Max didn't bother to read the packet, shoving the thick bundle of paperwork to the left corner of his desk. Lost mid-thought, the teacher's voice broke his clouded facade. Startled hazel orbs fell back upon Sawyer. He had to hand it to the kid, he hadn't been expecting a greeting and he could tell that it was hard on him to even give the introduction. "Good to meet you, Sawyer. I'm Max. Max Hoffman."

His tone was laced with understanding, but he seemed calm and collected enough on the outside. Max wasn't the shy type, but he wasn't going to make the effort first. He casted a glance back at the packet on his desk, but angled his body towards Sawyer. "Did you read this?" He inquired, running a hand through his ebony black hair as he indicated the assignment.

"We can work on this whenever you're free." Max added swiftly. He could already see that Sawyer was different than everyone else. Not necessarily a bad different either, something that he could get use to. Maybe this project wouldn't be so bad after all. Max picked up his pen, circling the due date on the front page in blue ink. "Looks like we've got alittle over two weeks to do this." He murmured, more to himself than anything.

Max smirked up at Sawyer, before giving the slightest shake of his head. How had he not paid this kid any bit of attention? They had spent all year in the same English class, and this was first time the two had even shared words. The thought amused Max, but he brushed it aside without a so much as a second opinion. Why dwell on it?

    ooc: Me too <3
    Haha, okay! Thanks! :3

Lzzy felt as though she was on the top of the world. The adrenaline spiking through her system had never made her feel so alive. Light brown orbs watched Andy with awe, and it was obvious that this was where he was meant to be; before the crowd. Their voices swirled together during the chorus once more as she made her way towards the front of the stage. She met the frontman's gaze with ease, unwavering as her voice erupted for the song's bridge.

'Here's to all that we kissed,
And to all that we missed.
    To the biggest mistakes
    That we just wouldn’t trade.
To us breaking up without us breaking down,
    To whatever's come our way!'

Hitting the high note perfectly, she held it for several seconds, stopping for the shortest pause to suck in a breath of fresh air. As the chorus rose from the ashes again, she got chills at the sound of his voice. It was the perfect song and the perfect bond that formed because of it. The song itself almost seemed too short as it drifted to the very last few words, the final chords ringing out and slowly fading into the screaming crowd.

    'Here's to us.'

Lzzy lowered her mic, blowing a kiss to the crowd. "THANK YOU! YOU'VE ALL BEEN WONDERFUL! LET'S HEAR IT FOR BLACK VEIL BRIDES!" She announced, her breathing slightly labored from that last number. The rest of Halestorm rose at their cue, waving to the crowd as they were ushered from the stage. Lzzy turned heels, lightly laying her hand over Andy's upper arm. She bid him a final smile, wordless saying Good Luck before she following suit after her fellow band-mates.

    ooc: Okie dokie ^^
I got so annoyed, I tried to reply to this earlier and the site crashed on me! Dx

"Now let's see," Max replied with grin, picking up the notebook from his desk. Pretending to page through it's content, the pages were revealed as empty. "It's obvious I have so much to do, but I think I can make time after school today just for you." The ebony haired teen laughed at his own joke, winking in a toying gesture at Sawyer. He shut the notebook, slidding it into his backpack with a quick flick of his wrist.

"We can get started now, actually. Be right back." Max added as he got up and headed towards the front of the room. He stopped in front of the teacher's quarters, speaking something inaudible. There was a bit of an exchange, before she finally picked up a pen and piece of scrap paper from inside the bottom left drawer. Nodding in acknowledgement at what was sure to be a warning to behave, he uttered his thanks before returning to Sawyer. "Pack your stuff, we're going to the library." Max flashed the make-shift pass excusing them from English class to Sawyer.

Reaching down, he picked up his bag, haphazardly shoving his other belonging inside. He slung the pack over his one shoulder, gripping the strap with his free hand. "You like myths, huh?" The hazel eyed boy inquired, curiosity clinging the edge of his tone. "Never read any before, so you're in charge. Give me something to do and I'll get it accomplished." Max chuckled, striding towards the door at the other end of the room. He glanced over his shoulder at Sawyer, a grin fixed upon his olive-tan face.

