If only my father was alive... Paris thought. She nonchalantly slipped the gun back into her belt and sat down next to Quin. She pulled her thick blonde hair back into a single, long braid and tied it off with a small green ribbon. She suddenly remembered her bag. Paris scrambled to her feet and retrieved her backpack from the stall across the stables. She sat and opened the front pouch to ensure her photo was still there. An old black and white picture showed her whole family looking back at her. In hindsight, it wasn't the best photo, but it was all she had. Her older sister was pictured looking bored, her mother trying to catch the attention of her younger brother, and a youner version of herself, trying to coax Saber into the picture. Relieved, Paris smiled and quickly zipped her backpack shut.

((Haha! Weird! Did u do that on purpose??))

Saphira nodded towards them. They were all good sized wolves, lean and muscled. "I'm Saphira. From Cithri's pack." (I decided just now that that is her dad :)) she introduced herself, hoping the name of her father meant something to them. "And i amEclipse." he added, bowing his head slightly.

Saphira glanced at the tall black wolf, assuming he and Twi were related. She nodded to the new additions and then set the pace for the remainder of the day's travel.
    ~Later~
Saphira slowed and turned back to Twilight. "If we stop here we have a good 35 miles left. Two days travel at this pace." She said. It was still dark, just before sunrise. "We can rest til nightfall." she added with a glance at Eclipse.

Eclipse's leg was swollen and hot. The fur around the cut was matted down with blood, though it was barely bleeding anymore. He limped slowly over to Twi. "Twilight," he started. "Um, if you don't mind, could you show me those herbs you mentioned earlier?" he smiled, looking almost sheepish.

((AAAH. All of my replies are like two posts late because my ipod is so horribly slow!!! Sorry... some of my posts dont even make sense anymore... grrrrr))

Paris watched Quin walk after Ash. Without a second thought, she stepped up onto the bottom plank of the stall door and threw herself over onto Saber's back. She tied down her backpack, to avoid any extra drag. Her legs were pressed up high against Saber's sides, where a jockey's stirrups would be, if she didn't prefer to ride bareback. Paris leaned forward over her horse's neck, sliding her hands into his fiery mane. "Run." she whispered into his ear. He didn't need to be told twice. Saber streaked out the door, an orange blur against the darkness. His strides were long like a true racehorse, though they had never entered in the races. He easily caught up with Survive. Paris smiled at Ash and Quin, leaned forward, and whispered once more into Saber's left ear. He lifted his front legs and charged forward, momentarily passing Survive. They ran only a few lengths ahead, before Paris pulled Saber to a walk. He wasn't built for distance. There was no way he could keep pace against Survive. Not for long, anyway.

Paris wandered through the crowds, looking around for Quin. She needed money, but without a permanent home, she currently had no way of getting it. Just like the money for medicine, she thought. I take what I need. Nothing more, nothing less... She looked around until she spotted a large crowd of people gathered to her left. Hurriedly, she bustled through the crowd, slamming right into an older man. He was a few inches taller than her but he looked weak and thin. She was pretty sure she could outrun him if need be. He stumbled backwards, and she fell forward against his side. She straightened up. "So sorry!" she apologized with a look of embarrassment. Paris hurried away to inspect the pile of coins now cupped in her hand. She smiled and pocketed the money. A little while later, she spotted Quin sitting on the steps across the road. "Quin!" she called. "I got ya somethin!" She held out a small bag of crackers. "Share with Keco." she instructed with a smile. She turned to see Survive trotting up behind her. "Why is he...?" she trailed off.

Aaawww thank you :) okay. dogs. right.

Paris traced circles along the rippling muscles of Saber's neck. "Faster." she urged quietly, tapping her heels against his sides. He reared with an ear-splitting whinny and thrust his hooves downward, crushing a dog beneath him. Paris shrieked as one nipped at her heels. "Go!" she ordered Saber, panic seeping into her voice. Saber surged forward, falling into step behind Survive. Paris quickly pulled the pistol from her belt and turned just in time to see two wolves approaching quickly behind them. She raised the gun and shot one, then the other. "A little off center.." she mumbled, turning to shoot another right between the eyes.

((ooc: i was looking back thru posts... and when I read the "One of yours?" i read it in phil coulson's voice. "That one of Stark's?" :D))

Eclipse nodded and followed Twi's instructions for dressing the wound. He stood and walked over to Saphira. She raised an eyebrow and stared at him. Trust them? He narrowed his eyes back at her. Be careful. She could be working with Eragon... Saphira nodded. A chill passed through her at the sound of his name. She shook out her silvery white fur and turned back to face Twi and the others.
