Fawnleap was on a patrol with a few of her clan-mates, Sedgetail, Grasstail, Rabbitpaw, and Smokefur. They had recently settled back into their clan's rightful territory and the great mood rang across camp. Normally grumpy Ashstep was playing with kits and warriors were talking and laughing as they normally would, they still had a lot of work in fixing camp, but everyone was doing their fair share. As they approached the border the pretty she-cat stopped and tasted the air, "Shadowclan." She said simply to her Clan-mates, as her green eyes narrowed slightly. They fell together in a naturally defensive formation. "How may we help you?" Asked Fawnleap respectively, of the small Shadowclan cat she recognized to be an apprentice named Northpaw. Fawnleap's thin tail flicked back and forth waiting for the apprentice to speak.

Fawnleap watched as Olivepaw addressed the Shadowclan cat rather aggressively. Wondering if she should step in she decided against, her green eyes falling on his scar. Instead she watched calmly as the Shadowclan cat raised her fur. "Northpaw, if you're waiting for a patrol would you like to speak to Runningstar?" Fawnleap asked in a softer tone, hoping to ease the tension that was quickly swallowing the air around the cats.

Fawnleap looked up as Jaygatsby approached, "Great the whole clan is going to come and think we're under attack." She thought to herself, ever since they got back while everyone had been in better spirits, they had been much more hostile to other clans, always expecting an attack. "I don't think we need Cinderstar quite yet, Northpaw still hasn't told us her business here." Fawnleap's quiet gentle voice floated through the air, causing several cats to glance over at her. Grasstail nodded her agreement.

Fawnleap had been conversing with several warriors in the den when a loud wail of ATTACK!! filled the air, conversations abandoned the small she cat leaped to her paws in a lithe manner. Scanning she looked for Sedgetail, the two usually fought together, and spotting the cream tom she darted to his side and they made their way to the entrance of the warrior den. Suddenly a shadow fell across the den and the face of a snarling wolf obscured their exit. Uttering a small gasp of surprise, Fawnleap paused while Sedgetail darted and swiped his claws across the wolf's muzzle. Snarling the wolf began to force its way into the warrior den. Fawnleap rushed to Sedgetail's side and in a whirl of claws, they began attacking the wolf.

OOC: I wasn't sure what the leaders name was so i just used a random name :-[

IC: Blushing Fawnleap murmured sorry I meant Cinderstar, she glanced at the cream tom, the quickly cooling wind was blowing across the unprotected moor land. Shiver a little Fawnleap fluffed out her fur and tried to remain patient as Northpaw just glared at Olivepaw. "This isn't going anywhere." Fawnleap thought to herself and let out a soft sigh. Her dark green eyes glanced towards the setting sun, and her stomach rumbled softly.

Kestrelwing nodded and stretched before glancing around "Anyone else coming?" The sun was shining and because it was Fall-Leaf, the air wasn't cold yet, but it wasn't too hot like in Green-Leaf. The small she-cat leaned down to groom her fur, waiting for her clan-mate's replies.

Fawnleap giggled at Rabbitkit's antics, but stopped when Aeropaw lifted her head and addressed the kit. Padding over to Aeropaw Fawnleap dipped her head in greeting to Firefly, and smiled kindly at Aeropaw. The young she-cat glanced Aeropaw over thinking that she did look a lot better than she had before her father was killed.

Fawnleap raised an eye as the apprentice grumbled at her and flattened her ears. Fawnleap suppressed an eye roll. She had only been trying to help, instead she focused on Cinderstar's reaction. She wondered why Nebulaheart never mentioned this to anyone, well at least it didn't appear that way. The small she-cat watched as the Shadowclan apprentice glared at the leader "I certainty wouldn't have the guts to be glaring at a clan leader in front of their warriors." She thought to herself. Fawnleap glanced at the assembled cats as Cinderstar gave his answer.

Kestrelwing's face broke out into a large smile "Cirruskit!" She purred happily, her last immediate memory of the kit was shaking acorns on the heads of the Shadowclan warriors. Smiling she purred "Nice work in the battle, very resourceful." Her eyes met his and added "Very brave, but very dangerous." With that Kestrelwing shakily pulled herself to her paws and licked the small tom's ear. "Fawn must have been besides herself." She scolded the small tom, Shrugging she sat back down and noticed Rushwing padding into the den. She sent him a small little smile which he returned. "So Cirruskit what have I missed when I was out?" She asked him, knowing the tom probably had some good stories of what he had been up to these past few days."

Krestlewing listened with a happy smile on her face. "Yes Cirruskit i knew that, Rushwing finished her training, and as for dreams." Her voice paused and her eyes darkened a bit "I suppose you could say that." Smiling once again she switched the topic, "So how long until you become an apprentice?"

"Bare-leaf is still a few weeks away, we cannot wait that long." Splashfur mewed quietly, it was clear her mind was turning quickly with as much possibility she could come up with. "Maybe...." She mumbled under her breath Lionfur padded closer, "Maybe what?" He demanded in a quiet voice. Splashfur raised her voice so the cats gathered could hear "I was thinking the gorge, now I know how dangerous it is, sharp rocks and all, but if it has water, we can get it from there. And feed off the mice in the fields part of our territory. It won't be great, but we could get by until Bare-leaf at least." Splashfur glanced around shyly taking in the other cat's reactions.

