[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]Blackjack mentally thwacked himself for not mentioning what the invite was to. "Ah, my apologies," he said, "it's to a meet and greet. Egretstar figured that since we are trying each other out as allies, it would not be a bad idea to get to know everyone. If you choose to decline the invitation, that's fine too!" He could only hope that Io and Callisto would accept his invite; after all, the more allies on their side, the better.

"I figure that I should mention the Blackhearts Rogues will be attending as well. I'm not sure where you stand with them, but I can only ask that none of your members will quarrel with theirs."

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]"I'd like to welcome you as well," Blackjack said, giving the newest Hawkclan member a grin. "Just to let you know - we are obliged to have an auto-acceptance policy. So whenever somebody's on the border, you can go ahead and accept 'em! If you ever need anything, let me know. I'm sure Quickfire wouldn't mind as well."

[justify][size=9pt]Blackjack preferred not to speak whilst in a battle. Although he was usually loud and bubbly, he had grown solemn and quiet within the past week; this added some sprinkles on top to his quietness. The large animal prowled up next to Jonas and would attempt to help out his smaller canine friend. He let out a large roar before attempting to [color=#b34482]lunge forward and bite the back of Yuri's neck.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]Blackjack could not say he had the same experience Tumultdusk. Or... Pollux, as others had referred him. He did not like to associate his mentor with the name. It was a cursed name to the male's ears. He'd interacted with the unfamiliar Pollux before, but he was pretty sure the older male had tried to kill him. Then there were the happy memories of Tumultdusk: specifically, the ex-deputy teaching him how to swim. He thought that Pollux would be dead by now.

"Welcome back then, I suppose," he would murmur as he walked over to the fox. "My name is Blackjack. Let me know if you every need anything. I would not suggest getting familiar with our current territory... we are moving soon."

[justify][size=9pt]Blackjack was taken slightly off-guard as Yuri flew into the air. He'd not taken note of how the Shadowclanner possessed butterfly wings. It did not take him long to re-focus on the feline, though. A large disadvantage came to him, though; lions, among other big cats, were unable to tilt their heads back (I think). That meant he had not been suspecting the golf-ball sized chunks of earth to hit him. The first landed successfully on his muzzle. A sharp pain flew to the area and Blackjack winced. However, the other three were heavily suspected from Yuri, especially after he saw the second one fly down. He had been able to dodge those.

"Being a pussy now, are we?" The lion muttered to himself under his breath. The last power he had was manipulation of molecules, but that was over three years ago and he'd forgotten how to use it by now. Another deep growl escaped from his throat.

(rip blackjack no powers except maybe molecule manip that i bought for him forever ago and don't have anymoreee)

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]"Mmm. That's good to hear." Blackjack exclaimed with a large smile. This one he really meant; with Jazzband's approval on Hawkclan, it meant that they could possibly be in the clear. According to her, it was wonderful and she had longed for this place. Sure, she'd not been here more than a week, but the praise his birthplace was receiving made the lion's heart swell with joy. It seemed odd to be happy nowadays.

His mind quickly snapped out of the euphoria he was experiencing. Blackjack was supposed to be taking a newer member of Hawkclan hunting - not to a trip down memory lane. "Where did you live before Hawkclan, if you don't mind me inquiring?" He would ask softly, feet continuing to shuffle against the ground. He didn't really know where he was going, but there were plenty of deer scattered around the territory. It would be a surprise if they didn't run into one.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]A meet and greet? Blackjack hadn't been seeing many of those around in a while. However, he would settle down next to the Chief without saying a word. There was no need to introduce himself as of yet, anyways. Egretstar had known him since his return, and he had accepted Tempus back into the clan. The aviator trainee was pretty sure he had introduced himself at both events.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]Blackjack listened closely to Misspaw as the boy made his announcement. Although the aviator trainee didn't want to be rude, his name was rather suited to be a female's name. Although transgender was not female, it certainly was a step in the correct direction. He gave a large grin to the blind feline and felt somewhat stupid for doing so, though nonetheless would continue to smile.

"Yes, they're both right. You may find some who will not support you, but remember one thing if anything: Hawkclan is your family. We'll be here for you whenever you need it!" He would rumble from deep within his throat. "And anybody who doesn't support you, well, I'll kick their butts for it!"

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]The aviator trainee's ears perked forward as Egretstar made her announcements. He certainly agreed about the herb training session. There were no set medics as of yet, and although Kururi was doing a fine job of filling the position, Hawkclan needed somebody to fill the job full-time. He was even a bit sad that Jorah disappeared. He figured that the small serval would have become the apprentice. However, there was not much he could do to change that. The lion sat and waited to find out if the Chief would say anything further.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]There weren't many to show up to the meeting, quite literally. The only people within the clan to hold any sort of name involving 'aviator' were himself, Kururi, and Quantum. As Blackjack padded over, that meant Quantum would be the last to arrive. He felt somewhat awkward being there as well; he had talked to his boss before, but had never been alone with her before. However, the lion knew he would be working closely with the female in the near future. Why not strike up a conversation whilst waiting for the wolf?

"Hi, Kururi," he spoke towards the girl with a smile, "how are you? Nice weather we're having."