    Tommy || Lee || Stone

When you're new at school, you cling to whoever is nice enough to show you an ounce of compassion. So that's what Tommy did. He had been invited to this massive party, and he would be foolish to let it slip through his fingers. Had it not been for need to fit in, perhaps he never would have wound up in this mess in the first place. The night had started off well, that was until he had begun to drink. Tommy was unsure at first, but once he got past that first sip, the rest was history. As it's told, the night flew by in a blur. Dancing, drinking, socializing, and more drinking. He had lost all control and it came as no surprise when he simply lost track of it all and caved into the darkness.

Baby blue eyes flickered open, the haze of his alcohol clouded brain still clinging to the depths of his mind and body. Tommy rolled over with a groan, squinting his eyes shut. It was then things started to register in his mind. The cold and damp ground solid underneath him, the pulsing headache that plagued his senses. The party must have ended hours ago, for there was no trace of anyone. Just a few bottles littered the ground, the only idication that this whole thing had even happened at all.

ooc: Thank you so much for creating the thread <3
    I'll get this finalized asap!

Cold, he was just so cold. It felt as though the frost had absorbed into his skin and now rushed through his blood with every beat of his heart. The boy sat up, holding his temple in his dominant left hand. The light hurt his eyes, several harsh moments flashing by before his pupils could adjust to the dim lighting. His mouse brown hair was haphazard, sticking up at every angle known to man. Tommy was a mess, and his body ached with every slight movement. After much debate, he finally gathered the strength to drag himself to his feet.

Unstable, he used the nearest oak to keep him steady, the freezing air stinging his already numb hands. The feeling was dissipating, replaced by typical 'pins and needles' sensation. Something seemed wrong, but Tommy shoved the idea into the depths of his mind and tried to recollect how to get back to his car. Tugging his leather jacket to the curve of his body, he set off at a slow pace. Tommy didn't exactly know where he was going. Blue orbs scanned the forest, nervousness churning in his gut like waves at high tide.

Tommy suddenly dropped to his knees, dry heaving. The taste of bile rose his throat, but his stomach was simply empty and had nothing left to offer. A shiver ran down his spine suddenly, and the feeling that he was being watched brought an uncontrollable fear to the surface. His head snapped upward, and his breath stopped. Something or someone was there. He could sense it in his bones, and the hair on the back of his neck stood up in horror.

Funny how what you couldn't see, startles you more than what you can face.

    ooc: You too, hun <3
Sorry, about the crappy first post as well.

"Sure thing, boss." Max smirked, dumping his backpack off at small wooden table meant for working. Keeping the advice in mind, he wondered towards the back of the library, weaving in and out of the rows. It seemed no one had ventured back here recently; dust lined several of the shelves and the books were actually neatly place and well taken care of. That was, for being as old as some of the literature was. Worn leather, Gold writing. He reminded himself and set to work.

Max found several books within the first fifteen minutes, but nothing had seemed to catch his attention yet. He picked up a brown leather book in his hands, scanning through the pages. It displayed several short Latin myths accompanied by poorly drawn sketches that made even Max's artwork look it belonged in a gallery. Heaving a melodramatic sigh, he slammed the book shut, coughing as dust flew off the edge of it's worn pages. He cussed under his breath, shoving the collection back in his place and swifting turning on his heels.

That's when the book caught his attention. Max couldn't explain the sudden urge that crashed over him. He felt compelled to investigate it, and before he realized it, his feet were carrying him towards the very last shelf. Gold symbols covered the spin of the book, sticking out of the dark green cover like a sore thumb. Max shot Sawyer a glance, but he seemed busy enough in his own search that he didn't have the heart to interrupt him. Picking up the book, the sparkle of the gold pages caught his attention. As though the gold cover wasn't enough. He brushed the leather exterior, clearing it of any debris before opening the novel.

