Apprentice - Difficult - Shadowclan

    OOC;

    Hello!

This is my Traditional Shadowclanner, Wolfpaw. He is about 8 months old, and is a 'two layer' kind of guy. With his own people Wolfpaw is known for being social, fair, protective, and a hard worker. With outsiders -like newcomers to the clan who have yet to prove their loyalty, or members of other clans altogether- it's not so easy to see the more redeemable qualities. He can come off as blunt, cynical, stand-offish and untrustworthy. He has no problem using aggression to settle issues that result from outsiders, and can be known for being stubborn and somewhat prejudice. In general Wolf is an intelligent, ambitious, cunning, and adaptable. He works hard and has high expectations from life, and has an aloof side to him that can leave more empathetic or sympathetic people caught off guard sometimes. He sticks to the warrior code loyalty, but is known to test or bend it at times if it's benefitial.

I believe @CICATRIXFACE was going to mentor him, but he's open to just about everything else save for death or serious maiming/injury.

It was another terrible day- weather wise, at least. The sun was lost behind an endless sky of thick gray clouds, and while the oncoming storm had yet to break the soft rumblings of thunder in the distance were audible every now and then. They had maybe an hour before the rain came, and that was only if the wind didn't pick up. Twitchstorm wasn't looking forward to it. Either he'd have to hide out in the warriors den all day to avoid it, or he'd end up soaked to the bone with too-long fur that was already a pain to groom. Even now one wouldn't have guessed the tom had just finished grooming himself about an hour earlier, as his fur had a way of always ruffling up and sticking out in odd clumps, like he had perpetual bedhead. Oh well. With a soft sigh that seemed to reflect his bored and bleak mood the blonde tabby would make his way over to the fresh kill pile, plucking a small vole from the top of the pile before sitting down to begin munching on his lunch.

OOC; This is his intro. He was born into Thunderclan so feel free to assume you know him if you like :)

No. Someone had taken him? The idea was almost impossible to fathom. What would the clans want with Snakestar? He had nothing to offer them save for leverage over Shadowclan itself, and if someone was intending to use the clan in someway they were going to find themselves faced with one hellbent force.

"I'll spread the word at camp before following your trail. Whoever did this will pay!"

growled the apprentice, claws flexing to knead the soft earth underfoot in anger before he turned to race back toward camp. The others had to know what was going on, they had to be ready for whatever might come.

His lungs were burning, his chest heaving, but he didn't slow down. He couldn't slow down. Every second he spent racing toward Shadowclans camp was another moment where Cicatrixface and Snakestar were getting farther away, and he had no time to lose. He was playing messenger, and his work wasn't done yet.

The large dapples tom came racing into camp like a streak of lightening, a terrible sound of panic and anger sounding from his lips as he finally slid to a halt in the center of camp and began to circle, calling out for his clanmates. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey.... come and listen... to what has happened!" he called, pausing in between gulping down breaths. "They've captured Snakestar!"

OOC; Hey guys, so this takes place RIGHT after discovering the blood and fur on the border belonging to Snakestar- Cicatrix has sent Wolfpaw back to alert the clan, so feel free to jump in!

He fought to catch his breath, taking a moment while the clan quickly gathered about him, all echoing the smae question. And how he wished he had a proper answer. that for sure. Cicatrix has gone ahead to see if the other clans know anything."

the apprentice would say, finally regaining himself enough to form proper sentences. His fur was still bristled along the spine though, tail waving and lashing violently behind him as his anger and shock continued to burn inside him.

Wolfpaw didn't like this. The large dappled tom made his way over to take a seat beside Irispaw, sharp yellow eyes trained on the tom who sat atop the highrock. Twoface. He had left the clan, and now he was returning out of nowhere the claim his leadership? He wished that Smokepaw would arrive. Maybe there was some sign Starclan could send them to confirm who should carry on as Leader in Snakestars place, but none of them, as warriors, would be able to interpret such a sign properly. His uncertainty seemed to manifest in the form of his claws biting the earth underfoot and the silent clenching on his jaw. This wasn't right. No clan was meant to have two Leaders. And yet, it seemed impossible to avoid. Everyone was slowing giving into the idea, and in the end two Leaders had to be better the no Leader, right?

