[fancypost borderwidth=0pt; font-size: 11px; font-family: georgia; text-align: justify; width: 470px; text-transform: lowercase; color: black; ]I watched as the girl made her way to the counter. she seemed to give off a 'stay away' vibe. even the way she walked conveyed the gloom that hung over her. I observed her features, ink black hair complimented with icy blue eyes. she was undoubtedly beautiful but slightly frightening. she wasn't overbearingly menacing but enough that made me hesitant to even look at her. my heart skipped a beat when she spoke. I made eye contact with her for a moment before putting her order in. "alright, coming right up!" I managed to say. I wasn't acting my usual self. I reminded myself that she was just a person and slowly reverted to my normal attitude. matt stood over me for a minute as he walked by, then disappeared to make the orders.
When matt returns with her caramel latte he elbows me before leaving again. I shot him a look before looking at the girl. I handed her the drink then said, "Hey, it's Charlotte right? Drink's on the house, consider it a welcoming gift." A smile spread across my lips and before she could turn to leave I added, "Have a great day!" what would she say to that? I usually acted as cheery but maybe it was a tad too much this time? no. I was overthinking everything. relax. she's just a person.