Max was stunned; This book was special. It wasn't even published in English. He flipped through the page, curiosity blazing his demeanor. No matter how hard he looked, the book was even missing publication information and a date. Max shook his head in exasperation, giving up and deciding to set it aside to show to Sawyer. That kid was smart, surely he could be able to translate it. What was the harm?

occ: Ohh, yeah! That sounds like a great idea c:

Tommy's breath was visible in the frost bitten air, forming like a cloud of smoke before vanishing back into the atmosphere. The urge to flee was unbearable, but his feet wouldn't cooperate. It was as though they had been caught in cement, keeping him rooting to the very ground he stood. His cobalt colored orbs snapped shut, before he gathered enough courage to cast a begrudging glance over his shoulder. What the teen saw next, sent a rush through his body, making him dizzy and lightheaded all at once.

The creature - no - the wolf, was breathtaking. Tommy had never seen such a thing up close, and here, bathed in the darkness and dim moonlight, he wondered if it was even real at all. Maybe he was still asleep, and all this was a dream. Surely he would wake up soon and the whole encounter would feel so surreal. This canine was dangerous, that was evident in the entire demeanor of the animal. Regardless, the fear seemed to shatter from his core, releasing him from his paralyzed state. Instead it was replaced by an idiotic curiosity. If she hadn't tried to snatch his life away by now, perhaps the possible existed that he could just walk away from it all.

Tommy turned to fully face the ebony shaded lycan, but made no other attempt to move. He'd heard that running is a ridiculous idea, for it sparks the hunter alive inside all predators. What else could he do? The boy bite down on his lip in concentration, watching her like a hawk and trying to calculate her every motion. The fear may have been abolished, but he still didn't trust this wild animal. He would be foolish to let his guard down, but he felt trapped in the most unpredictable way. Like the walls were slowly moving in, ready to crush him to a bloody pulp.

    occ: Thanks again c:

Max returned to his unwavering search, perhaps being a bit too picky for their own good. He ran his fingers along the spine of several other books, but his concentration had been shattered. All he could think about was that strange book. None of these other pieces of literature even seemed worth his time to browse. Shaking his head vigorously, he picked up the nearest collection of myths and flipped through its content with an absent gaze. Max suddenly felt as though he was wasting his time, as well as Sawyer's. That green leather book, was probably the best thing he was going to discover.

Turning to call out to Sawyer, he stopped himself just in time to witness the awe plastered across the boy's face. So he wasn't the only one who had fallen entranced by its mystery. A smirk etched its way across his pale lips as he nodded in acknowledgement to his partner's question. "Yeah, does it mean something to you? I have no idea what it says, but I thought, ya know, you might." Max raised an eyebrow in questioning as he paced over to where Sawyer was marveling over the book. Hazel eyes peered over his shoulder, as Max tried to get another look as well.

He pointed towards the shelf where the book had come from as an indication. "It's the only thing like it I've come across. The only thing I've actually really found, if I'm being honest." Max confessed, drawing a hand through his thick ebony hair. Toying with his lip ring in distraction, he shrugged his shoulders, playing modest that it was no big deal. He smiled genuinely at Sawyer, amusement lacing through his words. "You're kinda smart right? Think you can translate it?" His tone shifted to raw curiosity. The excitement to know, to understand, ran wild through his demeanor.

Surely it had to be important, the library had housed it all these years. Who know, it might even make for one hell of a research paper. But above all that, Max secretly liked the way that Sawyer responded to its appearance. It comforted Max, for he wanted his partner to see that he was trying to help and make an impact. He wasn't like the others and when this was all said and done, perhaps something more than an acquaintanceship would be born as a result. Max slid a hand into the pocket of his faded gray jeans, watching Sawyer expectantly.

Certainly! What plot did you have in mind?

    @ harold ☆
I would love to do a band RP with you <3
    Any ideas for a plot?

    @ QUiRHEi
    Sure, sounds like fun!
What's the starter plot you had in mind?

