"Well... I know..." She mumbled, shuffling her front paws. "But it can't be worse than back there. I just need to get away sometimes.... out of the confines of my garden and outside of the twoleg den." Speck sat down, looking around again with curiosity. "It's much more peaceful here, and it calms my nerves."

Overwinter
Swiftwind[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;]Overwinter dashed ahead, using the direct route in which proved challenging. His claws could get a firm grip in the hard bark, but he was not used to dragging his weight around.
Swiftwind dashed forward, the powerful muscles in her legs throwing her against a branch and helping her scrabble up towards the mistletoe. Her eyes widened as she neared, but an unsturdy twig broke under her weight and she slipped, gasping in shock.

Overwinter
Swiftwind[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;]Gritting his teeth, the pure white tom forced himself toward a branch and balanced on it for a second, his breath a bit ragged. I haven't climbed a tree like this in forever... He realized, staring up at the prize. Overwinter flicked and ear and peered down, his eyes widened as he noticed that his sister must have fallen. A dread tugged at his heart and he waited until his sister moved before continuing on, knowing that his swift-footed sister would have been angry at him for abandoning the race for such a silly thing. He could obviously see that she was unharmed.
The small she-cat blinked open her eyes, half-expecting to feel pain of some sort, but she could only feel something shifting under her. Catching her breath, Swiftwind rolled off of the tom with a somewhat embarrassed look. "S-Sorry. I lost my footing." Her brown fur was ruffled, and an uneasy look swept over her once gleaming expression, but she seemed to be on her feet well enough.

Overwinter
Swiftwind[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;]Overwinter caught his breath once more as he pounced back to the trunk, pulling his weight even quicker. His sister would get angry with him if he didn't win this- at least, for her. He honestly didn't care for petty wastes of time such as racing.
Scrabbling away with heat burning the tips of her ears, Swiftwind sat down and gazed up sadly to see her brother actually putting some effort into the race. Hope fluttered in her chest, knowing that Overwinter would try his hardest to please his little sister.

Anger blazed in her vibrant green eyes, and she dug her claws in deeper. Speck opened her jaws to retort- to spit something back in the wild cat's face- but she closed her maw with hesitance, knowing she couldn't say anything anyways. Speaking vile-mouthed to a loner would just give her some scars and a limp. Grunting in frustration, Speck turned on her heels deftly and head for the twoleg place, not bothering to pick up her pace, showing her reluctance. Who did that loner cat think she was, speaking to her like that? I would claw off her ears if I could! She fumed brightly.
-
The ginger and white tabby raked past some thick brambles, a tuft of fur catching in one of its thorns, as she made her way toward the tall wooden fence. Old claw marks adorned the twoleg-built wall from her previous returns. Speck caught her breath as she pounced on the wood like prey and made her way up swiftly, her tail flagging behind. As soon as she hurtled over to the other side, she quickly retreated back up as the twolegs- drunk- came crashing toward her, shouting illegible words to the young feline. Speck knew better than to stick around and quickly dashed along the fence, chased by the drunk twoleg male, the screaming female, and their crying children who reached out with gooey fingers.
-
Speck's eyes were wide, reflecting shock like a pool of water might reflect moonlight directly overhead. Shaking her head a bit to try and process what had happened, the she-cat looked to Trouble with a quizzical glare. "I could have outrun them." She stated firmly, standing up. Her fur was bristling from the rush, including since she never bothered to try and run quickly before.

"Twolegs are dumb and slow, they could never catch me." She retorted, her chin up. Though she couldn't help but feel the tom was right. Those twolegs were hostile and prepared to kill, including the drunk one, and if it wasn't for him, she might as well be as useful as a door mat, but she was too proud to admit that she was thankful, and instead looked around curiously. "Is this where loners live?"

[glow=black,2,300]CHAMPION[/glow]
Champion was sitting under the shade of a giant oak, sunlight casting pale dapples across his black pelt. His chin was tilted upwards in a proud manner, and his chocolate brown eyes blazed hotter than the sun. The purebred wasn't in the mood to deal with the crap the others pulled, so instead he resided in his shallow place in his lonesome.
[glow=black,2,300]ESKIMO[/glow]
Eskimo's dark red-brown eyes stared off toward the pale blue sky, following the clouds like they were old memories. The loner didn't care about what the others were doing, and all she wanted to do right now was relax. Sweeping her tail close to her side, the female sighed softly and looked around her.

