"tag along...?" seto blinked, taking a few moments to think. 'do i need to do anything at home? emailing boyslove - i mean mary - isn't important anymore, so...' flashing a bright smile, seto nodded, and pointed at his bike. "sure! i'll tag along! uhm...we can get there faster if we use my bike...i'd be really careful, i swear. or if you just want to walk beside it while i ride...that would be fine too."

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]seto nodded, letting out a little chuckle. "yeah, i figured you'd want to just walk. that thing doesn't really look stable..." he let his eyes wander over the rust-caked bike, letting out a sigh. "oh well. at least i have a bike." shrugging, he walked over to his bike and stood it up, kicking the rock out of the way as he mounted it. "ready to go?"

    [fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia][ thanks. ]

"oh...uhm...of course. hold on a sec..." this would be easier if i had one of those baskets on my bike. i think she's small enough to fit in one of those. or if i had a sidecar... releasing another sigh, the boy scooted forward on the seat as much as he could, creating more than enough space for mary to ride with him. "is this okay?"

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]seto tensed for a moment before nodding once, letting himself relax a little. once he felt felt mary's small arms wrap around his abdomen, he adjusted his position on the seat and began pedaling down the street. for the most part, he was silent, aside from the shaky breaths he let out every once in a while. seto's back was comfortably warm from mary pressing against him, and the thought almost made him hyperventilate. he'd never been this close to a girl before -- or anyone, for that matter. a few minutes later, the supermarket came into view. seto pulled up to the bike rack and stopped, carefully getting off. "very nice day for a bike ride, huh?"

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]"oh...thank you." seto took a moment to look at the choices on the drink machine (or whatever the hell it's called), then poinred at the button with a picture of a soda can. "i can get it myself, if you give me the money. that is, if you don't mind..." 'i hope that didn't sound as rude as i think it did.'

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]blushing, seto carefully took the money from her, slipping the dollar bills into the slot on the machine. he pressed the button, and, in a matter of seconds, the soda came tumbling down into the compartment. the boy reached in and pulled it out, smiling a little as he listened to it fizzle for a second. for some reason, he'd always liked that sound. he didn't know why. he took a gulp of the liquid, blinking as the fizz stung his eyes. "so i guess i should get you home, mary-chan."

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]"have dinner with you...? uhm..." seto blinked for a few moments, his grip on the soda can slackening. 'she wants me to...come to her house and...have dinner...with her...whoa.' shaking his head, the boy snapped out of his daze, giving mary a bright smile. "sure! that sounds great! what time should i be there? i'm sure shuuya and tsubomi will want to come, too, since we usually just have whatever we can find in the fridge." he chuckled lightly. "do you need to call your parents? i have my cell phone here, if you need to call."

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]'i must have said the wrong thing.' seto couldn't help but feel guilty as she bowed her head, but shook it off when she asked about his family. 'there aren't any food allergies, as far as i know, and they won't care about what you make, as long as it's a home cooked meal."

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]"that sounds fine." seto smiled, then gestured towards the bike. "you want me to go ahead and get you home? you'll have plenty of time to decide there."

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]"alright. let's go ,then." the boy pulled his bike out into the sidewalk, taking a seat on the edge to give mary room. once her arms were around him, he pedaled off, reaching hr house a few minutes later. "so," he said, looking back with a smile, "i'll see you later."

[fancypost bgcolor= ; border: 0px; width: 350px; text-align: justify; font-size: 7pt; font-family: georgia]the boy slid back on the seat with a sigh, the cheerful smile there to stay. he glanced over at the house before riding off, humming a tune to himself. seto hadn't been truly happy in a long while, and the feeling was nice. 'if only sis were here to see this all play out.' he shrugged that thought off, deciding not to think about it. he wanted to let himself be happy for a while, and that's what he'd do.

    [ end of chapter / timeskip ]

seto slid off of his bike as soon as mary's house came into view, instructing his brother and sister to do the same. tohether, they pushed their bikes toward an old tree nearr the front door and leaned them up against it. seto walked to the front door, raising his hand to knock. "mary-chan," he called out, "it's seto."
