    I love ALL OF THIS

Bard is the cat to go to when you want to rant about something so he knows aLL the gossip but spreads nONE of it except to Phe, Ro, and Jazz whenever they ask what he knows

And also yes give me that stoic Jazz/Bard relationship where they're both usually quiet and emotionless but then they hang out together and look like two kits having the time of their lives

Icefeather was dragging herself through the snow after Sorrelstar, the two of them taking a little walk to just clear their minds. Things had been a little hectic lately, so they had agreed to take a walk and just breathe for a little bit. But then Sorrelstar had forged on ahead after something, leaving the white tabby to try and catch up. When she finally did, slightly irritated at being left behind, Icefeather opened her maw to ask what Sorrelstar was doing, and promptly swallowed the words when she saw the little, bleeding bundle huddled in the snow. Rushing over as Sorrelstar curled around the kit, Icefeather gently nosed at the poor thing, trying to assess how bad it was before making any decisions. Eventually, she lifted her indigo eyes to her leader and spoke softly with her recovering voice. "I think we need to take them back to camp."

Purring softly at Summerkit's insistence that they not play with the berries, the white tabby moved one paw to carefully hook a berry onto her upturned paw. Giving the two kits a mischievous look, the medicine cat carefully chucked the berry across her den, watching as it rolled out of the entrance and into camp. "I appreciate the...gesture, Summerkit. But...these are too little. We...can play with them." It was better than just tossing them aside, and Icefeather had plenty of juniper left in her stores to last a while. There was no harm in having a little fun.

Phe and Jasmine's Two Close Friends

    Name: Bard

    Gender: Male

    Age: 14 moons

Appearance: tall, broad shouldered grey tabby with pale green eyes; his right ear has a clipped tip from when he was plucked off the streets as a younger cat and taken to get "fixed" before he was released back into the streets; also has a long scar on his left shoulder where no fur grows from a fight he got into with a dog (he won); usually has a very intense expression on his face

Personality: he is what Twolegs would consider a "mean cat" and it's kind of true; mostly, Bard is just very defensive - of himself and of those he is close to; if one of his friends is being threatened, Bard is quick to stand between them and the danger in an attempt to scare the threat off or engage himself; seeing as he is a large and intimidating tom cat, the scaring tactic usually works; Bard adores Phe, Jasmine, and Ro, but he does so quietly in the way he makes sure they've eaten, aren't overworking themselves, and stands at their shoulders during tense situations as support and back up; overall, he doesn't say much, but is known among friends to give good advice; he also doesn't like talking about the fact that he cannot have a family of his own without adopting kits as it's a sore spot for him; sometimes has to be the "mom friend" and hold back his more rambunctious counterparts from launching unprepared into fights; that said he's not a great strategist, but a decent fighter

Other: if he were to perish in the revolution, it would be because he was protecting a friend; undecided currently on his fate; he has no family since he was separated from them when he got scooped up and re-released; he found BloodClan and Phe because the Twolegs let him go free in their territory

She needed to stop taking walks through the territory, because every time she did, the medicine cat stumbled upon an injured Clanmate or someone looking to join. Or maybe that meant she should be taking more walks. Either way, Icefeather was in close enough proximity to the ThunderPath at the time to hear the fox getting hit by a monster. Smelling blood, a Clanmate, and hearing movement, Icefeather was quick to the scene but cautious to approach. Peering around some barren underbrush, the white tabby felt her gut clench and then swoop at the sight that greeted her.

"Ratshadow!" Icefeather's call was raspy and quieter than it should have been, but the action strained at her still recovering voice. Rushing forward, Icefeather fret over the former leader for a moment before leveling her indigo gaze with the injured she-cat. "Stay with me. Answer me. Can you walk?" Keeping her phrases short and simple - as much for her own voice as it was for Ratshadow's clearly dazed state - the white tabby hoped that Ratshadow would at least be able to lean against Icefeather so they could have some sort of prayer of a chance of getting back to camp. Icefeather could do nothing to help this far out and with no herbs. There was not other choice but to get back home.

