Stormblaze scented the familiar scent of Riversky. "Leafheart!" He howled, hoping the she cat would return, so they could follow the scent

He nodded towards the scent trail of Riversky, "We need to follow the trail." He Mewed to Leafheart

Needlefang bristled, "I didnt start this, I was trying to look after this-" She stopped. She had just given her greatest secret to a Darkclan warrior. Needlefang snarled.

"Repeat that to any cat, and your mouse-meat." She spat.

Stormblaze suddenly realized the apprentice was missing. He sniffed and caught his scent, lingering with Riverskys. "This way!" He yowled.

But Stormblaze had heard a yowl, not that far away, and he ran, like he had never before in his life.
"Riversky!" He cried, bounding towards the tiny frail cat on the horizon. He stopped and caught his breath, then looked back to see rogues, appearing from nowhere, three of them.

Needlefang felt the pain and as she was kicked into the dirt, but her mind was on something else. She was reaching out, waiting for the time to come.

They tried to bar his way but he slashed and dived and leaped, soon, only one remained. He streaked towards Riversky, and tried to help her, "Riversky! Riversky!" He panted, then remembered something.

Needlefang parted to let the coyote have the kit. The bed of leaves was still fresh but it was hungry.
