although she just barely missed leaving her to fall to her knees. The world spun out of orbit leaving her chilled to the bone and ill feeling.

Had he not been working on living his face would have been the colour of a tomato seeing as she was soping wet... And in white. Instead as she moved to sit in his lap his arms instinctively went around the young woman surely leaving her white blouse blood stained, but that didn't matter at the moment. He said nothing. Instead he leant his head down to her shoulder his unnaturally warm body pressed against her own. Before he realized it tears had begun to prick at the corners of his eyes and he was sobbing into her drenched too.

"How can you touch me?" She responded breathlessly, subconsciously leaning into his touch. Her gaze turned up to meet his ignoring his previous question momentarily. It seemed...Off. The world continued to spin out of control around, but she was pulled away until she had gotten her prior question off her chest.

Heaving a shaky breath some of the colour had begun to return to her cheeks. "It's alright, I'm alright, baby's alright." She reassured remaining where she was for the time being. Her arms instinctively went to her abdomen. "J-just tired." It wasn't a lie, but the dizzy spell had certainly thrown her off guard.

After what felt like an eternity, in reality it was only a few moments bites, his sobs died out. He managed to heave a few breathes to calm himself. Shadows ebbed the sides of his vision threatening to overtake. That said he slumped forwards against the half-witch, unconscious. Blood loss usually was a difficult thing for other species of werewolves, the Faoladh was an exception.

Niamh watched the lad for a long second before deciding to reply. "This won't be a part time commitment." She said slowly, flicking a strand of hair from her eyes. " You're either in until he or she is old enough to fend for themselves, or I want you to stay away." He seemed like he could be a kind soul. One who would truly care for the child, but she had to lay down the law. To have someone else there, to have more support, would be lovely, but he had to abide by her rules.

The Chimera parted her lips to speak again when another woman, one who looked quite like Ashton, wandered out of a closed door dragging an unconscious lad with her. She blinked, but didn't question it. The heavy scent of blood filled the air turning her stomach once more. "You're sister?" She murmured once she was out of the room turning her attention back to the Demon.

Having the majority of his injuries seen to the wolf began to stir. His eye lids fluttered open revealing a set of ebony optical meaning one thing: his wolf was in charge. A low growl reverberated from deep with in his chest, the wounds stinging. His dark, scrutinizing eyes flited to the woman. The Irishman grimaced doing his best to push himself into a sitting position.[Rushed]

His touch caused her heart to flutter uncomfortably from within her chest. As the strong smell of iron n filled her sense she nodded in agreement placing the back of a hand over her mouth doing her best to refrain from gagging. "I would check in on them," she mumbled leaning back against the wall.

His onyx gaze narrowed as she did such, but followed her command. Instinctively he reached a hand up to the hand she had placed over his chest and pulled her down onto the bed beside him. A meager task considering how light she seemed. Only then did his growling cease and his eyes fall shut once again. "What is your name, woman?" His voice was hoarse, but still seemed to ring with a sense of power.

Her chilled expression seemed to soften to extent seeing his tender expression blazing through to his warm golden eyes. She slowly nodded slightly squeezing his hands. "That's actually where I'm just coming from," she flushed slightly unused to such attention. She ducked away from his gaze. "I'm a few weeks along compared to a human child, meaning a week or so in my species standards." She lightly bit her lip allowing her espresso locks fall across her face acting a shield. The Irishman lazily shrugged finding himself silent once more. "Jus' curious," he slurred after a few minutes. Her voice helped help to relax and come to realizing with just how exhausted he felt. She had a beautiful voice. Her name was just as lovely to listen roll of her tongue. His arms held her close to his now bare chest. His hair stuck to his pale forehead in disarray. As calloused hands held her to him his breathing slowed tumbling out in an even pattern giving away a look of sleep. If only.