Kestrelwing glanced at her clanmates with a sliver of amusement before flicking her bobbed tail. She used to have a nice normal sized tail, but she lost it to a fox. Shaking her head she mewed gently "Come on Ebonypaw, this is great weather for fishing." And with the the silver ticked tabby darted out of camp, and down to her favorite site to hunt. The shadows of fish swam lazily by and the Fall-Leaf weather was her favorite. Watching she saw a leaf from a tree drift down slowly landing on the river and making ripples. Dropping down into her crouch she stared at the water for a long while when suddenly her paws flashed out, and claws hooked around a fish. Kestrelwing dragged the struggling fish onto the banks and killed it nicely. She then settled back into her hunter's crouch.

Fawnleap noticed an opening near the wolf's neck, it was dangerous but if they didn't at least chase the wolf off soon, it would lay waste to the warrior's den. Glancing back she noticed her clan-mates with bristling were clawing at the wolf. Honeypool was bleeding from a cut on the side of her ear, and Cottonfur's tail had been bitten off. Fawnleap suddenly darts forward sinking her teeth into the wolf's scruff, only to have herself staring face to face with the wolf. "Fox dung" She thought, it must have seen her coming, she didn't have much time to react as she was roughly hauled up by her scruff. Wailing she felt the wolf shake her side to side, in an attempt to snap her neck, its large canine-like teeth sliced deep into the skin on her neck. "Starclan this is it. I'm going to die." She thought and a furious desire to live seized, but as much as she struggled the wolf was bigger than her, and there wasn't anything she could do. Suddenly the wolf howled in pain and dropped a dazed, scared, and bleeding Fawnleap. Glancing up shakily she saw Sedgetail leading an attack, a final push effort as the cats had swarmed the wolf and were clawing and biting viciously. Sighing with relief Fawnleap let her head fall back down to the cave floor, regaining her composure.

Splashfur glanced at the assembled cats. "It will still be dangerous and if the other clans are having droughts, then that's the border to Windclan, we might be looking at potentially having to defend the water. And the rocks are still sharp, one wrong slip and well..." The small she-cat's voice trailed off sadly clearly thinking of Runningheart. She shook her head and said firmly "I still don't think we should send apprentices, and we need to check to see if the Gorge even has water still." Her dark green eyes glanced around the cats, and blushed realizing the normally quiet and shy she-cat had been giving orders. "I....I'm sorry, I mean its up to the deputy and Reedstar of course." She mumbled glancing down awkwardly. Splashfur couldn't help but be distressed, the river had never dried up! Ever. It was the one constant in the face-paced life of a warrior, was... Starclan angry with them? She sighed and met eyes with Otterfur dipping her head shyly in a greeting, although worry rang clear throughout her face.

Splashfur smiled shyly and nodded, it was absolutely thrilling her idea might help the clan. Happily she brought up the end of the patrol, her mind drifting to Runningheart. She remembered that terrible fight with Windclan near the gorge a few moons back. Running wind had been fighting Gorsetail, they had both tumbled over the side. Since Splashfur had made been actively trying to avoid the Gorge. Now her idea would force her to go frequently. She sighed softly her dark green eyes darkened with worry. The ever hot sun still beat down on all the cats, making beads of sweat form under her short fur. It was too hot for the beginning of Fall-Leaf.

Fawnleap jumped a little and looked startled. Her gaze settled on the tom with relief. "Oh! You scared me!" She said with a small smile, "Apprentices will be apprentices. I was a terror at that age as well." She said with a small grin remembering the trouble she had gotten into. She was pretty sure the leader had made her a warrior in hopes it would mature her, which it had. Realizing he had complimented her thrush she mewed hurriedly "Oh thank you! Its a really nice day to go hunting." Her little bob tail, the result of one of her "adventures" as an apprentice twitched, "So what are you doing out here Darkpool?"

Splashfur opened her eyes slowly to the strange scents around her. The half-blooded she-cat glanced around the Windclan warrior den. The small silver ticked tabby had lived her life in Riverclan, until Reedstar had been murdered and Larkstar came to power. The sinister she-cat had made it very clear over the years that she would never welcome Splashfur into the clan, and fearing for her saftey Splashfur found herself fleeing to her father's clan, Windclan. Shaking her head and snapping herself out of these thought, the she-cat sighed before padding into the clearing. Glancing around nervously she slipped to the fresh-kill pile and eyed it distastefully before picking up a rabbit. She was grateful that Whisperstar took her in, but she was terribly homesick for her native clan.

Splashfur faltered for a moment at Otterfur's behavior. She wasn't quite sure what she did to the she-cat but she decided to ignore it with an eye-roll. She couldn't be focused on a bad tempered she-cat, she had a clan to help. As the patrol entered camp Splashfur felt anxiety burn at her, she had never been the center of attention or even wanted to. She considered slipping off but looking at Lionfur she decided that maybe, just maybe she'd stick around. Her whiskers trembled slightly as Reedstar padded out of his den staring at confusion at the patrol. "That's right he doesn't know the river's dried up..." Splashfur thought, wondering how he would take the news. The young lithe black tom padded over eyeing the cats with curiosity.
