    OOC: Blackscar lifted her nose up and sniffed the air.
    "What is it?" Lemmonpaw cocked her head and flicked her tail. Blackscar only ever looked like that when she could smell something that meant bad news.
    Blackscar shook her head, attempting to clear it, "It's nothing," she mewed quietly, trying to ignore the stench of the neighbouring clan cats, "Probably just a boarder patrol."
    Lemmonpaw flicked her tail, suspicious of what Blackscar actually thought of the smell, but said nothing. She knew better than to question Blackscar, who'd gotten most of her scars from her short temper starting fights.

    IC: Blackscar followed the cats, her mind buzzing. the smell had been too strong and too close to have been a border patrol. But she didn't want to worry the kits. She decided to tell the deputy later.
    Lemmonpaw bounded ahead, leaping over logs, branches and rocks. She paused, for a moment, her fur slowly bristling. Blackscar started to worry that another clan cat was in their territory. Lemmonpaw shot away from them so fast, and so swiftly, it was like she'd never been there. Only a few leaves swaying from her movement shed what direction she'd gone.
    A moment later, Lemmonpaw was back where she'd started, looking back at her mentor with wide hopeful eyes. In her mouth was a squirrel, and a large one at that. It had clearly eaten it's fare share of green-leaf food.
    Blackscar's eyes smiled and she flicked her tail approvingly, "As quick as always, Lemmonpaw," She complimented, "You'll make a fine warrior someday."
    Lemmonpaw hardly seemed to notice the 'someday' and leapt into the air with excitement, and turned, trotting off to camp.
    Blackscar shook her head as she followed the kit. Someday, she thought, But not yet...

    IC: Blackscar looked up at him, "The shadowclan cats? Yeah," She turned her scarred face away and watched the kits trot off, "I'm going to tell the deputy about it as soon as we get back to camp. It was just... too close... I think they might be running low on food over there again..."
    She trailed off, thinking about what would happen if another war broke out among the clans. She knew it wouldn't be good.

    IC:Black scar watched the apprentices drop their food in the pile, then grab a mouse each and trot over to their friends. She slowly turned her head from them, and calmly followed Shadowslink into the leader's den. She always felt suddenly calm around Rockstar. She'd been taught by her mother to be respectful of those higher rank than you, so she had forced herself to until it came naturally. She was calm and anyone who knew her well could notice the difference in her speech when she spoke to Rockstar.

    IC: Blackscar stepped up beside Shadowslink, "I think that they were a bit too close to be just a border patrol, personally. I don't want to think about intruders, because the scent didn't cross our border, it may have just been a hunting group that had to go a bit further to catch something, but may I suggest that we send out extra patrols for a few days, just to be sure.'
