Featherwing awoke in StarClan. He had been killed by a fox, and he joined StarClan. But StarClan's hunting grounds weren't what he imagined they would look like. It was damaged and the sky was dark. Featherwing blinked in confusion and searched for any familiar cats.

Featherwing leapt into battle. He saw Dark Forest cats invading! He knew he had to do something, so he dashed towards the evil cats. He grappled with the cats, and they became a mass of whirling teeth and claws. Featherwing fought with the ferocity of a badger. "This is my new home! he growled. "And I won't let you destroy it just yet!"

Featherwing nodded. "I will defend StarClan with my life." Suddenly, he hissed in pain as the enemy warriors covered him. "No...." Featherwing felt his vision go dark as he lost consciousness.

He dreamed about a fire raging through the forest.

Featherwing opened his eyes to total darkness. "Wh-Where am I?" He glanced around and saw nothing but dark trees and sticky swamp water. "Ohh...Yeccchhhh....EWWWWW!!!!......." he yowled as he stomped on something wet and drippy. He heard yowls from another cat deeper in the forest. He hissed and followed the sound. He saw Sweetflower with a small....apprentice? He padded closer, and saw that they were fighting and arguing at the same time.