Arriving in time to hear Sorrelkit apologizing to Flurrykit for what had been said earlier, the white tabby was relieved to see that things had been somewhat resolved. But apparently the price of this moment was Flurrykit's feelings and her ear. Crouching beside Nightfire in the nest, Icefeather examined the torn flesh carefully, gently cleaning away the blood in the fur around the wound so she could see it a little better. After a moment, she relaxed slightly, beyond relieved to find that the wound hadn't hit anything important and Flurrykit should still be able to hear properly out of the damaged ear. "She should be...fine. She just...needs some herbs...and to keep it...clean for a while." Steadily getting better at controlling her volume and pacing while speaking, Icefeather's words were a little clearer, a little less raspy and came with more frequency before she had to pause. Setting to work after reassuring Nightfire and Flurrykit, Icefeather started chewing up some marigold for the kit's wound.

Entirely frustrated with the tom as he quickly slipped away without the herbs he had brought, Icefeather huffed to herself. It would be stupid to leave them laying at the border to decompose without serving a use, but it felt wrong to take them when they were not given by the other medicine cat knowingly. Resolving to take the herbs and then given back what was given at the next medicine cat's gathering with an explanation, Icefeather scooped up the herbs - a bitter taste in her mouth that had nothing to do with the flora - and turned to head back to camp.

Shaking her head, Icefeather gestured to Bleachedbones to calm down, since they wouldn't get anywhere yelling at the tom. But she turned her bright gaze his way and still looked suspicious, unsure. "It does not matter...what you do...if you are doing it...behind your...Clan's back. DarkClan...Pitchstar...must all know...and agree to...whatever this is. Recompense...cannot be done...by one cat for...a whole Clan's...wrongdoings." Leveling her gaze with Cinderflame, wishing she could take those herbs he had, but knowing they were stolen from DarkClan's medicine den wrongfully, Icefeather shook her head firmly and flicked her tail, indicating that the tom needed to leave. "I think it best...you leave." Icefeather was glad to see that there were cats among DarkClan's rank looking to make up for what happened, but one cat against their whole Clan would do nothing but make the tensions worse. Cinderflame needed to inspire his whole Clan to reconcile with ShadowClan, or else he risked being labeled as a traitor if these actions of his were ever discovered.

The medicine cat wanted to scoff at the clear challenge in Sorrelkit's eyes, despite having faltered slightly with Ashkit's words. She wanted to tell the little kit that she had stared down death before, and a stubborn little scrap of fur was nothing to her pride or her fears. But this was the kit of two cats she cared for immensely, and a stubborn little creature trying to understand her place within the Clan. So Icefeather held back the emotions roiling under her skin. She would not, however, back down and walk off. Sorrelkit needed to understand.

"I do not...like your attitude. You hurt...your siblings...and were very...rude. Your mother will...hear of this...and she will...deal with you...accordingly. For now...play with your...siblings nicely. I have things...to attend to." Leveling one last cold glare at the kit, Icefeather glanced at Tigersparks nearby before stalking off towards the nursery in search of Briarthorn. The medicine cat wanted to tell Owlflight about this too, but she knew the deputy was probably out on patrol at the moment.

Irresponsible. Cedarpaw's voice, his demeanor, was far too calm for a cat who had been missing. Icefeather felt frantic, frayed, at the end of her rope. But she couldn't do this right now, couldn't do this here in the middle of camp. She and Cedarpaw would have to speak later, figure things out. For now, she needed to calm down, get her thoughts together in a less charged situation. She still needed to find another apprentice, just in case. If anything happened again, ShadowClan needed to have a stable base to fall back on, and that would only be gained if Icefeather had another apprentice. She needed to focus on that first, and her stray-now-found apprentice.

Turning her indigo gaze on her blind apprentice, Icefeather felt something in her chest give way and the tension in her shoulders deflated. "I'm just...glad you're safe." Turning away, the white tabby headed back to her den, feeling drained.
