    Moonlightstar gritted her teeth and shut her eyes tightly. "Why now, StarClan?" She muttered under her breath. The silver and white tabby stumbled over to the medicine den with great difficulty, the pain now growing. She flopped to the ground ungracefully, shifting sideways. She knew, from experience, that sticks were extremely useful.
    There was one near her, but she couldn't reach it.
    Just my luck. She thought, managing a huff of annoyance before she felt one last, sharp kick and knew that her kits were definitely coming.




    Harlequinpaw padded around, the wind ruffling his soft brown fur.

    She spotted Ashfire and listened closely to the medicine cats instructions. The first kit was born, a large, solid black feline that would have brilliant golden eyes. She was reminded instantly of Neverstar.
    "Vaultkit." The leader decided, panting. Soon the next kit was born, a smaller she-kit whose melt was of white and obsidian. A beautiful little daughter, and a strong son. "Nightkit." Moonlightstar murmured, green eyes tightly shut. The little white and black kit was almost identical to her mother, Merryheart. Then there was a lithe brown tabby, almost as big as Vaultkit, and Moonlightstar knew immediately what to name her. "Sunkit." The she-kit was unique, a whole wonder in her own right. But Moon was almost finished. Nearly all of her precious children had been born. "Fallenkit." That was the name of her next little daughter, a small silver lynx point, the smallest of the litter as of yet. Moon smiled, but it was rather bittersweet, reminded of the little sibling that had died before been apprenticed. But then there was a slender blue lynx point, and Moonlightstar decided to name her after the Stargazer, who had aided them all so much. "Starkit." One little one left, she was sure of it. And then the last kitten was born. "Twilightkit." The leader decided, all of her energy spent. Twilight, after her older brother. She began to groom them all softly, making sure to allow them to be able to suckle easily.




    The little kit was petite and tiny, the runt of the litter, as was plain to see. When her eyes opened, they would be the plain, dull blue that all kittens optics were until about 3 moons of age, when all kits eyes started to take on the permanent colour of adulthood that was unique and all their own. Twilightkit Enlightened was a slim silver lynx point, and she mewled loudly. She may have been small, but she was pretty loud! She felt warm bodies beside her own, the forms of her brothers and sisters. Ears were plastered to her cranium, and she pushed forwards, trying to get to her mothers belly. But next to the bigger forms of her squirming siblings, she was fruitless.

    Moonlightstar glanced up wearily at the medicine cat and smiled, though was tired. "They are, aren't they?" The silver tabby purred softly, vibrant green optics calm and bright. Looking up, she spotted a bewildered, harried looking Candyfangs and couldn't help but chuckle. "I'm fine. They're beautiful, aren't they?" A smile crept onto her maw as she watched her children fight, and gently she moved them so that they could suckle easily. She was rather insecure about this, but she would do her best. Even if she was clumsy, reckless and headstrong.




    Finally! The others near her, that had been blocking her way, had moved. She now did not hesitate to shove them aside-but then again, she couldn't move them, let alone shove them-and began to suckle. Sighing happily. She felt the warm liquid trickle down her throat and she began to feel less hungry. Such a sorry scrap of fur, tiny and scrawny, and with her fur plastered to her tiny frame, she looked weak and vulnerable. Moonlightstar was reminded of Candyfangs in the little silver lynx point, although her sister had grown tall and strong.

Opening her mouth to speak, she was distracted by the frustrated yowls of little Sunkit. Laughter bubbled up, unbidden, from the leaders throat, and she grinned. "I see you'll be a ferocious warrior, little one." Moonlightstar meowed, nudging Vaultkit to the side slightly so that the brown tabby kit could get closer.

