Ic~ Hawk eyed the place. It was certainly... interesting. Maybe this had been a foolish idea. Like anyone interesting was going to come here and furthermore be interested in him. So, resigned, he lay down in a corner and watched the normal rank exclusive with dark, amber eyes, flicking to each cat with no more interest than he would eye a scarab sifting through the sand.

Ic~ The increasing humidity made Talon's lungs strain, and her pelt flatten stickily to her skin. Her mind roiled with the possibilities of what was up ahead. Lava? An underground hot spring? Yeah... probably. She had over heard some talks about hot water deep underground. The cave was widening out, giving her more room to breathe.

Ic~ Hawk raised his head to look at Sin, his eyes actually sparking with interest. Him of all cats. "Hello." His voice wasn't unkind, but very expressionless, almost curt. "And to whom to I owe the pleasure of meeting?" The tone shifted to mild curiosity, but his eyes betrayed nothing. It was a skill he had acquired dealing with his five kits.
It was almost lonely when the mother had left them to fend nearly alone. It had also nearly torn Hawk's heart. But he got over it. He promised never again. That he would be sure next time, if the slim chance arose ever again. They were a handful, but no one would probably even notice them. He tried not to.

Ic~ Immediately her expression grew so sorry and full of pity. She couldn't imagine how it would be to not have legs. This time her pen was slower, her expression solemn.

She suddenly understood how easily he had fallen, and how unfair her fast, light crowd-weaving was.

Ic~ She found herself confiding in him, even the things she knew she shouldn't. "I've shared and kept enough for several lifetimes over." There was a sadness and foreboding in her voice. "Laughter is something that happens when you feel like it. I remember when laughing came easily. Not any more." Her eyes darkened.

Ic~ It was just as Talon had expected. A huge pond of steamy water stretched through the darkness, black and still. The steam rippled and danced over the surface, wispy and silent like creeping death. Her awe was kept to herself, but her eyes were stretched wide at the discovery.

Ic~ Hawk blinked and looked down. "My name is Hawk. It is..." He couldn't really figure out what to say. Good? What in Bloodclan was ever good? Alright? How indistinct. "Pleasant... to meet you." At the words, his eyes darted to the ground. "And, if you're willing to say, what made you come over here?" Not that I discourage it...
