✦ ✧ ✦ Ver's words are harsh. She hadn't expected to see Ver here too. A faint frown forms on her maw as she shuffles her paws. "The Coven has decided to shorten the number of allies it has, thus encouraging closer relationships with them." She responds with a glance upwards. "Perhaps in the future, the Coven and Haven can rekindle their relationship." She says, not bothering to stay any longer to be ridiculed. She gives Barghest a gentle nudge, indicating that she was ready to leave. The winged girl walks away, eager to return home.
✦ ✧ ✦ Gliding down to the two, the hybrid lands on her dainty paws with a soft thud. She looks to Angel with a warm and inviting smile, her rosy cheeks warm. "Welcome to the Coven!" Says the Polaris with delight, the end of her tail curling upright. She brings in her white wings closer to her body, pressing them against her sides. "I'm Aphrodite, leader of the Coven. Do you need anything? A tour, perhaps?" She meows, a soft giggle following afterwards.
✦ ✧ ✦"Welcome to the Coven." Says the hybrid, gliding down beside the rest of her crew. She smiles happily at the stranger, inviting them to the Coven with an air of warmth. Though, she had to be honest, she wasn't sure what the Court of Halcyon was. It didn't seem Barghest was aware either. "I'm Aphrodite, leader of the Coven. What can we do for you?" She says with a softness to her tone.
✦ ✧ ✦ Aphrodite doesn't try to listen too much to the talking among them. In the end, she would be alright with either outcome and she'd need to learn how to handle either way it went. Though, by the few words she can hear, it seems like most of them are in her favor. A small smile forms on her maw when Calina turns to her, standing up as tall as the stunted hybrid could. Though, Calina makes her distaste for Barghest known once again. Letting out a soft sigh, the girl nods, "I'll remember that for next time." She says with a curt nod of her head. If Calina didn't want Barghest to come, Aphrodite would just need to find someone else to escort her in the meantime. Though with the neutrality solidified, the winged Polaris grins. "Thank you, Calina. It's been a pleasure." She says softly, feeling a warm flutter in her chest. She did it! Aphrodite didn't suspect that any Covener would dare test the Veil anyway. With a confirmed nod of her head, the Polaris gets up on her paws to leave and head out.
✦ ✧ ✦ Ah good, her first two attendees! The hybrid smiles brightly at Debiru and Video, inviting them with warmth. "Ah, felix -
, could you give out compliments to everyone?" She purrs, figuring it would be a sweet activity to get himself known around here. Turning to Debiru, she pauses before coming up with one. " DEBIRU
, could you teach us one of your hobbies or something you like to do?"
✦ ✧ ✦ It had been a while since she'd hosted the last weekly tasks. She figured it was time for her to step up to the job. Besides, it would give her an opportunity to interact with those fresh faces around the Coven. "Come get your weekly tasks!" Calls out the Polaris, a kind smile on her maw.
✦ ✧ ✦ Aphrodite glides to the ground, joining Video at their side. She smiles brightly at the stranger, her tail curling on end. "The Coven is always accepting members." She says with a delighted purr, dipping her head with a kind greeting. "I'm Aphrodite, the leader of the Coven. Please, make yourself at home." She meows, tilting her head with a toothy grin.
✦ ✧ ✦"Asimov!" Calls the Polaris, gliding down gently to the ground when she recognizes the Cartelian godfather from above. A bright smile finds its way on her maw, her kind eyes resting on him. "How have you been? How's the Cartel?" She asks eagerly, happy to see her friend again. Peering over to look at the bag that he has, she winks, "Anything in there for me? Something pink?"
✦ ✧ ✦ Aphrodite had a feeling the news wouldn't be taken lightly. It was a hard decision that she'd come to, and she wasn't necessarily looking forward to it. She flinches at Yuri's words, a frown on her face. It isn't a game. It isn't a joke, she wants to say, but she keeps herself silent. "Maybe in the future, the Coven and Rift can rekindle their relationship." She says with a curt nod of her head. She didn't want to stay any longer and watch Cookiecrumbs fall apart. He was so sweet, he always had been such a sweet and kind face since the first day she'd met him. It hurt to watch him in pain.
She carefully takes the water for her, taking sips before she decides it's best that they leave. "I hope so." Aphrodite says quietly to Kinship, nodding her head. Her mind was made up. And though the politics were nothing compared to the death of Ama, she wouldn't feel right walking away without telling them. It was their right to know that their father had passed.
"I'm sorry." She says again, wiping her face. Turning to Barghest, the girl nudges her deputy. "Let's go, Barg." She meows to him, beginning to walk away from the Rift.
✦ ✧ ✦ This week was marked with both love and tragedy. While she had been so joyful for the wedding of Barghest and Mulder, and the return of Haneul, those joys didn't last long before Ama's death. For a few days, Aphrodite had been distant. His death had taken its toll on her, a reminder that nothing in life was permanent and that all would return to the dirt at some point. A morbid thought that she tried to avoid, but it was the reality of existence. The only thing she could think to do was how to remember the good times she and Ama had, and the advice that he had given her upon her crowning to Polaris.
