Yao puffed himself out on instinct. He was going to die. Kiku was going to die. They were going to die.

(Some kind of robotic machine thing with facial expressions. I am vaguely reminded of the Hound.)
The machine made some kind of noise, as though metal inside of its interior was clanking together in a way that resembled chattering. Then it lunched itself at them.

I forgot. Sorry. Alright, Gilbert would be a hunter.

It had whammed itself into the cave wall, but seemed to take no damage. It recoiled from the rock and turned to face Kiku. It appeared to be scowling.

What about the younger members of the flock? For example, Peter, do they contribute?

Yao dazed after being pushed into the wall and hitting his head, looked at the machine. It was not facing him, which meant that it was going after Kiku. Yao felt his chest constrict.

Nice, hopefully with some supervision.

Yao did not know what to do. He was nearly paralyzed with fear. However, once the creature jumped again some part of him snapped back.

Yao had to get the machine away from Kiku. He picked up one of the stones and throw it at the metal exterior.

Yao attempted it once more, grabbing an even larger stone this time. He hurled it at the head of the machine.

(What is up with this machine's obsession?!?)
Yao, having no other option, ran up to the massive thing and jumped onto its leg.

(In all defense to Kiku, I say they are pretty close in power level.)
Yao tried again, being stubborn. He climbed upwards and tried to make dents in the machine.

I can't think of anymore right now.

Yao laid still, trying to recollect his thought. The machine moved closer to the two.