[glow=black,2,300]CHAMPION[/glow]
Champion cleared his throat after a few minutes of silence and directed his gaze toward the others. For some strange reason, nobody was talking, though usually the female Purebreds would be jabbering on about something that happened to their paws or something.
[glow=black,2,300]ESKIMO[/glow]
The female pushed herself up from where she reclined and head for a small bowl filled with water, taking a small lap from its freezing contents carefully. She didn't know who the humans set it out for, but she just supposed it was for share.

[glow=black,2,300]CHAMPION[/glow]
The border collie heard Rascal's growl and glanced over at the "alpha," his brown gaze curious. Well, it wouldn't matter anyways, since he was a bit away from the group.
[glow=black,2,300]ESKIMO[/glow]
Eskimo felt the burning heat of someone staring, but didn't bother to look. She moved away from the water bowl before anyone could speak up and head for the shaded area, not caring whose "territory" it was.
-
She examined the area with wide green eyes, almost as excited as a kit leaving its mother's belly for the first time. "How does it get better than this? No twolegs, plenty of room for a cat to live in... it's like a paradise!" A gentle purr rumbled in her throat, but she choked it down, collecting herself once more. "I mean... it's nice, but I think a wider den is better."

[glow=black,2,300]CHAMPION[/glow]
Champion strode around the area for a moment his gaze lingering around the picnic area before something lit up in his brain. Pacing around for a moment, the black and white border collie lined himself up with one of the picnic tables, glancing around to see if anyone was watching him. If not, they would probably notice him in a second.

She sighed softly, her reddish eyes gleaming in the sunlight. The wolf-like female didn't bother to look where she was going, and wandered recklessly into one of the clique's areas, sitting down under a shady tree.

Name: Echoed Storm
Age: 26 moons
Gender: She-cat
Nature: Kind-hearted, a bit hot-headed, and yet she is still protective of all her clan mates. She proves to most other cats that even smaller felines should not be dismissed.
Appearance: Echoed Storm is a smaller she-cat, probably up to the forehead of an average-sized cat, with a lithe body and hidden muscles rippling under her short jet black fur. A small fleck of white is on the base of her throat, and her eyes are a crisp, wintry blue, with a darker outline around the irises.
Rank: Guard
Family/Kin: She has no relatives or kin within the clan at the moment.
Mate/Crush: She has no mate, and sort of admires Crashing Claw, but everything will develop in the role play.
Comment: Everything seems well planned out to me. (:
Other: Only faith can decide our path, you know? I may be making her brother, though. -
[glow=black,2,300]CHAMPION[/glow]
Gathering his strength, the black border collie raced forward with a burst of speed and pushed himself off the ground before he could ram himself into the picnic table, not even touching a strand of fur on the table as he landed on the other side, panting a bit heavily while his bright gaze searched around for anyone who might have witnessed his jump.
[glow=black,2,300]ESKIMO[/glow]
Eskimo's ear flicked as she looked to Karma, curiosity flickering in her red-brown gaze. She slowly began to notice he was a Purebred, and so she lowered her ears a bit, making sure that she was ready to spring out of there in case there was a chase.

[glow=black,2,300]CHAMPION[/glow]
Champion beamed back toward Noir, noticing Goldeen was mocking her. Trouble screamed in his ears. Shaking out his long, thick fur he made his way over, looking like he was about to cause havoc, with a toothy grin on his face. "Hey, what are you two up to?" He woofed, already knowing the answer. He cast a quizzical glance towards Goldeen as she- ahem- shook her tail, an invisible eyebrow raised.

The Native American Indian dog waited for a response from Karma, but her gaze was cautiously set on the german shepherd male.

[glow=black,2,300]CHAMPION[/glow]
"Well, that's not how I would treat another dog, but..." He cast a semi-empathetic glance toward Noir and Arin. "Please excuse some canines' behaviors, it's a very warm, muggy day out, and a lot of us are in some less desirable moods." Champion smiled softly, his brown eyes warm.

ooc;; Sure, I wouldn't mind.
ic;; Her ginger ear flicked as she looked at the other feline curiously. "My twolegs' den was big, but it was still warm." Speck pointed out, her whiskers twitching as though she were scenting for a piece of prey.
