As Mason was walking, he caught sight of a wolf in the woods.
"Hey Dex, are you lost?" he said.
Avril looked down and smiled at Caleb.
"Don't worry, i'd put it out," she said, leaning back in the tree so that her back was against the trunk. "Besides, im not in the mood for fried Caleb."
-
Mason shrugged.
"It doesn't, really. I'm heading back anyway," he said.
Avril smirked and stared at the trees across from her.
"So. What did you trick her into doing?" she asked, hoping she didn't seem like a creep for eavesdropping.
-
Mason chuckled.
"Did you and Soul get into another argument?" he asked. "Well i guess its none of my business. Homes that way," he said, pointing towards the way he had been walking. He gave Dex a small smile and started walking back towards home.
"I can respect that," Avril said. She plucked a leaf off a branch and watched as it burned and withered. A bird landed a few feet away on the branch. It didn't seem to notice Avril, somehow. With her bright red hair she was quite noticeable. She slowly lowered her hand to the branch. A thin flame snaked across the branch, taking a lot of willpower to keep the fire from engulfing the tree. The flame leaped onto the bird, killing it with a loud screech. Avril picked it up, the heat not effecting her bare hands.
"Ah, dinner," she said with a smile.

Mason stepped into the clearing where the camp was. Hand in his pockets, he walked over the hut where Isaac lived.
"You should talk to Dex," he said, standing outside.
Avril jumped down from the tree, bird in hand. She walked back to her hut, slipping inside to eat. She didn't like people watching her eat. She considered herself a messy eater, and she always thought that someone would tease her about it. She wasn't actually messy., but she didn't know that.
Her stomach growled loudly and she ate the bird quickly.
-
"He was nearby the border when I last saw him," Mason said. "I told him the way back, but he looked pretty upset and said he wasn't coming back." Mason frowned as a thought entered his head.
"You don't think.." he said, his voice trailing.

ooc: Is it okay if Avril has a crush on Isaac? :3

Avril walked out of the hut, some bones in her hand. She tossed them onto a small pile of sticks in the center of the camp. She opened her palm and the sticks burst into flames. She let them burn in case anyone wanted to use the fire for cooking later. She trotted through the woods, not totally sure where she was going. Without realizing, she found herself in an unfamiliar part of the forest.
"Crap, am i at the good siders?" she muttered to herself. She heard leaves crunch nearby, and started to panic. She turned and climbed up a tree, hoping she was hidden.
-
Avril watched as a red haired boy walk into her field of vision. He walked right underneath the tree she was hiding in.
"Dex? Is that you?" he called out. Avril Looked down at him, and lost her balance. With a scream, she fell right onto the strange boy.
-
"Oh my God, I-Im s-so sorry," Avril stuttered, getting off of him as quickly as possible. She scooted back against the tree, blushing furiously.

Leo awoke to the smell of smoke an rot. He felt a agonizing pain in his side before his eyes even opened. He clutched his side, his hand finding a shard of metal wedged into his ribs. With a groan of pain, he lifted himself from the metal. He rolled over and curled into a ball, clutching his side.
"Mike?" He rasped, his throat dry as sand. "Mike!" He listed himself into a sitting position, looking for his friend. His eyes caught one of the many bodies scattered around him. He would think about this later, but for now he had to make sure Mike was okay. He scooted over to his friend and started shaking him.
"Mike, wake up. C'mon, get up!" he said. His friend didn't budge. That's when Leo noticed the spreading pool of blood around the other boy. His own wound was bleeding, yes, but it wasnt nearly enough to fill the red puddle. He clutched his mouth when he realized that Mike was dead.
"No," he gasped.

"My names Avril," she said. She wasnt sure why she was telling him this. The last thing she needed was to get into trouble with the leader or even start a war on the island.
"And no, i havent." She noticed that this guy was quite handsome, and the thought made her blush a little more.
-
Leo looked in the direction of the voice, noticing it came from a girl. The girl was in tears, an understandable thing under circumstances. Leo would be in tears, but he was in shock. What the hell happened? The last thing he remembered was being on a plane... a plane. He looked around, finally noticing the debris. A plane crash. Mike had been terrified of flying. Tears finally sprung to his eyes, but he held them back. There would be time for crying, but right now was not that time. He looked at his hand and saw that it was stained with crimson liquid. He need to find something to wrap around his wound. He looked over at the body next to him.
"I'm sorry about this Mike," he muttered. He pulled off the jacket off of the corpse and tied it around his torso.
-
Avril let a sigh of relief. She stood up and brushed off the dirt and grass that clung to her body.
"Well, I can help you find your friend if hes lost. I know my way around the bad side," she said.
-
"I don't mind, really," she said a little to quickly. She hoped he didn't notice. "Theres a chance he'll be along the border, so we can just walk along it and hope we come across him."
-
Avril blinked. She had forgotten that he was a good sider and she was a bad sider. She took on her ususal cool expression and flicked her hair.
"I wouldnt want my leader to find out that i let good siders wander around our side," she said. she turned around and started walking. she looked over her shoulder and said, "Are you coming or what?"
-
"I don't have to worry about you hurting me," she said, smirking. She held up a hand and a large flame appeared above her hand.
-
Avril frowned at his quiet voice, she turned her head back to the front and continued walking. Did she say something wrong? She heard the crunching of leaves nearby and stopped, scanning the forest around them.
-
"It could be Dex," she said, turning to him. "But it might be a good idea to hide, just in case."
-
"But what about the other set? It could be Aleski, last time i saw her she was heading towards the coast," Avril said.
-
"Aleski?" Avril replied. "Yeah, its me! Is there by any chance someone with you?" she called, already knowing the answer.
-
"I asked you first," Avril replied, somewhat childishly.
