Though Excalibur seemed to be well behaved and kind-hearted, she was simply glad to have company in case anything happened.
...Then again, a wolf joining the Tribe would be a great asset; the wild canines were strong and fast, and there was no doubt on her mind that this male wasn't. Plus, it was just a good thing to have more members in general, not only for power reasons but also for social ones.
"It's nice to meet you, Excalibur," Mary replied, dipping her head to him. His name was a bit complicated, but she managed to pronounce it with ease. "I would be delighted for you to join, but I'll leave that decision up to my Tribemates." She did have the power to accept him into the Tribe, true, but Mary didn't like to make important decisions like these on her own; the Healer casted a glance back to Calla and Juvia once again, waiting on their final choice.[/fancypost]

No matter what happened in TidalClan's land, they would be together-- and that was all she needed right then. No-- she wouldn't afraid of TidalClan. They could attack and poison and rattle her Tribe's cage all they wanted, but there was no way in hell that TidalClan could truly take away what mattered most to her Tribe.
She stiffened slightly as the voice of a hostile female rang in her ears, and though the Healer didn't move, her eyes searched for it's owner to no avail. As her sister calmly spoke a response, Mary nodded her head occasionally, clearing her face of any fear that it may have retained earlier. All of Showerkissed's statements were true, yet she found herself adding to them in a few words of her own.
"Would you rather keep your pride or the lives of TidalClan [i]and the Tribe of Many Storms?" Mary questioned Inkstar, speaking strongly for once so the hidden Inkstar could hear her words, loud and clear. Usually not one to speak out, the feline's gaze was drawn to her paws; what if she said something wrong? What if this upset TidalClan even more? She hoped her words were clear enough; if this back and forth violence continued, eventually lived would be lost.[/fancypost]

Remnants of the summer still lingered here and there, keeping the air not too cold but not too warm; that specific temperature satisfied most, considering some liked the heat and some preferred the cold. Trees which surrounded her Tribe's mountain had found that their leaves were slowly turning beautiful hues of oranges and reds and browns and practically everything in between, and eventually the leaves all fell from their perches, littering the ground. Then, there was that brilliant autumn sky that she looked forward to almost every evening; just after sunset, the atmosphere seemed to become an impossible shade of dark orange, and the stars seemed even brighter than before.
But then again, that was in the old territory; she had no idea what autumn in this new and unfamiliar place would bring.
Mary pricked her ears as a call sounded in the air, and she quickly spotted Ballad, the speaker; trotting over to the younger tom, the Healer gave a small nod of both agreement and greeting. "I'll need to grab some last-minute herbs, too," she mewed, leaning forward in a deep stretch and letting out a sigh. "But I can definitely help to hunt as well-- it looks like we'll need all the help we can get." the feline added with a shrug.
She noticed Ballad seemed uncomfortable already in the dropping temperatures; personally, Mary enjoyed a little cold, but she probably didn't mind as much due to her thicker pelt.[/fancypost]

The Healer, though she didn't have as much fighting sense as the next, immediately became suspicious and her senses livened even more; as Inkstar leaped down in front of Mary, she didn't flinch or cry out, but instead merely raised her chin and took the leader's gaze dead on.
She didn't like how Inkstar seemed to ignore Showerkissed's speech, yet listened to the few words that she had said instead. Perhaps it was because Inkstar had never seen Mary before?
When the savannah called her "little lamb," Mary lightly laughed to herself; Inkstar didn't even know how appropriate that was. But in all seriousness, she reverted her attention back to the leader. "My name is Mary," the Healer answered, quiet but firmly. "And you have that choice to make now." She had many words to say, many thoughts shooting through her mind as she went over Inkstar's words once more, but there just wasn't enough time in the world to say them all; they could stand there, contradicting each other day and night, but there would never be a clear winner.[/fancypost]

The Healer quickly found her way towards the others, taking a seat near the sidelines so she wouldn't get in the way of others. Not sure of the news, though it seemed to be important considering the eager way the meeting was thrown together, she gave Orangejuice's words a small shrug. She couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt in her stomach; seeing others dismissed of their positions, especially they had only gained them so recently, made Mary feel horrible. Silentkiss was a sweet girl, as far as the Healer could remember, but then again she probably couldn't keep up with her position, being so young and all.
And then there was the talk of Charades. More guilt unpleasantly coursed through her veins and the tabby had to regain her balance, drawing her blue gaze to the ground sadly. Her trainee's absences had been excused for the time being, however if her inactivity continued, Mary and Showerkissed would have no choice but to demote her. Again, Charades was very kind and a good kid, but that wouldn't make up for anything in the future. Healers needed to be around and alert at all times no matter the circumstances.
She peeked up at her sister once more, curious to know if that was the end of the meeting. Maybe there would be some promotions to end the meeting on a happier note? Mary didn't remember discussing any promotions and she hadn't heard about them, so she figured there probably weren't going to be. There were quite a few members that would make wonderful Hosts and such, and Mary had quite a few in mind already; even some of the regular members were more active than some of the high positions.[/fancypost]

She gave the nearest pumpkin a quick sniff or two but instantly recoiled as the scent hit her nose; she definitely wasn't expecting [i]that smell. They smelled kinda... Earthy. Mary decided that they were probably a plant of some sort-- like, uh, apples or something like that. Since the Tribe moved to the mountains, those fruits and vegetables were pretty much never around.

The question as, where had he disappeared to? Judging by his wounds, it wasn't somewhere pretty; perhaps he had tried to live off on his own for a while? No-- that didn't sound right; Charades was a trainee, so if he had time to dress his cuts and scrapes, he would have. When he spoke, there was a horrible poison to his voice that made chills dance up and down her spine. What the hell had happened to him? She slightly just shook her head to herself; the sudden personality changes in Mary's Tribemates-- even her own [i]trainee-- was beginning to scare her.
And then there was that horrible guilt flooding in her stomach, pumping through her veins, making the Healer want to burst into tears. "C-Charades!" Mary finally managed to say, running up to her trainee though making sure to keep a distance away. "Of course we care! Why... I, um... As the feline leaned in to speak quietly in Mary's ear, she winced slightly, her gaze momentarily flooding with more guilt and regret. "I don't know," she whispered back, voice quivering. "But I hope he's okay." The sudden change of personality in Charades almost made her feel as if it was all her fault for some reason, like she had failed him as a mentor-- as a friend.
Letting out a quiet sigh, Mary attempted to return back to her "happy" state, plastering the smile on her face once again for the crowd. "That's a really good idea, Bal. First, there was Ballad with his dread of the colder seasons, and now the rain.
Her experience as a Healer may had impacted her thoughts about rainy days, seeing as rain meant growth and growth meant herbs, but she still loved the rain. Full-blown storms were another story, of course, even though Mary still admired them greatly.
She had simply been watching the drops fall, growing from one or two drops to a steady beat of rain hitting pavement, lightning lighting up the sky on occasion. Spotting Showerkissed dashing for shelter, Mary made her way to the first few floors where everyone had huddled together. "Is everyone alright?" the feline immediately asked. The little group seemed fine, if anything, a little damp and grumpy from the rain.
She nodded towards Nala in agreement as the Aviator spoke. "Should we gather everyone from the village...?" Mary asked slowly and carefully. If this new and strange territory did have a tendency to flood, they would need to evacuate the Tribe's inhabitants-- and quickly.[/fancypost]

The true Autumn months had just begun and Mary could feel a twinge of excitement inside of her; unlike most of her Tribemates, she adored the cooler months. However, this would be the first Leaf-fall the Tribe of Many Storms would have in this new territory, and no one could be certain what the cold would bring.
Already, others were complaining of the cold on top of the mountains; if things were already bad during the Autumn, what would happen when Winter came? Surely, sickness would spread like wildfire-- and, there would be no herbs growing to salvage it.
Mary nodded to herself; she would need to collect all the herbs she could before the ground froze. There were already few plants growing this high up on the mountains anyway, so they would have to go a bit lower in order to find the necessities.
After rising to her paws, the tabby carefully made her way down to the village, where she figured most of her Tribe would be hanging out. "Does anyone want to help me collect herbs?" she called out, shuffling her paws nervously. Hopefully, there would be a few willing to go out into the muddy terrain to pick some flowers and leaves with her; she wasn't going to try to glorify the process, like some did.[/fancypost]

I'm mostly looking for catmint or chickweed in case of greencough, but things like chervil or feverfew might also be needed. If you're not up for grabbing herbs, I'd appreciate some moss or cobwebs, too." she replied slowly, nodding to herself as if to confirm. "I'm glad you're coming." Mary added, giving her older sibling a little nudge.
She nodded to Effie as she spoke again. "Chervil and Chickweed look like a bundle of ordinary green leaves, but there are little white flowers mixed in with them. Feverfew basically looks like daisies but with a sharp scent, and I think everyone knows what cobwebs and moss look like." Mary explained. The Doctor wanted to pick things that were simple to remember though still useful; not that she thought her friends weren't capable of remembering the herbs.

She saw her trainee, looking determined though also a little frightened, out of the corner of her eye; assuming that Charades had scented the blood as well, Mary followed him after snatching a bundle of cobwebs from her stash. It wasn't long until they both reached a stranger on the edge of the territory, looking torn and beaten like a ragdoll. Despite all of her work with wounds and blood, there would never come a day where she was used to that horrifying look of someone close to death.
"Oh my god," Mary gasped, her voice practically caught in her throat. "Charades, c-can you grab some more cobwebs? I-I'll... Try to stop the b-blood." She knew that the younger cat could probably run quicker, and perhaps alert anyone else in the village.