"Coven! Please, gather quickly for our meeting." She calls out as she walks to the obelisk, finding a comfortable spot to sit. She knows that for the older members of the Coven, there is a dark cloud looming over them.
"Let's welcome our most recent members with kindness: SITRI
, Blits !
and felix -
. If you see them, make sure to say hi and make them feel welcome." The Polaris says as a smile graces her soft features. She pushes her paws together, hoping that within the crowd, those new members were there and happy with their recent choice to join. After all, this was home.
After a moment, she continues on, "For our rank changes this week, Kady is demoted. Mulder has decided to step down on his own to go and take care of his mother." She says sternly. It's disheartening to demote her mother, and to see Mulder leave, but she knew that the Coven would move forward. It would be waiting for them when the time was right. " TEMPEST .
and ATHANASIUS E.
are receiving warnings. I'd like to see both of your beautiful faces around a little more, okay?" She says, trying to cheer up with a pearly smile. She knew they were capable of it. "This week, BARGHEST.
is receiving a shoutout for his outstanding activity, as well as felix -
for their activity as newcomers. As well, DEBIRU
may step up to star seeker and train under me as a heavenly apprentice. Haneul
may also train as a heavenly apprentice." Brightly says the winged hybrid. She's happy to know that she'd be taking two under her wings, as long as they agreed. She knew that the pressure would be tough, but she thought that they could handle it. "I also have a few titles to give out! BARGHEST.
is receiving both the orion and the nightwatch titles. felix -
are both receiving stargazer titles." The Polaris announces with joy, "Congratulations!" She says, letting a loud purr ring from her voice.
Giving everyone a moment to collect themselves from the long list of rank changes and titles, she pauses and hums. "Let's talk about outerclan stuff before we talk about Coven stuff. From now on, I have decided that the Wind Haven and the Drowned Rift are neutrals. Ambassadors for them are no longer needed. But, regardless, be kind if you ever see them. This does not make us enemies." The girl says, her icy gaze looming in the crowd. She didn't think it would bother anyone, the change of an ally to a neutral didn't mean too much for the Coven at this time. They were peaceful, and it wasn't like they were planning to attack them.
"Finally, let's get to Coven stuff. As many of you know, our dear Penumbra Amaranthine has passed away. He will be missed deeply by the Coven - Spiritline is hosting the funeral. Please, a moment of silence." The girl says quietly. It was the best she could do right now, to remember Ama. For that moment, she hangs her head with her eyes closed, allowing a few seconds of silence to pass by.
After their moment of silence, she lifts her head. For once, there weren't tears welling in her eyes at the thought of Ama's death. She takes in a deep breath and lets it out, prepared to move on with the rest of the meeting. "As far as the Coven goes, we are very thankful to have Haneul back. Please, welcome him home with open arms." She says, turning her head, "Some of you may also have noticed that Shimmer Lake is drying up. We haven't figured out why, or what is happening to our lake, but we do know that we are running out of water. We need to conserve what we have left, and travel to our allies to ask for water." The Polaris says with a stern tone. "In other events, I am hosting herb training. Mulder and Barghest are having a wedding. And lastly, Barghest is sending out water patrols to assist with the drought we are facing. If none of those are your fancy, I will be hosting the next set of weekly tasks." Aphrodite says, lifting her head to the crowd gathered. "If Barghest has nothing to add, the meeting is dismissed!" She says, waving her tail.
Aphrodite faintly smiles as the Haveners gather, despite the news she's going to deliver. However, it never hurt to greet others with kindness. Her gaze shifts back and forth between Juba and S, those she recognizes as the leaders of the Haven. After a moment, she clears her throat. "S, Juba," She says to them, looking back and forth, "I have decided that it's time for the Coven and Haven to part ways as allies. The Coven would like to remain as neutrals for the time being. The Coven, as you know, is a peaceful group and we treat our neutrals with kindness. This isn't an act of war or disposition, more-so, an act of growth." She says, shuffling her paws.
✦ ✧ ✦ Aphrodite recognizes Kinship, smiling brightly at them despite the news she was going to deliver. The girl gently shrugs her shoulders, "It wasn't too bad." She responds with a confident nod of her head. After all, being able to fly had its benefits.
When Yuri approaches, he catches her attention. She remembers him as being less tasteful to speak with when he'd visited the border. It seemed that he hadn't changed much. "Well, yes and no." She responds as a small sigh comes through her parted lips. She's ready to tell Yuri, but Cookiecrumbs approaches before she has a chance to elaborate. Good, he needs to hear this, she thinks, the light in her gaze dimming. "Water would be nice . . The Coven is suffering from a drought." She murmurs, nodding as Barghest asks for water. With Shimmer Lake drying up, water was becoming more scarce.