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]"Call me Jack if you wish, though my full name is Blackjack. I will respond to either. Welcome to Hawkclan!" The large beast would say as he walked over to Isabelle, Bitterblue, and Tiredwinters. He made a mental note to call Tiredwinters by the name of 'Henry' - he'd never seen the male before, but would more than likely interact with him in the near future. His attention quickly went back to Isabelle.

"What clan are you from originally, if you don't mind me asking?"

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]He swore that he caught almost everything that came through Hawkclan's camp. He'd done it when he was younger and had never really grown out of his tendencies to do so. After all, Blackjack had never been taught it was wrong to be involved in drama. This particular group caught his attention, though, and he stood up and walked over to them.

"If he says he is fine, then I believe him to be fine." Blackjack shot a sideways glance toward Tiredwinters. The male certainly did not look fine, but if the lion was in his position, he would have felt overwhelmed. "Please. Leave him alone." His dull yellow gaze swept over Bitterblue and he gave a warning look to the girl. She especially seemed to be trying to dig in deep.

    [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]Well. Shit.

Blackjack almost wished he had powers. Note the important word there: almost. In situations like these, where some events could be life-threatening, he wanted nothing more than to make everything easier on everybody else. However, he knew that good warriors came from hard work; perhaps he could get others to help clean up this mess. The mess from this fucking explosion. How in the world would they put out the fire?

"Jesus, what happened?" He questioned in the direction of Kururi as he padded over, a concerned look on his face. "I heard an explosion..." Blackjack trailed off as he overlooked the spitting flames. He did not care much, though; they were leaving in a couple of days for the new territory. What did matter nowadays?

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]Blackjack listened to what Egretstar had to say. He seemed to be staring off into space for a few minutes; a somewhat uncomfortable (on his end) silence fell over the pair. He bit his lip nervously. The Chief had just offered to take care of his children - was she implying something? Maybe she was referencing some sort of vacation time for the male? A bite to the tongue bit him off guard and he told himself to stop being so nervous around Egretstar.

"I think I would like to..." He trailed off and began to bite on his lower lip a bit. What did he want to do? Whatever he had don't in this life he had done for those he loved. Blackjack supposed it was time to do something for himself now. What seemed like a million different possibilities flew threw the male's head at one time. It gave him a small headache, but he banished the thought of pain from his mind. "I would like to..." He said once more, before a frown crossed his maw.

"I would like to leave. Not forever, but I think... visit another clan. For some time, probably no more than a week. I will come back right after. But I think I need to clear my mind of everything. If you could watch over Ana and Morning, that'd be... amazing. Not necessarily take care of them - they are old enough to do that. If they ask where I have gone, you can tell them the truth. I've gone to rid my mind of their mother. That's only if everything is okay with you as well." The lion looked expectantly at Egretstar. In all honesty, he kind of wished she wouldn't let him go. He did not want to leave Hawkclan for even a minute. He knew when something, anything was good for him.

This would be good for him.

(sorry, i've had 0 muse for private threads)

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]"No need to be so rude," Blackjack said towards Twilighttime under his breath as he padded over. He thought the fox would not be so horrible at first, but she seemed pissy and aggressive. He could only hope that she would discontinue her short temper. He knew people, though. People didn't change.

"My name is Blackjack. What can Hawkclan do for ya?" He would instantly direct towards Jaune. It was odd to look at the tom and Jack instantly screwed his eyes together. This guy looked familiar... but he could not place his tongue on it.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]The lion gave a slight nod to Bitterblue as he trotted over. He read through the note just as she had. Blackjack could not see why Egretstar would reject the invitation, but he still supposed it would be better for a higher-ranking member to approve of this anyways. He would more than likely not attend - Hawkclan was going through too much shit right now to worry about a party.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]Blackjack hoped Egretstar wouldn't mind. No, he knew she wouldn't. Activity was dropping in Hawkclan and he would not stand and watch it become nothing. He decided to take action. He caused a bit of commotion near the center of camp, hoping to draw some attention to himself.

"WEEKLY TASKS!" He would bellow out, a grin on his maw. "These will last until... July 25th. Anybody who shows themselves will get one, whether you request one or not. Besides, these can possibly go towards your points for the competition!"

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]A low grunt came from within Blackjack as he awoke. The male had been enjoying his time within the sequoia forest, basking in the spot where sunlight was able to shine through the canopy. He knew he would immensely miss his home. Hawkclan would not ever be the same after the move. No, scratch that - it hadn't been the same since Egretstar announced that they would be moving. Letting out a sigh, the aviator trainee lifted his head and stared off into space, mind going between 'if this' and 'if that'.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]The male snuck up on the rabbit. It was nibbling on a few pieces of grass that poked from the ground. He knew he was done for when a twig snapped beneath his foot. The animal dashed off and Blackjack followed hotly in pursuit. He quickly tackled the prey and rolled on the ground with it. He had the rabbit cradled in his arms before giving it a lethal bite to the neck, killing it almost immediately. Although Blackjack never found any joy in killing innocent creatures, he knew it was necessary for Hawkclan's survival.

"Blegh," he said as he spat out the fur. "Fuckin' rabbit..."
