Jasmine rolled her eyes. Of course I'm not going to leave you. Who would take care of you, moron? She didn't say these thoughts out loud. Well, at least the second part. "I'm not going to leave you, sis," she murmured, her face softened by the anguish on her sister's face Jasmine had seen before she had hugged her. "And if anyone tries to take you away from me, I'll taser them."
Smiling, she reached into her back pocket and pulled out the taser she had stolen from the officer when he had turned around to go to his ugly car. Jasmine was a pro at theft. -
Jasmine peered closely at Jadelyn's face. "That's an almost smile." She said with forced cheerfulness. Then she gently squeezed her sister's shoulder. "No matter what, we're in this together. Understand?"
Without waiting for an answer she put the taser back in her pocket and walked into the kitchen, glancing behind her to make sure Jadelyn was following. She had to eat. They both did. Although if Jasmine were honest with herself, she was just drowning her sadness in bites of food.
Brushing a strand of her raven black hair behind an ear, Jasmine turned intense green eyes on her younger sibling. They looked very much a like. Except Jasmine had darker green eyes and liked to dress more...well, not very modest. Just the way she was.
"Hungry?" She asked, her voice a little thick with suppressed tears. -
