    ((It's okay c: ))

The ride went on, and as they pulled to a stop Reth was still recovering from the anxiety that had filled his body during the loop. He clumsily got out of the seat, stumbling a little bit due to his shaky legs.
Of all things, why did he have to pick that ride? Sometimes Reth didn't understand his own logic.
He tried to put on a smile, because all of the others seemed to be wearing one, but it ended up being as wobbly as his exit, so he just replaced it with his real, regretful expression. This was a fantastic way to get Annie to have a good day--send her on all the insane rides that she admits she's afraid of! That would totally work.
"I am so sorry." He whispered after they'd gotten a bit further from the ride. "For me as much as for you." Reth looked around the park, and then the time on his phone.
    1:43
"You wanna get some lunch or something?" He suggested hopefully. "Anything but more rides?" He'd have to fit more in after, but he didn't want to become exhausted from panic and shock caused by entertainment that Annie seemed to be handling better than him.

"Maybe." Ryce nodded, feeling a flick of relief inside him at her apology. "Where does Aaron normally hunt? If it's a big place we could split up and cover more ground." He suggested, thinking that a little bit of hope might help Meira in a situation like this. In fact, a little bit of hope in a situation like this might go a long way, even for Ryce.
It did, however, seem strange that Aaron didn't tell Meira about his departure, but maybe that was something that he did often. He had no idea how their family worked.

((Sorry, I think I'm gonna go to bed, I'm kinda tired...Good night! ))

"Well, we're gonna have to go with something a little less fancy than our usual pancakes and soup." Reth joked, thumbing through his wallet. There were a few food stands and a large area with picnic tables and benches, fairly empty except for the few scattered families and loners. Reth was about to be one of those loners, eating two meals by himself. A thought occurred to him after he connected himself to those strangers. Were other people able to see ghosts like Annie? Were ghosts and living people simply paired together to keep sanity, and they could not see any other spirits beside their friend? These were strange questions that Reth would probably never bother to go back to do to laziness and boredom.
"What do you want?" He asked as they stood in the middle of the near-complete circle of food carts.

"Not if we ate in a Honey Bucket!" Reth joked, pulling out a twenty dollar bill that he was sure would cover whatever they had here, unless they were overcharging much more than they should.
As he stepped into the shortest line he could find, Reth turned his attention to the guy Annie was watching, making a face of disgust and amusement at the same time. "I might've just lost some of my appetite." He whispered, his eyes glued to the unflattering scene. However, when it was his turn to order he got a pretzel and soda anyways.
When Annie mentioned the teasing of strangers he thought for a moment, his mind trying to decide wether to be safe or have fun. "Okay, just one person, but that's all!" He compromised, settling that one surprise wouldn't be too suspicious. He was curious as to what Annie was going to do. Maybe she just wanted to take someone's food and eat it, or maybe throw it across the table.

He frowned, watching the tears flow from her eyes. Ryce pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, offering it to Meira.
"How long have you been having to do things like that?" He asked. And how much did they consider getting by? A home and a meal a day?

Ryce put his hand to his face, digging his thumb nail into his chin. He'd never been to the jail, but he had met one of the caretakers at a dinner once. He had no idea how they treated prioners, but it couldn't be hard to bribe a worker to let them go. "Do you know where the jail is?" He asked. "We could always check in to make sure..."

Ryce felt that saying 'You won't.' would be an appropriate response, but that wasn't a fact. She could very well lose her family. "Come on, I can help. We'll just ask for directions, someone's bound to know where the jail is." He paused. "Unless you know someone else who hunts? They might know something..."

"Could we find him anywhere?" Ryce asked. It was strange to him that anyone would want a drunk partner for hunting, but considering that what they were doing was illegal, maybe the only people that would accompany Aaron were either mentally impared or very desperate.