"I. . have decided that the Coven and the Drowned Rift should part ways as allies. Now, take it with a grain of salt, that does not mean we have decided to be enemies. Cookiecrumbs would know better than anyone that we are peaceful, and we will receive neutrals with kindness. I have just decided to cut ties with some of our allies." She says, her gaze drifting back and forth between Cookiecrumbs and Yuri as she speaks. It was a hard decision to make, but Aphrodite had decided to keep some clans closer than others. The Drowned Rift didn't make the cut for her. "And Cookiecrumbs," She adds quietly, rubbing her paws against the ground. "I know you haven't been to the Coven in a while - That's okay. But, there's something you need to know." She says, trying her best to not allow herself to start crying. However, she couldn't help but have her vision be blurred by the water in her eyes. "Amaranthine is dead. I'm so, so sorry." She says quietly, feeling the sting in her eyes. "Spiritline is holding a funeral. You are welcome to attend."
✦ ✧ ✦ There was no way that Aphrodite would miss this wedding for the world. She'd known it was coming for a while now, and every day she saw Mulder and Barghest smile at each other was just a reminder of their love. Endlessly, she wondered if she would ever find a love like theirs. They had so much history together, so much life lived, and in the end the most important thing they had was each other.
Wordlessly, the Polaris sits in attendance at the wedding. A bright smile curves her lips as her rosy cheeks are highlighted by the rose colored bows on her ears. Quietly, the young girl pays attention and listens carefully, eager and busting at the seams with anticipation for the remainder of the wedding.
✦ ✧ ✦ Aphrodite could never bring herself to harm someone. Even when faced with death, she could never raise a paw. Let alone, Aphrodite could never imagine someone harming themselves. It had never occurred to her that medicine went beyond herbs - It was mental too. There was no such thing as being healthy if the mind wasn't taken care of too.
When the smell of blood hits her nose, its rusty smell instantly recognizable, her ears perk up with concern. As far as she was aware, no one should have any injuries. When she follows the scent, she ends up finding Debiru in his dazed state, blood on his face and leg. "Debiru!" She cries out, rushing over to face him. There is a clear concern in her icy gaze as she looks back and forth from his mouth to the leg. But clearly, there was no one else around. Debiru was alone. "Debiru? Are you okay? Did you do this?" She says, a frown forming on her face. Luckily, she had her satchel on her.
Placing the pink satchel on the ground, she quickly begins picking out herbs. "Deb. . I'm going to take care of you, okay?" She says, a watery gaze looking to him. She moves over to his leg, carefully watching him to make sure he was okay with her movements. She would attempt to gently press cobwebs onto the puncture marks, hoping to suck up the blood and allow the wounds to clot.
✦ ✧ ✦"Welcome to the Coven, Porcelain. I'm Aphrodite, leader here." Says the wildcat hybrid, gliding down to a gentle stop to join the two. A friendly smile warms her face, softening her features. She dips her head in greeting, her gaze peering over to see the gifts that Porcelain had brought. "Ah, thank you very much, the Coven appreciates your gifts." She says brightly. "A phoenix? That sounds horrible - Is there anything the Coven can do to help?" She murmurs with a tilt of her head.
✦ ✧ ✦ In all her lifetime, Aphrodite had never seen the Shimmer Lake's water levels drop so low. It was concerning to say the least, unnatural for the lands of the Coven. As she approaches the group, her icy gaze looking across the water, she shakes her head discouragingly. "Something isn't right . . this hasn't ever happened before - Not like this." She murmurs to herself, unaware of the events that would unfold.
Overhearing some ideas, her rounded ears turn to Felix. "Yes, I think asking our allies would be our best bet. I'm sure they wouldn't mind providing us with some water. We'll need to conserve what we have left religiously." She says quietly, a clear nervousness in her tone.
✦ ✧ ✦ Among the group of the welcoming committee was the meek Polaris. With a small smile coming across her face, she lets out quiet giggles at Sitri's speech. But, nonetheless, her icy gaze rests on Cloven as she greets them warmly with a dip of her head. "Welcome to the Coven of Elysia." Says the hybrid, pulling her soft wings close to the frame of her body. "I'm Aphrodite, leader here. You are more than welcome to come to me with any questions you might have, and I'll do my best to help." She says as a purr comes rumbling from her gentle tone.
There were very few times that Aphrodite had faced tragedy in her life. The first time she'd met Death in the flesh, she had been the first one to discover her mother's lifeless body. For a long time after that, she was untouched. She had been spared many times the heartache and pain of death, but she knew that it was inevitable. It was a part of life, natural or not.
When she approaches the group, she can feel the heavy grief in the air hanging over them like a dark cloud. The air feels thick and uninviting. It isn't until she closes in on them that she realizes what has happened and the horror comes across her face. Ama. . . She thinks, memories of the two flooding her head. Ama had watched Aphrodite grow, he'd been there for her, he treated her with care and trust, and in the end, he became someone that she could look up to and ask for advice. Tears well in the brim of her eyes as she chews on her cheek, trying not to break down. She was beginning to learn that death was never easy, and it was always agonizing. My dearest Ama. . . I hope your soul is resting peacefully. . She thinks as she squeezes her eyes, a single tear making its way down the crease of her face.
She wipes her face, looking to Spiritline, and then to Fireghost. The girl gives a gentle nod of her head, "Thank you." She says, for protecting Spiritline. She couldn't imagine losing both of them at the same time - Two individuals that she looked up to so much. "Could we have a word, Fireghost?" She says, trying to draw herself away from the scene of Ama's body.
