As soon as he was out of camp, his eyes darted around in search for moss. He sniffed the air, and padded along slowly. His head swung from side to side as he searched. The earthy smell hit his nose as he spotted some at the base of a tree.

Nightjay was just about to claw up some of the moss he found when Flowerheart called. His head shot up and he quickly padded to her side. "What is it?" Then his gaze fell on the puppies. His fur fluffed, half out of shock and half out of fear. Could the mother be around? he thought

Dakota's eyes shot open intently at Lexi's words. She sat up and stretched.Yawning, she dusted the leaves off her clothes, and stood up. "Where exactly are we going?" She asked Lexi.
-
Nightjay relaxed a little. He bent down and sniffed one and it squeaked. He stood up straight again and he looked at Flowerheart. "What do you think we should do?"
-
Nightjay just watched her and the pups. "What about Ivystar and the others? I doubt they'll be up for it." He pointed out.
-
Dakota smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. They remained emotionless."I don't have anywhere particular in mind, but excitement sounds good!" she said with a fleeting glance at Mid. and Flame.
-
He looked into her eyes for a moment and then he blinked. "I know we can't. I just don't know how well the other cats will take it..." His voice trailed off. Or maybe you shouldn't tell them a voice in his head said. He looked down at the pups. He didn't know what to do.
-
Dakota smirked in her head at Flame's comment, and it shone in her eyes, but not her face.
-
Nightjay closed his eyes for a moment. Then he opened them and looked at Flowerheart. "Alright. We tell no one, but we raise them until they're weaned." He said.
-
Foxstep dashed out of camp, and turned his ear behind him to make shore his new apprentice was fallowing. Then, when they were a little ways from camp, he stopped.
-
"I vote Florida, there are alligators and pumas there." Dakota said in a plain voice, but her eyes showed her inward excitement.
-
Nightjay couldn't stop himself from purring at the site of the suckling pups. "We should take them to a more sheltered area; a little further away from the camp." He suggested.
OOC: Ok :)

"That sounds good. I'll go and scout it out. Maybe even get a nest going and then I'll come back and help you carry them there." he suggested.
-
This time, Dakota actually did smile. "Uh, hu." she said playfully to Flame as she stretched her wings. They were still slightly stiff from her first flight, but it was nothing son stretching couldn't fix.
-
As soon as she agreed, Nightjay dashed off into the forest. He ran at a steady pace all the way to the place that Flowerheart explained. The hallow was a good place for a den, but the floor was hard, packed dirt. So, he padded off to a nearby tree, and clawed off some moss. It wasn't long until he had a good sized nest in the hallow tree. As soon as he finished, he came running back.
-
Dakota smiled. "Hey, just because you're part sea hawk doesn't mean your a good surfer. Though, I'm probably worse." she confessed.
-
"It's safe, and it's warm now." He panted. He came up beside her and picked up Dean. The little pup squeaked as he was lifted from the milk and warmth and into the air.
-
Nightjay fallowed Flowerheart swiftly, but not to fast so that it would hurt Dean. When they finally came upon the den, the little pup had grown restless.
-
Dakota rolled her eyes and smiled.
OOC: This is funny because I really do surf a little! ;)
