Flameleap was half wanting the rouge to show up again but his scent was stale. A fresh aroma of vole stung her nose. Then she relized the scent was coming from across a Thunderpath. "Mousedung!" she spat. But she knew her mate and herself needed the prey so much. she took one careful pawstep then another. she was halfway across the Thunderpath when a monster roared toward her. "NO!!!!' she yowled. She half expected Ravenstar to hear her.

Flameleap felt a pain so harsh it made her heart skip a beat. The monster stoped, twirled and stung her side. She used her last streghthto rush across the Thunderpath and everything went black. she knew she would have to spend the night

Flameleap opened her eyes to her mangled tail and wounded side. Her gaze was blurring and then she saw Ravenstar come it felt like all the pain melted away. "Ravenstar!", she yowled weakly. now she remembered her injuries and pain kicked her in the gut. She vomited

Flameleap weakly rose to her paws. "Im coming to. He's my kit and if those rouges got him i will be more than happy to skin them of their pelts!" she mewed determinedly

Flameleap rushed beside him. Her pelt brushed hers and she ran faster with him until the clearing came into sight

"Oh thank StarClan!", yowled Flameleap. Her kit looked scared. It must have been because both his parents were gone. He knew what losing someone was like because he had lost his 4 other litter mates Stormkit,Cloudkit,Blackkit, whenever his parents were still rouges.

Flameleap turned her green gaze upon his wounds and gave them a gentle lick. "I think I should go hunting". She said turning her gaze to her kit that was mewling for food

"Thank you Ravenstar i will be back as soon as i have enough prey for us all". she headed out of the camp and scented the sharp scent of squirrel. she bunched her muscles killed it and carried it back to the camp.

"Thank StarClan",she meowed as her stomach was so full it felt warm. she headed into the nursery and soothed Sagekits hunger. as he drank he slowly drifted into sleep. Minutes later she did too.

Flameleap eyes opened with snap. "Ravenstar!" she darted out of the nursery much to Sagekits complaint and headed to Ravenstars den. he had gaping wound and next to him was her suspect. An adder

Flameleap killed the adder witch was already weak from Ravenstars struggle. She stared at him. "This isnt a place for cats but Sagekit is much to weak to travel." she said almost reading Ravenstars mind.

Flameleap knew he wasnt dead. a steady rise and fall of his chest reminded her he was very much alive. knowing the least she could do she shifted his body so that the wound did not touch the ground. she licked it fiercly and headed back to the nursery to her shaken kit.

Flameleap awoke with a start. Her whole family was weak. it felt as if Starclan was going against her. she knew adders were posionous but she had no clue how to get it out his system. then athought hit her. Yarrow! yarrow would make him vomit and possibly get some poison out. she collected a clump of the herb and headed to his den.

"Dont worry its only yarrow". "It will get some posion out of you system". she did not add the part about vomiting. she stroked his throught witch made him open his mouth and she shoved it in.

Flameleap tried to hide the disgust of his warm bubbling frothy foulsmelling puke. "Yes i know it is supposed to do that. It gets poison out of your stomach but theres nothing i can do for the rest."

Flameleap purred in amusement "I guess im the closest your going to get to medicine cat until she comes."

"Are you sure? but if you really can i need to feed Sagekit." She gestured to the nursery where her kit started to mewl." He's expecting me cann you go?"

Flameleap looked at Ravenstar who looked tired. he dropped his catch in the fresh kill pile. She rushed over to him. "Whats wrong?",she asked.

" Well if you ever feel like telling me the truth ill be in my den",she rushed into the nursery with freshkill in her jaws. she lay down and soothed his hunger.

"Yes Ravenstar?" she noticed he was acting as if a ticking time bomb was in his stomach.