He would have liked to say that Adderpaw just surprised him a little, that the sudden harsh voice that cut through the air only caused the smallest of flinches -but it didn't. That would have been putting it way to mildly. No, Twitchstorm flat out out jumped. He dropped his meal like a guilty thief caught red handed, his long, fluffy tail bristling out in surprise as his head jerked toward the direction of the speaker.

"I- I " he stuttutered, the words tripping over themselves as they fought to get out. He hated moments like this, where he was surprised or flustered. He sounded ridiculous, and more often then not others took him for scared or meek, which was usually not the case. Twitchstorm was actually quite the spirited, outspoken young tom. Apprenticed only a moon prior, he was loyal, hard working, and a fast learner despite his peculiarities.

To make matters worse, he found that the familiar voice of accusation belonged to Adderpaw. The apprentice was a month older then Twitchstorm, but had failed to gain his apprenticeship yet. The fact that he was being talked down to by the other was a spark of annoyance, and the lithe, muscular toms tail fluffed out in indignation.

"N-not that it's any of your b-business," he would growl softly, coffee brown eyes narrowed slightly as he reigned it in, "but yes I did. I know m-my job as a Warrior." the young tom would reply as he leaned back down to readjust his mouse.

Pinefang, seemingly overhearing the confrontation, was making her way over, and Twitch was thankful for her support. Even if he had taken the mouse without hunting, it only would have been because the prey pile was well stocked or because a patrol was on their way in. And Pinefang was right- he would have put it back.

"Thanks, Pinefang." he'd say with a small smile before turning to take a bite of his meal, gaze flicking back toward Adderpaw. The other was older, and probably a hell of a fighter, but the blonde tabby, depsite being generally good natured, was known to bite back, hard. Even if he would get his tail handed to him.

He took note of Whitepaw and Maplekit nearby, but more notibly his attention went to a tom who was approaching. They were unfamiliar to Twitch, and so he took some curiosity in that seeing as he'd always lived here and knew most of the cats around camp, but Thunderclan was a fairly large place with people coming in and out all the time, and to be honest it wasn't like he was super social with his clanmates. As a kit he'd been shy and hostile, a mothers boy, and it was only after her passing during his apprenticeship that he actually started getting involved with others, mainly because he couldn't stand being alone. Twitchstorm wasn't built for solitude.

"Nice to meet you, Drywind. My name's, uh, Twitchstorm. I was just made into a Warrior a little over a m-moon ago."

    he explained.

OOC; Thanks for the welcome everyone! Feel free to have seen him around camp or to arrange plots with me, as I'd like him to have been a Thunderclanner from birth :)

Hey! Could Adder and Twitch have this sort of frienemy/romance thing? I am a big fan of drawn out, fluffy/angsty relationships, so I was hoping you might be up for some sort of plotting between the two of them? I can see them being the kinds of 'friends' that butt heads a lot when they first meet just because they both have that stubborn/defiant streak, but after hanging out with each other a few times on patrols and in open/private threads that sort of heated nature between them could sort of lead to them getting really close. A physical attraction could start to spark between the pair, and we can have them in this semi-dysfunctional friendship where they argue/rouhouse/tease each other constantly as if they aren't getting to be close friends, despite the fact that they come to a point where they are really casual and touchy and possessive of each other?

I think we can do a lot of plotting with them if your up for it. Twitch can be mouthy and violent, but it's only because he's sensitive and high strung. He needs someone tough and stubborn like Adder to plot with :)

Theirs were not the only eyes to spy the crossing of the red tom. Wolfpaw, too, saw the entire ordeal. He wasn't the cruel sort despite his rougher nature, and so when the stranger had almost met his end, the dappled toms fur had rose to stand on end in anticipation. This was the place their Leader, Snakestar had gone missing, and it was very possible that one of the monsters was the cause of it. Wolfpaw had never seen someone be hit by one, but he had seen death before, had been a part of it, and he had no interest in watching someones eyes go blank again.

So, as the cat -who looked like he was apprenticed age- safely made it to the other side, there was a moment of relief that tempararily soothed the Shadowclanners nerves. What a stupid kid, to just run out there like that. He had a hard time believing it wasn't just some lost kittypet who'd wandered away from it's house, but who they were wasn't really important to him. What had the young toms attention now was the fact that this stranger had crossed into Shadowclan territory, racing into the safety of the pine trees.