Reth grinned, leaving Annie to her mischief as he looked for a shady bench to eat at. There weren't many taken, but if they sat in one of the less noticed corners Annie might be able to have some food as well. No matter what, the amusement park would benefit from ghost rumors in the end.
He sat down on a blue bench beside an overgrown bush, setting the paper plate and cup on the edge and folding his hands in his lap as he searched for Annie and her victim. When he picked her out from the rest of the tables of people he smiled, letting out a small laugh. That was cheating! A couple did not count as one person. He put a hand over his eyes to see better, squinting at the three figures. The drink was tipped over and Reth's smile faded slightly. That was going to be hard to clean. As Annie stayed beside the two he silently begged her to come back, his imagination creating all the ways she could top her previous action if she decided to. Some relief was released through Reth as she turned to join him instead.
There was no response that he had expected. No--"Oops, that was a bit much!" or "They're not going to come back here anytime soon!", nothing bubbly or funny, just a mumbled response to her own actions.
"Um...Yeah, you wanna sit down?" Reth replied awkwardly, not exactly sure how to react to such a serious comment.

"Maybe he has some...Hobbies..." Ryce responded awkwardly, trying to cover his dumb question. Normally he would've laughed at a mistake like that, but Meira didn't seem too in a good mood for something like that. "Sorry."

Whoa, sorry for the late reply, I never saw your response! I just realized that clicking the 'Mark all threads as read' in the latest threads would make replies to me disapear from my inbox thing oirgheur
    I'm such a genius ;-;

Thank you, and Noc is a girl c:

Ryce took long strides until he was beside Meira again, surprised by how small she looked with her head down like that.
"It'll be okay." He said quietly, looking at his feet as they continued to walk. That might've not been the greatest thing to say, but even if Meira exploded with anger it might be good for her--she wouldn't be holding anything inside.

    ((I think mine's shorter than yours, sorry ;-; ))
Reth wasn't so sure he believed that twitch excuse, but she did seem genuinely upset by what she did. He frowned, confused as to why she would need to lie to him about anything. No matter what, he wouldn't want to get into a conversation like that, so he left the questions where they were.
"I'll forgive you, if you eat some lunch." Reth teased, trying to go with Annie's mood change. He really did mean it though, he was going to make his friend eat if he had to force the food down her throat. Actually, he wouldn't do that, it'd probably set him back on points for making her have a great and memorable day. "Do you like pretzels? I can go get something different if you want." Acting as if she were definitely going to participate in lunch that day was something Reth hoped would convince Annie to eat with him.

"I'm not going to say that, because there's still a chance that they aren't." Ryce said. His arms were away from his sides, trying not to touch Meira since he still didn't know her well enough to tell what she was comfortable with. There were a few people that passed, staring with embarrassment for them and confusion that made Ryce's face go slightly pink. "You okay? We can sit down if you need to." He suggested, recalling that crying can make you very exhuasted.

"I want people to think I'm the food version of Magneto though!" Reth whined. A person that happened to be passing by laughed, putting a hand over their mouth in an attempt to make Reth not notice. He grinned, far more appreciating the laughter than the rude comments whispered in someone's ear. It actually didn't matter much how people reacted to him talking to himself anymore, he'd seen everything they could come up with to try and humiliate him, and he was used to it by now.
Reth hadn't exactly realized that Annie had been staring at him until she moved, making his face turn a pinkish color. He turned to watch a few kids playing marbles, setting his chin in his hands as he tried to get his mind off the staring. She'd probably just been spacing out. He did that a lot in class, and sometimes he'd end up eyeing someone for a long time without realizing it.
"You know, I don't think I could've had a better friend than you." He turned back to Annie, deciding to respond to her comment from earlier. If she was able to say something like that, he should be able to as well. Then again, he kind of wished he hadn't have done that.

Ryce sat silently for a minute, staring at the dusty ground and dying grass. How long had it been since they'd woken up? "You hungry?" He asked, turning his attention away from a small spider on the arm of the bench.
