well, uh, you clicked because you saw it was pafp or something?? or because the title sounds edgy af? idk man, i'm not you. but hi, nice to meet you. i wanted to do a private rp with someone, and so i set this up.

the setup of this rp is: my character is an art student who's starting to lose interest in art, and life in general. he finds solace within your character (whether it's because they feel the same way, or if because they're the complete opposite, or whatever, it's up to you) after they move in with him, as he needs a new roommate. whether you'd like it to be romantic or platonic is up to you.

i'd prefer a male counterpart, but i'm fine with a nonbinary or female counterpart, so feel free to do whatever. just leave a brief bio, and i'll see what we have. ]]

[[ nah let's not skip, since it'll be pretty important to establish ]]

"Yes, yes, he can come in," Elm calls, wringing his hands nervously as he mucks around his desk. Aya wonders what he's doing, letting the Mareep in fully.

"Thank you," she says, to which Elm doesn't reply; he seems too occupied with his desk to do much else outside of searching for whatever he's looking for. "Huh, wonder what he called us here for..." To be honest, she really doesn't know Elm that well; she remembers talking to Rowan, vaguely, but that's about it. All she knows is that she got a text message over her PokeGear, telling her to come to New Bark.

"Aha!" the professor cries triumphantly, holding two devices in his hands. Aya blinks, taking in the sight; she recognizes what those are.

"PokeDEXes?" she asks, tilting her head slightly. Elm looks briefly surprised before laughing nervously.

"Oh, yes, I forgot that your parents are the ones who supplied the materials," he says, rubbing the back of his head.

"Ah, yes!" Elm exclaims, holding the PokeDEXes like they're priceless. They may as well be, and Aya briefly wonders if it's okay to be leaving the two of them in two teenagers' hands. "I would like you two to fill up these PokeDEXes with information! Imagine the data! The information! The things we'll learn about Pokemon!"

Aya grins; she's already in. "Alright, I'll go. I'm not that great of a trainer, but I think we'll be fine." She nudges the Mareep, who bleats again excitedly.

"There's another favor I'd ask of you," Elm says, and pushes a button. The machine behind him opens up, revealing three PokeBalls. "Could you two... please take one of these guys? They're a new species of Pokemon that we don't know much about, and I don't think they'll like being trapped in the lab forever."

"Of course!" Aya says immediately. She's incredibly excited at the prospect of a new Pokemon--they're all so cute and likable.

Aya notes the other's nod, and she takes that as a sign to do as she wishes. "Can I let them out?" she inquires, and Elm nods excitedly, to which she does.

Three Pokemon, Grass, Fire, and Water, spring out of their respective PokeBalls and Aya can't help a sigh--they're so adorable. The three of them look around in confusion, blinking up at her, and--"How can I choose?" she whines.

Kasumi makes a noise that sounds like a laugh.

Before Aya can say anything else, the one with the long snout and the sparking back totters forward, and Aya can see how his cute appearance belies the strength he has from the way the flame neatly singles the table leg. From the color of said leg, it seems it's hardly the first time.

"I guess he made the decision for me," she laughs, patting him on the head with a grin as she bends down.

Aya tilts her head, looking at the last remaining Pokémon. She seems to be a water type, with sharp teeth and aqua blue in color. The Pokémon seems to treat the two of them with disdain. Elm sighs helplessly.

"That's Totodile," Elm says, clearly a bit unhappy. "Sorry, she's not fond of trainers; maybe one day…" He doesn't seem like he has high hopes. "Aya, your Pokémon is Cyndaquil; if you couldn't tell he's a fire type, even though he's a very mellow Pokémon. Ironically the fieriest is probably Totodile. Renee, Chikorita's your new partner. He's a grass type. Though that's pretty obvious, as well…"

He clears his threat. "Anyways! It'd be great if you could send me weekly updates over PokéGear!"

"Of course," Aya agrees easily. "Do you want pictures too?"

"You'll do just fine, Renee!" Aya exclaims with an encouraging smile. "You seem to have raised a great Pokemon already." Gumdrop does seem to be a friendly and happy Pokemon, and Aya can easily say the same for Kasumi and her two new Pokemon, though if the Mareep is hers is still up to debate.

"Pictures would be wonderful, if you can manage," Elm says, tapping the PokeBall against the Totodile to put her back. "Godspeed to the both of you!"

After bidding the Professor goodbye, Aya leaves the lab, her three (two?) Pokemon trotting after her. "Is there a name you want?" she asks the Cyndaquil, who just looks up at her, as though asking her to pick one. Unfortunately Aya is terrible with names.

"You'll have to wait on one for now, then," she says sheepishly, and the Mareep bleats. badum tss

"Oh yeah... Buddy, if you want to come with us, that's fine too," Aya tells the woolly Pokemon. "But I don't have any empty PokeBalls on me, and I don't have that much money to buy them. So if you don't want to walk all the way to Violet City with me, that's fine--"

Mind set, the Mareep interrupts her, hitting her hand lightly with his head, and she grins. "Alright then!"

