Yes to the both of you

It's kinda up to you. In Platinum they added a couple new characters, added new events, and completely changed the main story. Other than that it is somewhat they same. I do recommend you to play Platinum when you get the chance. In my personal opinion it's by far the best Pokémon game made.

Eyyyyy I see what you did there haha. I found Gen 5 to be a bit lacklustered. It had a good story, but it just moved so slow and some of the Pokémon designs where quite lazy. (I'm looking at you Trubish and Garbodor)

Personality: John displays a cool, reserved, and serious personality most of the time. He is shown to be an introvert, as he prefers to be alone rather than socialize. Even in a group and will stay in the shadows in order to exclude himself from conversations. John is often known to wear a straight poker face but that itself contradicts with his sarcastic and somewhat catty personality. He can come off as very blunt and won't hesitate to speak his mind. That being said, he does have a warmer side that shows how generous, soft, and thoughtful he can be.

IC: "Well Malachite it seems as though we finally have a Pokédex at long last..." A young boy muttered to himself as he quietly roamed the streets of New Bark Town. "I'm actually surprised that Professor Elm even wanted us to help him with his research." He added turning his attention towards the Larvitar that waddled beside him. "Tar!" The Ground-Type growled with excitement at the thought of finally being able to travel the region with his trainer. As the two continued moving towards the edge of town, John's Pokégear began the buzz prompting the boy to reach into his bag and pulled the device out. "Who could that be?" The boy commented with a quizzical look before answering the call and within seconds Blackthorn City's very own Clair appeared on the screen. "Oh it's you... why are you calling me?" John asked slightly taken back by the Gym Leaders call. "Well hello to you too John. Since when does a mother need permission to talk to her son?" Clair responded prompting John to drop his gaze towards the floor out of embarrassment. "N-Never I just thought you'd be busy with your Gym duties." He replied turning his gaze back to the screen. "Relax John you're so uptight you know I'm only messing with you. So how are you and Malachite doing?" Clair replied. "Lar?" Malachite squeaked with a excitement as he heard a familiar voice call out his name and attempted to snatch John's Poké Gear, but was met with a gentle shove. "Larvitar..." Malachite grunted quickly shooting a sad look up at John. However, Malachite didn't actually take his trainers actions to heart. After all the two of them pretty much grew up together and where nearly inseparable even now. Plus Malachite got a kick out of "annoying" John whenever he got the chance. "He's being a pain as usual." The boy replied with a soft sigh. "I'll never understand the two of you... Anyways I assume you already have your Pokédex. Are you excited to begin your very own adventure?" Clair asked her son. "Mhmm." John simply replied to his mother causing her to give out her own sigh. "You need to be more open John. While on your travels can you at least try make a few friends?" She added. "Well I was hoping to do this alone that's why I chose not to go with Azura." He replied receiving a sharp glare from Clair. "Fine but I don't promise anything." The boy reluctantly added. "Well I suppose that's the most I'll get from you. Anyways I need to be going, but I do want you to promise me one thing." Clair stated rather seriously. "What is it now?" John asked. "Well the facts aren't all thay clear but there have been reports of strange people trying to rob trainers of their Pokémon." Clair stated. "Great just what Johto needs. Don't worry mom we'll be okay." John replied giving her one of his rare smiles. "I know you will. Oh and before I forget, Azura wanted me to tell you that she just arrived in Cherrygrove City and awaits for you to arrive so the two of you can have a battle." Clair added shooting her son a small smile. "Right then in that case I should probably get going now." John stated. "All right well be safe and more importantly have fun." Clair said. "I'll try." John replied and with that the call came to an end. "Tar! Larvitar!" Malachite eagerly squealed. "Energetic little thing aren- HEY GET BACK HERE!" In the middle of John's sentence Malachite took off down the street prompting the boy to give chase.

