arvid stumbled around the living room of the house, in search of one thing. blankets to sleep with. he would have explored the rest of the house, however he refrained from doing so. he was not in the mood to go stumbling around in an unknown house, with the likelihood of him getting paranoid. that was the last thing he needed tonight. his deep brown orbs soon fell upon something folded up on one of the couches near him. he quickly grabbed the soft fabric of the small blanket. he was so tempted to just wrap up in that and call it a night, but he knew it wouldn't be enough to keep him warm, so he continued on searching, despite his body's protests.
as he continued through the main floor of the house, he froze. he could've swore he just heard footsteps. was he imagining things? it was possible, since his mind was on autopilot, barely working from his extreme tiredness. he was in that state where your body tries to make you sleep, but you fight it anyway. in the corner of the room, he found a basket full of covers, way bigger than the small one he had already found. with a sigh of relief, he started to gather them up, turning back around to head to the couch, only to have a fist pounded into his jaw. the male let out a startled yelp, backing away from the unknown person as he held his cheek. "what the he–" arvid cut himself off upon opening his closed eyes and seeing a young women standing in front of him. he blinked a few times, still holding his cheek. his mind racing with so many questions. wasn't the house empty? obviously, it wasn't. even more so, there was a women living here, and it looked as though she was all alone.
"s-sorry... i kinda... got stuck in the snow and the closest place i saw was here..." his British voice trailed off as he removed his hand from his now slightly swollen, and red cheek. damn. she really did hit me hard. the brown haired male thought, his eyes looking everywhere but the women in front of him. "the door was unlocked, so i assumed no one lived here, and you didn't come to the door when i knocked either." arvid explained innocently, finally making eye contact with the blond female in front of him. what was a girl like her doing out here alone anyway? he didn't have any bad intensions, but if someone else stumbled upon this house, who wasn't him, this whole situation would be completely different.
It seemed like the more he talked, the more his cheek throbbed like the rest of his body. This would happen to him on a night like this. "i only need a place to stay until tomorrow... if it's not too much of a bother." he mumbled, looking away from her once again. This situation was so awkward, and no doubt that it freaked her out. She probably thought he was here to steal from her or worst.
