He had not been expecting to see Kahlin throwing cabbages at the other Blackhearts.

Now, Osric was no expert on cabbage projectiles, but he was pretty sure that getting hit by a flying vegetable was a rather painful experience.

While Osric was contemplating the safeness of throwing cabbages, he was suddenly aware of a green thing hurtling through the air towards him. Unfortunately, the time between realizing 'oh shit, I'm about to be hit by a cabbage' and actually protecting yourself against the cabbage is somewhat longer than the time it takes for the vegetable to hit you square in the face.
Which it did. Hard.

But there wasn't time to think about that. Osric found a backpack-type-thing and stuffed it with books, making sure to include the one about the binge eating caterpillar. The tom bolted out the door of his room and huried to the highest point in the castle, where everybody else was.

It only took a split-second for him to realize Cthulha wasn't there.

'Cthulha!' Osric called in the direction he'd come from, fighting to force his panic down.

[align=left][font=georgia]Osric's task this week was to organize an early Christmas, and he had gone full out with the decorations.

The dining hall walls were lined with tinsel and fairy lights (do americans call them fairy lights?). A dozen small Christmas trees were scattered around the room, each branch adorned with a festive decoration. There was no shortage of fake snow, which was mixed with glitter (there was a bit of an accident with the glitter and Osric couldn't get it all out of the snow, hence the glittery snow). Cheery festive music blared from speakers around the hall.

'CHRISTMAS PARTY!' Osric called, although there was no way anyone could hear him over the Christmas songs playing in the background.