Tommy's breath caught in his throat. It wasn't that he was trying to portray dominance, but in fact, it was probably the complete opposite of that ideal. Now was possibly the worst and most inconvenient time to be left in drunk hazen. Subconsciously, he shook his head. Things were moving in slow motion, or perhaps that was simply the adrenaline coursing through his veins. Regardless, the boy held his ground, never faultering in step. As the wolf moved closer, he simply observed, silently hoping that this wouldn't end in a fatal distaster.
"Good doggie. That's close enough, I don't mean any harm.." His tone trailed away, realizing full well how ridiculous he must have sounded; Surely, that wouldn't benefit him. Tommy balled his fist in the pocket of his jacket. Someone here was going to have to back down, and a shiver ran ragged down his spine. He could already invision it, the news casts and the papers all indicating a murderous animal. Tommy felt nothing but sympathy for the wolf, and it radiated off him in waves. This was how they survived.

Max laughed as Sawyer spoke the words. It sounded like something that started the beginning of a fairytale, a disney movie even. Something that just wasn't plausible. Sure it was a joke, until the explosion of books and paper wiped that smirk right off of his face. He staggered backwards, instinctly raising his arm to protect his face. The gust was so strong, it left the boy breathless, nearly winded by its power. "What the hell?" Max whispered, using the table for support as he straighten his stance, gaze locked on the mysterious door.

"You drugged me didn't you?" The ebony haired teen inquired aloud, trying to lighten the mood. The tension was thick in the atmosphere, causing the hair on the back of his neck to stand on end. No amount of joking was going to change that, but one could try. Max turned an uncertain gaze towards Sawyer, before he took a step towards the door. This couldn't be happening, this wasn't real. Or could it be? Hesitating before it happened, Max extended his hand and rested it on smooth wooden door. He ran his fingers over the metallic lettering, tracing them as he went.

He didn't know what he had expected. Part of him had wished the door would simply vanish, that his hand would pass right through it as though it were a ghost. Maybe he was being pranked and this was all part of some twisted scheme. Nevertheless, part of Max also knew better. This was really happening and it all rooted from that green leather bound book. Dropping his hand from the wood work, he shifted his body to fully face Sawyer. "Is this why you enjoy myths so much, boss?" He raised an eyebrow, shaking his head lightly in apprehension as he glanced down.

"I think we should open it, Sawyer." Max suddenly looked up, his gaze matching his partner's beat for beat. Nervousness churned in his stomach like the waves of the ocean, but he simply could not shake away the feeling. Something was beyond that door. Something life changing, but he just didn't understand the extent of how drastic. "What do you say?" Max pressed. "Stuff like this, it doesn't just happen. We can't let this pass us by, you know that."

    @ QUiRHEi
Warlocks? I believe that's what you're talking about.
But I do like the basic idea ^^
Would you rather a male or female character?

    @ ѕparĸ.
I really love the second option!
I don't mind playing the guy either.
Would you like to create the thread or should I?

    Blake || Anthony || Hollandale

The afternoon bell buzzed overhead, dismissing school for the day. Two-thirty sharp. Blake deposited his belongings haphazardly into his packback, zipping the bag as he made a beeline for the door. He threw it over his right shoulder, nodding farewell to a friend as they parted ways in the hallway. Bypassing his locker, he had other things on his mind at the moment. Currently, he was headed to meet his girlfriend outside of the school. They walked home together every evening, and this particular day was no different.

Blake made his way through the crowded hallways, narrowing his emerald green orbs at the sudden burst of bright light as he left the sanctuary of the building. Taking a seat on a nearby bench, he waited patiently for the arrival of his girl. The weather outside was wonderful, just perfect actually. The leaves were falling from the trees one by one, fall hanging in the balance as the days had come and gone. The sky was a clear blue, blotted with the occasional white and wispy cloud.

