Zero was quite ready to slaughter any imbeciles dense enough to step near the young man. Despite his guard being up at all times, Zero always kept a lax demeanor which showed 0 signals of preparedness. But all foes had made like bananas and split. The thought of sprinting bananas made him laugh aloud. Clearly, those nobodies had known better than to mess with a superior life form. And then there was also the god-like being who had appeared before them, but it was obviously Zero who had scared the bandits away.

Runnin' low on juice, the young man merely crossed his arms and glared at the being with arrogance. For Zero would love to test its power, it would be unwise to pick a fight at low power. "Glorified statue," he mumbled quietly to himself. While he felt Alvar's presence, Zero kept a firm and cold stare at the god-like creature. "What do you want?" he gave a clear retort with no intent of masking his current sentiment.

Ooc: Perhaps Zero could find Jackie as she enters? I had extremely low muse, but I'm feeling more creative again.

Ic: Zero kept a steady pace, hand grasping his blaster firmly. Morning patrol was tedious work, but neccessary in retaining peace. Zero made sure to keep his wits close and his guard up. At any moment, the silence of dawn could be shattered. His faithful slugpanion, (terrible pun, I know...) Makobreaker, let out a soft cry, attempting to say that Zero should lighten up.

A curious figure appeared in the distance which carefully advanced towards Zero from the distance. "Ay, what do we have here?" He asked his slug a rhetoric question with a low and hushed voice. "H-Hello?" the femenine-sounding speaker responded. Her form was now clear to be seen and appearance soft upon the gaze. "Who goes there?" Zero began making his way toward the stranger. For this question was made for an answer; and a swift one at that.

Ooc: Darn it, I thought I bookmarked this thread already. My mistake.
My character has a rapier and he can also conjure up Mind Blades. Does this allow him to dual wield or would that require an extra skill of sorts?

Ic: Ryan kept a fixed, upright posture that felt awkward, as he attempted to look tougher by puffing out his chest just a bit. This wasn't fooling anyone, though. Feathered hats don't exactly coincide with the "manly" image in his head. Despite what may have been imparted about Ryan, he had no intentions of letting others keep him down. He intended to succeed, for all his past training won't be for naught. "Crystal [clear], sir!"

Zero was skeptical of this unknown man. After all, who else could be lurking around this place? Raiden had previously mentioned about our group being the first explorers, but that assumption might prove to be false. The magician would try a simple mind-reading spell, but that'd use up too much energy. In order to make it last, Zero was awfully stingy when it came to "MP" consumption. A man with a dark past and deep regrets is child's play for any novice sorcerer to take advantage of. Edward had all his despair bottled up; Zero merely had to do was crack it wide open. The lowly bandit did all the work himself.

Nay, but the swordsman before Zero now was quite stable. And reading his mind only to be killed due to lack of MP didn't seem like such a good idea, either. So, he decided on a compromise: Emotion Reading. It, like the tactic used on Edward, requires a miniscule amount of effort. Canines and other beasts are especially skilled in detecting sentiment. It could potentially be trained as a Passive Skill, but Zero had more important techniques to learn than this.

Hmm, checks out alright; [He] wouldn't hurt a fly unless it took his wallet. "Very well, squire. I've taken a liking to you. Just stay out of my way and we'll juuuuust peachy!"

"Don't know?" Zero blinked carefully. "Where are you from?" The young man couldn't help but have a confused look on his face. She looked quite scared and didn't set off any trouble-making vibes. Her lack of a blaster was a bit peculiar as well. Mako, however, didn't like the way her slug growled. The slug glared back and hers, giving it an extremely grim expression.

Zero's eyes softened as she readily replied so quickly. She wouldn't hurt a fly. "Alright, pal, come with me," he replied in a low, but friendly manner. He turned his back on the lass and began walking; a subtle gesture for her to follow.

Ooc: Do you want me to type up the details of the village or are you going to?

Ooc: From what the D&D wiki says, it sounds like the Mind Blade is conjuring up a magic sword to fight with. Kind of like the "Bound Sword" spell in Skyrim. So, I'll just be going with that. And I don't have the dual wielding feat, so I'll just take the damage penalty. In my case, it would be -4 for my rapier and -8 for my Mind Blade.

How can we gain more feats?

"Act natural, kid," Zero said in a hushed voice. They didn't need any more unnecessary attention. It could mean major trouble if someone found out a surface-dweller had appeared in the underground. Why am I putting my career on the line for this girl? He sighed. Yet he couldn't live with himself throwing an innocent girl under the bus so suddenly. "Let's get you looking less... noticeable," Zero brought her to the nearest clothing store. "It's on me, don't worry about it." Mako hummed softly to himself, yet the slug felt a little uneasy by the current situation.

"There's a changing room just over there," he pointed in its direction. "I'll be here when you're ready," Zero stood leaning against the wall near the entrance. It was a rather small store with a decent amount of clothing options. Though, the duo was in a bit of a hurry to go on a long shopping spree. They needed a place to be alone and talk where walls couldn't listen. Fitting in with the crowd was the first step of losing unwanted attention.

    Ooc: Oh, sorry

Ic: Zero examined the clerk handing her a free tube and remembered that the rookie would need a blaster to duel around the underground. "Here, you'll need this as well," he said, tossing a spare blaster gently to her. He began to slowly walk out of the store. Lastly, he added a slow, "The name's Zero, bybthe way," noticing that they forgot to exchange names. Mako looked back and gave the girl a reassuring smile.