    "Everyone, please listen up!" The silver and white tabby called. "First, sadly, some demotions. Enchantedpaw, I am sorry, but I have to revoke your position of medicine cat apprentice. I have barely seen you around at all and, while harsh, all medicine cats and their apprentices must be active. Tarnishedpaw, you are being demoted to an apprentice, as you are not upholding you position of an Alumnus. All Guard and Spies are being demoted, except for Cloudyskies and Northernsky. And you can be repromoted possibly at the tryouts-which I'll mention later. Also, some reminders. Mistystreets, Smallcloud and Sonicboom, even Mistgaze and Cloudysky, you are falling inactive and you all hold either high positions or semi high positions. There are others who would be good to promote. Speaking of which, we are going to have Alumnus tryouts." Now for the part she'd been thinking over. "I'd also like to announce that the Guard and Spy positions are now no longer separate. They will be joined together to be the Guardians, and will have to work twice as hard, having the duty of both Spy and Guards. There may also be tryouts for that position, as well." The tabby took a deep breath, and realised how much she had said. But yet there was still more.


    "If there is any ceremonies needed, please tell us. Warrior, apprentice, name changing, etcetera...it wouod be best to hold them now. But also, another extremely important matter demands our attention. Thornclan, The Clan of Sailing Stones and Elementclan have merged with us. Not all clans are in their full numbers...in Elementclan there was a fire and earthquake, and more than half of the members are missing, presumed dead." Moonlightstar was deeply saddened at the thought. "Please make them welcome." Stepping back, the female nodded to her fellow leaders and flicked her long, white-tipped tail. "Captainstar, Neverstar, anything to add?"

The silver tabby observed her sister padding away before turning to glance back at her kits. Green eyes widening, she couldn't help but stare at Sunkit's newly opened optics. Amber optics, crystalline and vibrant, glittering and clear, like crystals so delicate and fragile yet held with a shimmering fire that would no doubt take anyone's breath away. "StarClan." Moonlightstar murmured, transfixed by the blazing amber jewels.

The silver tabby flicked her white tipped tail away from the young cat that was swatting at it. "Go away, you little fiend." Moonlightstar joked. Soon, all of her children were gathered around her, and she grinned. "What do you lot want, a story or something?" She asked with a chuckle.
    "How did our clan start?" It was Twilightkit, the smallest yet most daring and bold of the litter. Moonlightstar looked away, and sighed.
    "Very well."


    Once, they were slaves, imprisoned by their own clan. Escaping, they fled, only to find themselves dividing into three separate groups.
    MoonlightClan, DawnlightClan and TwilightClan.
    But they were defeated by the very thing that had kept them safe-their homes. Fleeing once more, they managed to form Plethoraclan, and this clan is now stronger than ever.

    She watched as her little-well, Sunkit wasn't actually that small-daughter began to explore, and purred as the brown tabby embraced her. She curled her tail around the little citrine-eyed kitten, not wanting her to get hurt on her first few hours of life.




    Twilightkit could sense that something was different. The bold little minx struggled and wriggled and squirmed, frustrated to no end. Fiery determination sparking deep within her, the tiny silver lynx point's eyes suddenly snapped open, and she squealed as a flood of light attacked her senses. Blinking rapidly, the small felines optics finally adjusted, and they were revealed to be a pair of breathtaking sapphire irises. Azure and clear, glittering and crystalline, a perfect deep, smooth shade of sapphire, she gazed around at the world in awe.

She praised the ShadowClan warrior. Turning back to Twilightkit and Sunkit, her smile broadened. "Indeed, the two of them have. Little Sunkit is white the fighter!" Chuckling to herself, the silver and white tabby watched as Sunkit threatened her aunt in a ferocious manner.

    She heard him speak of his blindness, and then Aldertree bristled. "Well, glad I'm not the only one." The sentence could have been friendly, but it was spoken harshly. Anything that reminded her of her failure to help her clan made her temper short. Aldertree was saddened at the fact that Tarnishedpaw had been demoted, but it couldn't be helped. "When are the tryouts?" The odd-eyed feline asked.




    Moonlightstar put her head on one side. "They begin today. Tryouts will be held on the plains. I will also be choosing a Head Guardian, and that will be a semi high position or a high position, it depends on what goes on at the tryouts." The silver tabby replied.