Running a hand through his light brown hair, he feigned a sudden intrest in a tear of his faded blue jeans. He wasn't very sure of things, now-a-days. Now that his mother had fallen ill, that was. She seemed to be doing better for the moment, but things could always change on a dime. Shaking away the thought, Blake heaved a melodramatic sigh. Silently, he watched as students filed onto their buses or piled into their cars with their friends. Where was she? Blake wondered, gazing back towards the clear double doors of the school with an eyebrow raised in wonderment.

ooc: Sorry, for the crappy post. I wasn't really sure how to start it c:

Wordlessly, Max nodded his approval. He swallowed any uncertainty, pushing all doubts to the back of his mind. Surprised by Sawyer's reaction, his hazel orbs shifted to where their hands now hovered, intertwined in one another. With a slight smile creeping onto his demeanor, he gave his partner's hand an encouraging squeeze, watching him fondly as he spoke. "Oh, yeah. Sure, sure. That's your motive here." His tone was as smooth as velvet, playing on the humor that laced his words.

Max turned his attention back towards the agape entrance of the portal. The midnight backdrop seemed to swirl, mixing with flickers of various colors ranging anywhere from white to a deep scarlet red; almost giving the appearance of a raging storm. The adrenaline was spiking viciously through the teen's body, and he before he realized what he was doing, Max took a step too close. The portal sucked the boys inward, his grip tightening on Sawyer's hand as he descended. A deafening silence casted down over them after the door slammed shut and left their own world behind. Max was vaguely aware of the commotion, too engulfed in the dreadful engery that seemed to be drowning him.

The sensation of falling was horrific to Max. He had never liked heights for this very specific reason, but with every passing second, they seemed to be gaining speed. "Sawyer!" Max managed to choke out, unable to keep the air in his lungs. The whole thing had only lasted maybe thirty seconds, but it felt like an century. The flashing lights were disorienting, blinding even and just like that, as quick as it started, it was finished. They were emptied out onto the hard ground, the grass cool and damp from the early morning.

Max was dazed, only paritally aware that he was still clinging onto Sawyer's hand. He shut his eyes tightly, waiting as the ringing in his ears slowly faded into silence. "You alright?" He questioned breathlessly, releasing his grip so he could roll over and push himself up into a sitting position. Hazel orbs flew open, drinking in their surrounds with awe and astonishment. They were no longer in school, not even in the general location of their home state. No, this was something that was completely different all together.

"Where are we?" Max wondered aloud, brushing off the debris from his clothing as he rose unsteady to his feet. He gazed out towards the rising sun, where a city was lying in its wake. The buildings seemed to be made out of some shiny material, chrome, maybe but he couldn't be certain. What he did know, was that the same gold markings he had seen in the book, decorated several of the larger facilities. The symbols glistened off of the warming sunlight, almost mockingly in Max's perception. Turning back around, Max extended his hand to Sawyer to help him up as well. He offered a small, though genuine smile, but there was uncertainly hidden in the depth of his facade.

Max helped pull Sawyer to his feet with an acknowledging nod. It certainly was a decent idea; the book was the whole problem here anyway. It had sucked them into this world, to this undiscovered mystery that now lay just beyond their grasp. The idea was solid, but it put their future in the balance for sure. The portal was even gone, for it had disappeared into the atmosphere without a trace. How where they ever going to get home? Horror ran cold down the boy's spine; it was possible they were stuck here.

Peering over Sawyer's shoulder, Max's hazel orbs searched the pages absently. That was until, he had spotted the picture. He sucked in a harsh breath, slowly releasing the air through clenched teeth. Without a doubt, that image had not been engraved on that page the last time they'd opened it. Regardless, there was no denying that it was the very city they were standing before now. "Yeah, you're right. " Max muttered, all the while knowing he had merely pointed out an obvious and yet moot point. "That's the place."

Max felt lightheaded and excited all in one moment, not the greatest bundle, but at least the sense of doom had fled from his mind. He met Sawyer's glance, unwavering as he gazed into the window of the other boy's soul. The question now, was where to go from here. "The way I see it, we've got two options here, boss. We stay where we are, trying to decode this ludicrous book or we head for that town." He motioned towards it absently, before crossing his arms over his chest. "I think we can make it before nightfall if we leave now."Max really didn't favor either idea, both decisions had wrong written in black and white.

