//I have been so excited to post this
Suddenly, Avorio snapped awake. She was in the forest, a thick fog choking the life around her. It was cold and the only light came from a full moon. In front of her stood a cherry blossom tree. It was illuminated softly, contrasting against the night. The pink blossoms were scattered generously across each branch except one. This bare branch was dry and withered. From it hung a piece of old rope.
It was then that Lady realized she was dreaming, but never before had she dreamed as vividly as this.
'It's beautiful,' a soft voice commented from behind the bronze femme. 'But it marks such a sad moment. Isn't it strange how the most breathtaking things are often the most forlorn? I'm Elarilly, by the way.'
A wolf padded to Avorio's side and looked up at the tree with a sad smile.
'I'm dreaming,' Lady stated. 'Aren't I?'
'Yes, but I'm real. Medics usually have this sort of dream, but I needed to take this directly to you, Avorio,' Elarilly explained. 'But first, you must be wondering a few things.'
Lady knew should be sceptical about Elarilly's words, but there was a sense of calm in the atmosphere that told her what the wolf said was, and would be, entirely true.
'You know my name,' Avorio meowed, turning her attention away from the tree and toward the wolf.
'Yes. I've been the following the Skulls since you movd from your old territory. I know all of you to some degree,' Elarilly answered. Her voice was level and undeniably soothing. 'I've been trying to contact your Clanmates, but it isn't easy. I was the one your friends could hear whispering, but they couldn't understand me. I came to you because you have the Sight. We can talk face-to-face.'
'I'm assuming there's something you need to tell us, then.'
'Yes. It isn't good,' Elarilly suddenly looked very troubled. 'I'm a spirit, meaning once upon a time, I was alive. I lived here with my pack many, many years ago. My twin brother, Raxas, and I grew up here. We were close as pups, but as we grew older, our personalities changed. I became fascinated by the natural beauty of life, and I devoted my time to learning about herbs. Raxas found a thirst for success within himself and became driven by ambition.
'By the time we were twelve months old, I was given to a neighbouring pack's Alpha as a peace treaty. Raxas didn't want that. He argued that the neighbouring pack should have been taken by force rather than with peace. Our father told him that it dangerous to think in such a way, but eventually, more and more people sided with Raxas, who had grown angrier as time went by. His pack soon attacked mine and he was overcome with ferocious rage.'
'Raxas was injuring my packmates, so I confronted him. I told him that violence wouldn't solve anything, but his urge to kill blinded him. He didn't recognize me. Raxas... He leapt at my throat and killed me.'
'He buried me here. Beneath the cherry tree that is forever in blossom. The dead branch is where he hung himself,' the she-wolf finished morosely. 'In death, we were reunited, but Raxas and I are distant. He is still driven by ambition, and I am his opposite.'
'I'm sorry...' Avorio looked down. The feline remembered her own twin brother. Jerikho was out there somewhere. Maybe he was dead, Lady didn't know.
'I am too,' Elarilly sighed, before standing up, clearly frightened, very suddenly. 'I don't have much time left. Listen to me: Your Clan is in danger. Raxas's spirit wishes to harm your people. Four horsemen will attack in turn till fire's blood is spilt.'
Avorio woke up in her room on the mansion's top floor, breathing hard, Elarilly's parting words echoing in her mind.
'SKULLS! I NEED YOU UP HERE!' the leader called, carrying her voice across the territory with Super Senses.
