Applefur was lying in her nest limp and shuddering. Her eyes were wide. Her lower belly felt like it was on fire. She barely heard Pinestripe when she called her name. Something had gone wrong on the labour. Something drastic.

((Can Cloudfoot and Moonstream a huge confrontation where Moonstream's yells about how Cloudfoot is so overprotective and all that jazz?))
Cloudfoot tried to lick his mates ears and muzzle her belly.

Suddenly, Applefur drops into a crouch. "OW!"

Stung, Cloudfoot backs up with hurt in his eyes. "Where did my mate go?"

Cloudfoot staggered backwards as if he had been hit. His eyes were wide and blank.

Applefur tries to reassure her mate. "Really... I'm fine." The truth was, she was having contractions.

Applefur bites her lip to keep from screaming as another contraction hits her. She shakes her head.

Grey tottered around on unsteady kit legs and ran into the much bigger and mature Skykit. Grey sits down heavily and begins crying.

Cloudfoot recognizes Moonstream's yowl. He raced into te forest.