A blood-curlding screech suddenly erupted in his ears. Already on edge, the intensity of the noise caused Max to flinch. It took several moments before he spotted the culprit, circling above their heads in the clear blue sky. A massive bird, unfamiliar to Max, which had a snow white chest was studying the outsiders with a keen eye. It's feathers where sleek, reflecting off of the rays of the sun in various colors of greens and blues. Max tried to surpress his tension, laughing half heartedly at his slip up. "Damn bird." He spat, before feigning an interested back towards the city.

Step into the journey you have dreamed of behind shuttered eyes.

Oh, they had stepped into it alright, and perhaps even got more than they had bargained for. Max shifted slightly, drinking in their surroundings once more, but paying more attention detail on the second time around. It was pretty much a beeline from where they were to the city, but several miles would have to be crossed before they reached sanctuary. To the right, there was a makeshift path that had once been beaten down to just dirt that now was becoming overgrown in weeds and high grass. Max supposed it had been used fairly often back in the day, but now was simply fading into the past.

"What are we going to do?" Max voiced his thought, toying with his lipring as he spoke. He wasn't going to make Sawyer do something he didn't want to. They were partners now; they'd gotten in this together and they would get out together.

ooc: No worries, I understand! I am also sorry for the wait!
Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so I didn't get a chance to get online.
Oh, and quick question! Did our other thread die? x3

Max kept pace beside Sawyer, secretly grateful for the silence at the mean-time. It gave him to chance to recollect everything leading up to their current position. They had to be missing something, and he was positive that the answer was hidden in the depths of that book. He shut his eyes for a long moment, drawing in a deep breath. At the sound of Sawyer's voice, guarded hazel eyes snapped open as he gazed up towards the blinding sun. "I don't know. Maybe it thinks we're going to drop dead." Dry humor and apprehension were stamped all over his words.

They had only traveled about two miles or so at this point, but Max suddenly felt weary. The adrenaline rush was leaving his body, resulting in a crash like state. Every step was becoming an effort, and the sun was growing hotter as it reached its peak. Brushing his ebony colored bangs from his sight, an exasperated sigh slipped from the teen's lips. That bird was still tailgating. Behind the creature's black beady, he swore there was intelligence, knowledge. He forced the thought to vanish, it sounded ridiculous. Absolutely insane.

"Do you think we'll have any problems trying to blend in?" Max suddenly blurted out, raising an eyebrow in question. Perhaps he was over thinking this, but the silence was starting to bother the teen. They were alone out here, and even though hadn't known each other very long, the thought of a disconnection with Sawyer frightened Max.

They were nearly at the city by this point, it was within their grasp. Maybe half of a mile stood in their way, but after what they had just been through, this felt like nothing in comparison. He was certain that chrome decorated the buildings, and that the gold was in fact real and not some fancy paint job. A symbol of riches and power, he vaguely recalled, but had no understanding of why it needed to be displayed so vividly and so frequently. It was unnecessary to Max, who eyed the engravings with a searching stare. Part of him wished he could understand Latin, but a stronger part also clung to the innocence of being left in the dark.

    ooc: haha thanks! x3
Aww, okay. I thought so. Just making sure.
    Ohh, I like that idea! Sounds good to me c;

    Blake || Anthony || Hollandale

"Hey, you." A smile instantly etched across Blake's figures, genuinely lightening up his features. He tenderly brushed a stray strain of golden blonde hair behind her hair, drawing her closer to him in one swift motions. A chuckled slipped through his pale as he nodded in acknowlegement.

"It was fine, much better now though." He winked playfully in her direction, the seem playing off the soft gray of his eyes.

"How was yours?" Blake inquired, raising from the bench. He extended a hand to Rosemary, lacing his fingers through her own as he started off down the sidewalk. Moments like these, when they were alone, were his absolute favorite. These walks home were perfect for that by every stretch of the meaning. Absently, he brushed away his bangs from his sight, gazing expectantly and adoringly at her.

    ooc: Sorry for the wait!
    It'll get better c:
