[size=9pt]I laughed at that and walked over to the bowl of punch pouring a cup for her and refilling my cup. "Here you go," I said turning to her. I looked at her as I handed her the cup, taking in every detail. "You look familiar.... never mind..." I said turning back to look at every dancing on the floor but all the disco lights were starting to hurt my eyes. "I'm gonna head outside, these lights are buging my eyes," I started, "you could come to... if you want."[/size]

[size=9pt]I blushed as she took my hand and pulled me outside. Her hand was so soft and her chuckle sounded tiny bells. I had never met a girl like this before in my entire life. "It's strange..." I started awkwardly "you're so different. I'm sure that I've never seen you before, and i would deffinately remember it if I ever met someone like you. Do you really go to school here?" I asked curiously.[/size]

"YEAH APPLES!!!" *gives Death Note*

[size=9pt]I laughed slightly when she said that. "Well forgeting about who's who..." The pop music from inside was quickly drowned out by the sound of violins coming from behind us, I turned to see a small band of people with vionins, flutes and a cello. I smiled at them as a small 'thanks' and they gave a few grins. I held out my had to Viper. "My I have a dance with the beautiful lady?"[/size]

[size=9pt]My heart skipped a beat. She was even more beautiful when she blushed. Chuckling softly I replied with a smile, "I'll teach you." I held her hand... so soft and smooth... and put my other hand on her waist. "Now put your other hand on my shoulder and copy me." I stepped forward slowly, then to the side, then back, making sure she was ok.[/size]

[size=9pt]I blushed slightly as she stumbled forward. "Are you ok?" I asked with concern as I watched her carefully. "I'm sorry, I must have been going to fast... or maybe I should have instructed you better... I'm not a very good teacher. I'm really sorry!" I yelped nervously as she looked away.[/size]

[size=9pt]I smiled shyly as a looked into her eyes. So beautiful and comforting... and familiar. I just couldn't place it. How could I have forgotten someone so... amazing. "You remind me of someone." I said chuckling. "The funny thing is, I don't know who it is." I turned back to look into her eyes, so full of fun, happiness, kindness, but most of all, hurt. Who could possibly hurt someone like her? I would find out who it was. And when I did, I would make them pay.[/size]

I was extremely confused when she suddenly stopped talking. What happened? "Umm... are you alright?" I asked slowly. She looked like she had seen a ghost. She looked scared. She almost looked as if she was scared of... me. "Viper?"[/size]

[size=9pt]'What does she mean? I won't be very happy?' I thought as I took a few steps toward her. "Viper, please just tell me. Who are you?" I reached my hand out slowly until it was about 5cm away from her face.[/size]

[size=9pt]I pulled my hand back as she took off her mask and let her hair down. My eyes felt like they would pop out of my head if they grew any larger. I tried calming my breathing as I took a few small steps back and whispered, "Aspen?" I just couldn't believe my eyes, this beautiful girl standing right in front of me was Aspen, the same Aspen I had called ugly, the same Aspen I had blackmailed, the same Aspen I had been so horrible to and the same Aspen that I had called beautiful. I had sworn to protect her from the monster that had been hurting her but all along, that monster was me. "I... I have to go." And I ran.[/size]

here's an extra-long post to make up for it

[size=9pt]I ran all the way home and my legs were about to fall out from underneath me. "How?" I questioned myself in a hoarse whisper. "HOW?! HOW COULD I?!" I screamed in frustration. All the sadness and confusion I had felt a few seconds ago were quickly replaced with rage. "WHY HER?! WHY ASPEN?!" I continued screaming and started smashing anything I got my hands on. Pictures, cabinets, small statues, snow-globes that my father collected. None of it mattered.
I eventually calmed myself and leaned on the wall, looking at the mess I had created. There was broken glass and water everywhere and my hands were covered in cuts and splinters. I slowly slid down the wall and picked up one of the broken picture frames with a young girl, about seven years old, inside. It was one of the few photos I had of my younger sister, she had died in a car accident when she was just nine. She meant the world to me. I cried myself to sleep that night thinking of the two most amazing people I had ever met. And how I could never live a happy life with either of them.[/size]