"Huh...? Oh, sure," Aya says with a small smile. "You don't have to wait for me! I'm not really that great of a trainer, haha..." It's true. She's all but useless in battle, and whenever she encounters a wild Pokemon, Kasumi's usually the one to deal with it. For such a small Pokemon, she really does pack a huge punch. Impressive considering the lack of arms.

"We've never really found the need to fight," Aya admits. "Kasumi's... well, she's pretty low level, but only because we've always run from battles, and the ones we can't, she deals with." Kasumi's bubbly (badum tss) exterior belies a battle prowess, and honestly Aya feels pretty bad that she can't augment what Kasumi wants.

Aya clears her throat. "Alright, so where are we off to first?" she inquires, stretching. "I want to get back home to Violet City; we'll be able to get some free stuff there. Besides, I kinda want to pick up one of my family Pokemon." She grins. "Besides, there's a gym there! Falkner's kinda stiff, but he's alright."

Aya shakes her head. "No, it's fine! I like taking the scenic route, too. Besides, Kasumi might enjoy some battle experience... She doesn't get much, and I tend to run." She laughs a little awkwardly, rubbing the back of her head with red dusting her ears.

"Kasumi... she's level 16, last I checked," Aya says. "The Mareep is level 6; we just picked him up on the way to New Bark; I don't have any PokeBalls, either, so I can't properly 'catch' him. And I think Lief and Cyndaquil are both level 5." The PokeDEX is rather handy, she decides, snapping it shut after checking the data.

"It really depends though... do you two wanna level up?" she inquires the two Pokemon, who both excitedly chirp, and she grins a little. "I'll try my best, though... it might not be worth much, haha."

Aya blinks in surprise as Renee leaves without so much as a goodbye. Huffing slightly, she brushes it off and announces to her team, chipper as ever, "Come on, guys, we've got some places to go!"

With that, the three of them head out.

[[ nah it's not weird at all. i tend to tackle gyms underlevelled for the challenge though. ]]

Aya huffs, brushing leaves out of her hair as she finds herself in Cherrygrove. "Hey guys, we made it," she announces, grinning. Cherrygrove is a nice little place, and while bigger than New Bark, it holds the same feeling. "How are you guys holding up?" she asks the Pokemon. Kasumi hops forward, cheerful as ever, while the Mareep and Cyndaquil drag their feet, evidently tired. They're both young Pokemon, so that's to be expected, especially after some pretty vicious attacks from the resident wild Pokemon. Aya hadn't had the heart to knock them out, and they scurried away pretty quickly after a couple of solid hits from her Pokemon.

Kasumi hadn't really had a chance to do much, so that might be why she's so restless, but the Cyndaquil and the Mareep really need to rest for a little bit. Thankfully there's a Pokemon Center, so she heads towards that. The Cyndaquil really does pack a punch for such a small guy, and the Mareep is pretty nimble despite being so heavy with wool.

Aya enters the Pokemon Center, leading her Pokemon into the warm and homely place. She'd offered to carry the Cyndaquil, but he'd stoutly refused; it's adorable. Grinning at the memory slightly, she walks to the woman with the pink hair, Nurse Joy. "Hello," she greets. "Could you heal my Pokemon? Ah, the Mareep's not mine, he's kind of a wild Pokemon, but he's following me around, so I don't have a PokeBall to carry him around with."

"That's fine!" Nurse Joy assures with a bright smile. "We can supply you one." She pushes a PokeBall over the counter. Aya hesitates.

    "Are you sure?" she asks.

"Of course!" Nurse Joy presses the PokeBall into Aya's hand, and then nods at something or someone behind her. Blinking, Aya turns to see Renee, and she smiles at her. "Hey," she calls, passing Kasumi and the Cyndaquil's PokeBalls to the Nurse Joy. Aya holds out the PokeBall, and the Mareep happily touches his snout to the button. It shakes once, twice, thrice, and then stops moving, and Aya hands the PokeBall to Nurse Joy.

[[ ye i referred to Renee with she/her pronouns because Renee never makes their pronoun preferences clear, so Aya doesn't know. ]]

*You introduce yourself. Your name is Frisk, and you're very DETERMINED.

*This is your friend, sans. You prompt him to give a greeting as well.

    *...

    *What an... eloquent greeting.

*That doesn't matter at the moment. You and sans are here to answer questions that people send in.

*Of course, you're a person with standards, so there are of course rules people must follow when asking you questions so you and sans don't get uncomfortable. Here they are.

*You and sans are excitedly waiting for the asks.

    *...well, maybe not sans.

    *...

*...come to think of it, you don't really look all that excited either. Your face is an eternal poker face.

*You... take pride in this fact?

    [[ alright.

also oh god i may or may not have accidentally made an undertale ask thread ]]

Nurse Joy returns the PokeBalls, smiling warmly at her. "Take care of your Pokemon! If you require a place to stay overnight, we hope to see you!" Aya returns the smile, dipping her head.

"Thank you for the PokeBall, as well," she says before moving aside to let Renee through and do her business.
