Maki skipped another rock on the river and sighed. Why did she haft to have a father that was never home and a mother who always went out and got herself drunk. Maki picked up another rock and skipped it. Plus everyone at school always made fun of her. Heck her best friend had even just gotten a boyfriend and never spent anymore time with her. As Maki walked to her house she thought of something and vered off to a hidden pathway covered by overgrown foilage. She came up to a small cave and whistled. Out came a little black ball of fur yapping happily. Maki laughed and sat down so the little wolf pup could get on her lap and lick on her face.