The fact that he had witnissed the entire thing was the only thing keeping the energetic and protective apprentice from immediately running them down for a confrontation, though he still held his suspicions. The fact that the other was coming this way at all was a cause for concern. Probably another loner, but it was no secret that Wolfpaw was hesitant with most. People with no experience showing up on the edge of their home, only the smallest portion working out while the others just stopped in to freeload before leaving. It was enough to make even the most patient warrior flex their claws, and Wolfpaws patience had a tendency to run short when it came to other cats.

Swift pawsteps would take him in the others direction. He could smell the fear in their scent trail as he followed after it, and as he finally came to the pine the stranger had taken shalter beneath, he found he was not alone. Iris and Two were already there asking their questions. Wolfpaw had nothing to add. Not yet. As he came to a stop beside Irispaw he'd let his piercing, wolfish gaze would land on the stranger, lips set in an unreadable line.

He only saw one hit the water. It made his blood run cold and his heart skipped a beat, and a for a moment he was frozen, trying to piece the scene together. He had been hunting when he'd come around a cluster of trees along the path and almost run into them, quickly ducking under a nearby bush before he realized what it was he was witnessing. His mind was spiraling, trying to balance his instinctual fear of the human while struggling with the murder he had just seen. But there was no time. It was lifting another kit out of the box getting ready to toss them, too.

This seemed to snap Wolfpaw out of his shock. He would have years to go over the tragedy and horror he'd caught only a glimpse of, but for now anger and determination were flaring up in the young apprentice. He would save this one. He was a strong swimmer and he knew the river well. The second that heartless two legged let it go, he would streak forward and dive in to grab them. Starclan willing, he could at least help this one.

And Starclan was willing, but not in the way he'd expected. For whatever reason the two legged stopped and put the kit down, leaving the box all together. For many long moment Wolfpaw watched and waited to make sure they would not return, but eventually the kits crying lured him out, urged to reach her before a predator. Cautiously he'd approach the box, circling around it before leaping in and attempting to give the kit a few reasuring licks ont he top of her head. "It's okay, we're getting out of here."

he'd say softly as he aimed to grab her by her scruff so he could carry her back to camp.

    "I'll take one, Cica."

Wolfpaw would call as he made his way over. The large dappled apprentice was still frustrated over the loss of Snakestar and the current situation forced upon their clan, but there was little choice they all had in the matter. Nobody else was really capable of leading the clan anyways, so two leaders was better than none.

"A two legged was throwing them into the river." Wolfpaw would say, the words muffled as he kept his grip on teh shekit, letting the other queen lick her to warm her up. When the kit was relaxed and warm the apprentice would gesture for the pair to follow and qould hastily begin back toward camp, doing his best not to jostle the tiny bundle in his jaws. "Someone find Smokepaw and Embertail. She should see a healer."

he said, swerving around a log and continuing up the path toward the entrance to the camp.

    "Coming!"

Twitch would call as he heard Stonefaces call. He was itching to get out of camp anyways, and since he'd only been made a warrior two short moons ago he still had a lot to prove to his clanmates. Being born into the clan didn't automatically make you great, and the lean, muscular little tom refused to be overlooked, thus he had to pull his weight. With swift steps the long furred tabby would make his way over to join the small group, offering a small but silent nod of greeting to those already there.

I make these in my spare time and was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying any for their pup? I can do them in any color combo and they are pretty reasonably priced- the one my JR has on is only $8.

It works just like a Graphics shop for the most part- you place your order, send me the money once the order is complete, and then I send you your item/s through the mail so they're delivered right to your door! There's a small shipping fee depending on where it's being sent that will be included in your total (usually like $2). Larger orders will have free shipping!

I just need your dogs collar measurement :)

I can't do traditional art as in drawing/painting/digital work, but I do have a line of pet accessories that I handmake, and I'd totally be willing to put together little gift baskets to throw into raffles if you guys think that's something people might be interested in. I can do collar accessories, sports jerseys, head halters, harnesses, sweaters, halloween costumes, etc. I'd be willing to throw something together every month or so to help with funding :)

What do you guys think would be considered a fair price for the raffle tickets? I can start working on some items to raffle off asap for this months funding. And where would be the best places to advertise for it? I really want to help out lol
