"Oh, why to- uhhhh..... Because I can...?" Aku's hand searched for the back of his head. "I just like to be prepared I guess. Heh. Anyway," his hand came back down to his side, "What brings you out to these parts? It's not everyday you see someone out here, especially in the evening." he said steadily. It was odd to see someone in the Lullidin woods, and the boy did seem a little suspicious, but to Aku, he was just some lost kid who needed a little care taking. Seriously? A thin scarf like that in the dead of winter? That was just preposterous to the half Beartic. He was never too cold himself, but despite this boy's constant defiance, it was obvious that he could probably feel next to nothing.

At this, a soft chuckle escaped the teen's pale, frozen lips, and he looked down at the boy. "The names Aku. Nice to meet 'cha!" he said, again holding out his cinnamon mittened hand.
"You're right though, that's for sure. Nights out here are not nights to miss." His eyes distractedly flicked up towards the sky, then back at the boy in front of him, and eventually made their way to the bow that the boy was resting upon his shoulder. Its shiny surface was wet with snow, and little islands of the ice crystals rested upon the top and sides. "Say," he asked, "You hunt? That's pretty cool, I wouldn't have expected that from someone like you, Er, not that I'm underestimating you or anything," he said, waving a paw in front of himself, "What do you hunt anyway?"

Aku's icy eyes widened a bit and the corners of his lips curled into a smile.
"Woah, easy there, buddy! I just, wasn't expecting... Ah, what the heck. Never mind. Anyway," suddenly, his head snapped to the side as if he had noticed something in the endless blank of frozen shimmering ice crystals. The part Beartic's eyelids squinted a little and he stooped his head forward a little to try to improve his vision. His strong grip rested on Cornelius' shoulder in an attempt to get his attention and Aku muttered, "Hey, do you see that?" Aku's stare led to a barely legible shadow slowly trudging against the darkening horizon; behind the serene, snow capped evergreens and trees.

"I don't..." Aku started to say, but cut himself short when he turned his head to see a bow aiming Cornelius ready to shoot. "Woah woah woah! For heaven's sake, what if that's a kid or somthi-" at this, Aku was again cut short at the sound of an "energy release" and an explosion of the snow between him and the boy. An icy cloud arose from the ground and the chill stung the teenager's nose. Aku immediately, instinctively even, assumed a position at ready.
"Welp, I guess that 'aint a kid!"
The figure continued towards them, almost staggering against the fresh beginnings of a flurry, or blizzard.

Time seemed to slow as the arow spliced through the chilly air towards it's victim to be.
Aku didn't even have time to blink before an ear piercing howl arose in the night. At the horrible sound, the anthromorphic flinched and covered his face and ears with his hat, to say, he pulled it down over them. After a second he looked up to see a pair of glowing red eyes shoot through the dark. Shouldn't it be...gone?
Impulsively, Aku's hands started glowing with icy power, and the next second, he shot a ball of ice that sailed towards the figure with gusto. His heavy breath swirled out of his mouth in the cold as he watched the figure fall. With wide eyes, Aku stared, dazed in a trance at the inky shadow. He started running towards the figure.
"Not dead, just unconscious. Not dead, just unconscious. Not dead, just unconscious," he muttered to himself.

His hand reached to check for a pulse on the tiny shadow' s neck. A soft thumping sensation overcame his now un-mittened hand, and Aku sighed a breath of relief he didn't even realize he was holding within him.
"Just unconscious..." he said to himself. In the fading sunlight, it was hard to see the figures face, but Aku could just barely make out features in it. When his eyes adjusted, he noticed that the figure was indeed a young person, not a child, but a young person. For some reason, out of curiosity, Aku gently lifted open one of the person's eyelids, but nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw the crystalline eye. A deep purple surrounded a triangle shaped pupil that was spinning, and it was just all around creepy.
"What the..." breathed Aku. He turned his head to see Cornelious standing near him.
"Hey, come take a look at this," he said, motioning for him to come closer.

Aku would never admit to it, but he screeched when he saw the clammy, white hand tightly gripping his equally icy one. He nearly Mega Punched it off out if fear, then jumped back. The hand returned to it's owners side; next to its furry coat. Its eyes remained closed but flinched a little.
"Wh-Wha?" Aku's frosty irises flicked to the girl's head, and he noticed somthing odd.
"It's an anthropomorphic Eevee." He said quietly.

Suddenly, Aku snapped back to reality after zoning out. He looked up at Cornelious with a shocked expression.
"What in the world are we doing?!? This person needs medical attention! Cornelius! Hey, Cornelious? Are you even listening?!" Cornelious' eyes blincked a few times, then gazed up at Aku.
"What?"
Aku's feet lifted off of the ground and he landed headfirst, backwards after making a strange, high pitched sound. His reaction was so unexpected, that Cornelius took a step back in surprise.
"PWAHHHHH. I was saying that we need to get her to the hospital. Or just get her medical attention. There's a medicine person not to far from here, but its not all that professional. Here, I'll take her arms if you can take her feet."
Aku lifted the pokehuman's arms into his own then looked up at a fake sleeping Cornelius. With eyes closed, a perfect bubble protruded from his nose for effect.
At this, a crimson, bright beam of disbelief shot from Aku.
