The three kits, Berrykit, Spotkit, and Darkkit walked near the highrock. They were nervous, but excited. Who would be their mentor? Would they be kind? Will I be strong? These were just a few of the questions thought of in the cats' minds.
"I do." the brown-and-white cat mewed.
The newly-named apprentice nodded, and went down the Highrock, a bit of glee in his jump.
"I do." the kit mewed, nodding his head.
Spotkit walked up to the Hghrock. "I do." the white kit nodded, both her blue eyes shutting.

Spotpaw store awkwardly. She felt so different, but why? All she was now was a bit more serious. She turned to Berrypaw, who was looking up at the sun, pride appearing in his eye. "You excited?" Spotpaw asked. "Totally. I just.... I've waited for this a long time, y'know? It's amazing!" Berrypaw store at Darkpaw. "I just wish Darkpaw got more time as a kit. He had that kitten-cough for an entire moon." "Whoa there, we aren't serious yet. We're only beginning apprentices." Spotpaw laughed. "I know, I know." Berrypaw laughed.
"Sure!" Spotpaw grinned. "Nah." Berrypaw yawned. "Berrypaw. You. Are. Coming." Spotpaw grabbed him tail with her paw. "Same for you, Darkkit."
"Alright, is that it or can I go meet Silverleaf." the brown-and-white apprentice yawned. "Berrypaw! You're so disrespectful!" Spotpaw glared. "Sorry, mom." Berrypaw hissed. "Toms and shes, calm down." a mostly-white tom jumped in between them. "We'll never sleep." Spotpaw sighed.
Spotpaw went outside to Snowheart. "Oh, sure!" the kit grinned.
"Um, sure." the white she-kit lifted her paw.
"I don't smell anything, but I think I hear a bird." the apprentice whispered.
Spotpaw unsheathed her claws and went into a crouch. Her tail was flickering, but she guessed it would make a lot of noise, so she lowered it down to be in line with her body.
Spotkit saw a bird, sitting, her face at its back. She started to creep along the wood's grass, and leaped at the bird, digging her claws into the neck of the winged fellow.
Spotpaw put the bird onto the fresh-kill pile. She grinned, feeling victorious.
Snowpaw went to lay her head down in the apprentice's den. She thought about how much meaning she had, she would soon be a warrior....