My Character

IC: "Lake Verity...such a beautiful place." John commented with a sigh of content as he made his way towards the waters edge. He considered himself lucky to have been able to travel the world and visit the various regions ranging from the simplicity of Kanto, the bustling cities of Unova, the lesser known Orre Region, and the large beautiful Kalos Region but to him nothing beat the beauty of Sinnoh. I just wish it could be a little more warmer. the boy thought to himself as he saw flurries of snow slowly fall to the floor and quickly adjusted his scarf as a cold snow flake slid down his neck. He could stand here for hours admiring the natural beauty of the lake, plus it gave out such a powerful sense of joy, but that wasn't why he was hear. His eyes focused on what rested in the middle of the lake, a small cavern that was said to house one of the three Lake Guardians. "I wonder if Mespirit is resting inside what I would give to see it...who knows maybe it's actually the one observing us right Belladonna?" John commented with a light laugh before turning to a small shivering blue-headed Ralts. "R-Ralts." Belladonna cooed with a slight stutter before returning a friendly smile to her trainer. "Come here you." John said as he reached down to pick Belladonna up and brought her close in order to warm her up. "Ralts." She happily called out and affectionately buried her face into his chest. John returned his attention towards the small cavern and noticed a small tell-tale shimmer hovering near the caverns entrance and it seemed to be staring back. "It can't be..." John muttered in awe. The moment however quickly came to an end as the shimmer retreated back into the cavern and the joyous atmosphere was replaced with a more uneasy feeling. "Ralts..." Belladonna nervously cooed as she quietly stared off to John's right. It took the boy a moment to realize that he was no longer the only visitor. A few feet away a man with cyan colored haired focused on where the shimmering figure once was. "...The flowing time... The expanding space... I will make it all mine one day... Cyrus is my name. Remember it... Until then, sleep while you can, legendary Pokémon of the lake bed..." The man mumbeled before turning to meet John's gaze. "Pardon me." The man added before leaving. "Well he was an odd one. I wonder what he was muttering about." John commented as he watched the man dissapear. "Ralts." Belladonna muttered in agreement. Once the man completely vanished from sight, the lake soom regained it's peaceful stature. "Well Belladonna we should probably start making our way to Sandgem Town. Camilla's expecting us to meet her in Sandgem Town any minute now. It's best to not keep her waiting any longer. We both know how she can get." John added with a light laugh. He then took one last look at the lake before he departed for Sandgem Town.

After about a 30 minute hike from Lake Verity, John had finally arrived in Sandgem Town. He took a moment to scan the area hoping to catch sight of his sister. "Hmm Camilla should be here somwhere. Perhaps she went to Professor Rowan's Lab." He thought aloud. He then began to navigate through the towns small streets and while on his way to the lab, John spotted a red-headed girl who was wandering aimlessly through town. Judging from how underdressed she was and the worried expression on her face it was quite obvious she wasn't from Sinnoh. Concerned for the girls well-being, John approached the girl and with a friendly smile asked, "Hey is everything alright?"

"That's a Johto Pokédex isn't it?" John commented as he took a moment to examine the device in the girls hand. "Oh I see. So you're visiting here from Johto aren't you? Well you're in luck I'm actually on my way to the Professor's Lab. If you would like I'd be happy to take you there." He continued.

"It's not a problem at all." John responded to the girl with a light chuckle. He did find the girls shyness to be quite endearing. Upon hearing her second statement, John returned his attention back to her and offered another soft smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you Sheena. My name's Johnathan, but my family usually calls me John." He then took a moment to gesture towards the blue-headed Ralts than stood beside him. "This here is my partner Belladonna." He added. "Ralts." The Pokémon cooed as she waved a stubby arm in greeting.

Ooc: good to see you again Frost :) everything looks good. Go ahead and start when you'd like.

"Sure thing Sheena. The lab is just a bit further that way." John responded as he gestured further down the street. As he was about to continue along, a low growl had caught his attention. He quickly spun back around and was surprised to see an unknown girl holding a Gible in her arns. With a small smile he said, "Oh it's not a problem at all."

John couldn't help but usher a small chuckle as he watched Sheena quickly seek shelter behind her small Eevee. His attention soon found it's way back to the newcomer once he heard her speak. He then took quick note of the girl: her clothes, her mismatched eyes, and her somewhat attractive features. Once she finished speaking he offered her a small nod in reply. "Sure I'd be happy to take you along as well." He said gesturing towards the girl to follow along. "My name's John by the way. What might I call you?"

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Gina." John stated to the girl as he shot her another soft smile. Standing beside him, Belladonna waved a small arm in greeting to Gina and her Gible. "So then of the two of you are ready should we get going?" The boy asked.

Ooc: The two of you are accepted. I'll post tomorrow I've been busy today.

"Alright then let's get going shall we?" John stated as he spun around on his heels and continued down the street. He then took a quick glance back at the girls and asked, "So Sheena, Gina the two of are are from Johto and Kalos right? What made the two of you decide to come all the way down here to Sinnoh?"

Ooc: Sorry for my delay.

Ic: About a few minutes after Malachite had nearly crashed into the unknown Oshawott, he had quickly become surrounded by a small group of people. "Tar..." The Pokémon growled with nervousness. He was deeply regretting running off without his trainer. Luckily though he spotted a familiar person running in his direction. "There you are Malachite. I thought I'd lost you for minute." With a light squeal, Malachite ran over to John's side and began to affectionately nuzzled him. "All right. All right I get already Jeez." The boy murmured as he tried to hold back a smile. "I hope he didn't cause any problems for you all. That's the last thing I need right now." He added as he turned to face the small group of people standing before him.

"It would appear that the three of us aren't so different after all. You see, much like my mother, I wanna travel to other regions and study the different Pokémon legends across the world." John explained. His gaze soon found it's way to Gina's Gible and John couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "He sure is quiet the character." He stated. About a few minutes later the group had arrived in front of Professor Rowan's lab. "Well here we are." John added taking a moment the prop the door open for the two girls. "After you." He continued with a gesture of his hand.
