(I AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY. Whoops, caps lock was on :D Do you have a favorite TV show, series, or anime that you watch? I really like Studio Ghibli's productions. Out of those, it's Princess Mononoke.)

Looking at the single bed in front of him, Ren realized promptly that he couldn't sleep in there with Amari-one, it was too small, and two...it was...so...embarrassing...

He blushed and looked the other direction.

"U-um, I think I'll sleep I in the living room...the couch seems pretty comfortable..." Ren said hurriedly, and ran out of the room.

He raced up the steps only to be met by a )once again) calm Zione.

"You can sleep in the living room if you must..." He sighed, and marched toward the couch. Raising his hands and quickly pushing down the other end, he transformed the couch into a foldable bed.

"Thanks...look, we can catch up tomorrow." Ren said tiredly. "It's night."

    Zione huffed.

"I...will stay up for a bit longer. I need to work on a formula for the combination of trichloroethylene and..."

By this time, Ren was already asleep.

Carefully letting out a breath, Zione glanced at the alley that was in the way of his house-it was very late. He looked around, hoping to find some other way to go, but found none. I might as well. Detours will only further weaken my resolve.

He stepped into the smaller route, instantly noticing the vile smell of garbage and alcohol. Zione looked on distastefully; he did not drink, even though his idiot classmates insisted on creating high school parties every night.

Nevertheless, he continued walking, making sure to stick to the walls in order to be less noticeable. There could easily be other, more...vicious people.

There have been reports of murder. He recalled. Even hacking into the government's database did not garner me much information.

At least I have an object worthy of self-defense.

(SAO was positively awesome. I hated episode 24, though, it was just so vulgar. DIE SUGOU *throws deadly glare* Since I don't know if you want to timeskip, I'll just focus on Zione for a bit.)

Staring into his computer screen, Zione typed a few last formulas in computer code before snapping the laptop shut. It was quite late, around midnight.

He flopped down onto his bed and pulled the covers up, but he could not sleep-insomnia had been affecting him for a week so far.

Reflecting on Ren's sudden arrival, Zione thought,

Certainly, I am happy that my only friend has visited. But that girl...it frustrates me that I cannot figure her out. I have looked through every source of information possible, and even have hacked into the goverment's database...but there is nothing about her.

Ren...I do know that he is still technically in the orphanage, but has taken a job for detective. He does that quite well, too...if my father's friend finds out...

I will assist you, but he will stop at nothing to eliminate every contender.

(Haha, we're starting to move faster ;D)

Letting out a small squeak of surprise at the completely cold thing slipped down his back, he sat up as fast as a bullet and glared at Zione, whom was wearing an amused smirk on his face.

"...still have your old habit, I see." Zione said. "Sleeping so late that the birds have already stopped chirping."

Ren raised an eyebrow, grumpily replying.

"You do too! Actually, it's gotten a bit better-you used to hit me with anything you could find on the grou-oh..."

Next to Zione's feet was a small, empty bucket reeking of nothing. Zione had dumped water on him.

"SCRATCH THAT! YOU'RE STILL AS ANNOYING AS YOU WERE BEFORE!!" Ren yelled, stomping toward Amari's room in childlike fury.

Chuckling to himself, Zione mopped up the mess that he had made and began cooking something for them to eat.

(Ooh, cool fancypost. This is my only fancypost. Random: I'm obsessed with Magnet-Kagamine twins version and have played it foraround ten times already. Nonstop. I love Len, but Rin sings Meltdown better than he does. Len sounds like a horn when he does it. I totally hate the benzene chronicles. The Evil Series is awesome. I'm obsessed with Vocaloid. Stop me in my rant before I explode.)

Ren knocked softly on the door, asking,

    "Amari? May I come in?"

He wondered if she had been doing something before, even if it was completely irrational.

(Sorry, not sure what else to post.)

(I don't like using my fancypost all the time, though, because I think it's tedious to always put what you want to say in the boxes unless it's more efficient. Yours is, but mine's just...for show, I guess.)

Pushing the door open, he stepped inside before quickly realizing that he had a bedhead and had forgotten to fix it. Now silently thanking Zione for all of the water poured down his body, he smoothed his hair flat before speaking, a little self-conscious.

"Good morning..." Ren smiled at Amari. "Did you sleep well, or manage to...?"

He looked at Amari's position at the edge of the bed, and frowned.

"Inanimate objects...they won't hurt you. If we're staying here for today, you can sleep on the center, alright?"

(Honestly, I don't know much about shops, fresh kill, or anything involving buying/selling here, because I only roleplay on the sub-boards. But I'll see...)

Absentmindedly thinking about Amari's words, he didn't react until a few seconds had passed. Flustered, he quickly replied.

"Um...you know...it was okay." He said. "Routine."

Hearing Amari giggle somewhat after spotting his bedhead, he reddened and combed it hurriedly a little more before waving at her, saying,

"Um, I need to report to my superiors...um...so...bye!"

He zoomed toward the living room, Zione watching him flee the scene, no doubt with some stupid excuse.

"Ren, you should not bother cowering from your affections." His face was completely passive, but there was a note of light humor as he said the next sentence.

"Are you not staying for breakfast? Or would you like to eat-"

Ren raced away like a frightened rabbit, flinging the doors open and holding his ears.

"Do not worry. He will be back soon. That is exactly how emotional my long-lost friend is." He projected his voice so it could clearly reach the girl.

(Ah, okay :D Changing the subject, do you enjoy debating? I do, especially the thing about 'Is homework necessary or unnecessary?' debate.)

After ten minutes, Ren returned, looking a little out-of-breath.

"They just gave me a week off...for no good reason!" He yelled. Without turning around, Zione said, in a matter-of-fact voice,

"That is not of my concern."

    Ren sighed.

"Couldn't you be a bit more understanding?'

    "No."

Shaking his head, he returned to Amari's temporary room, all too aware that his panicked run might have caused her worry.

"Yes...um...my superiors gave me a week off...for no reason..." Ren mumbled.

(I understand :D I don't mind debating anywhere. I suddenly have a little inner voice telling me to put in some humor for some reason....)

Watching Amari walk out of the room, Ren replied halfheartedly.

    "I suppose..."

He followed her out into the living room, and saw Zione setting the table with breakfast.

"I have never seen such a slug." He said, smirking. Ren's eyebrows rose.

"How, pray tell, am I such a 'slug'?" Ren replied, mimicking Zione's manner of speech.

"Assuming that you performed a lap around the town just to avoid further embarrassment and returned twn minutes later, I am quite sure that this garners your title."

Shaking his head, he sighed and sat down in a chair. He noticed that Amari wasn't wearing her hood and was showing one of her eyes. From the way that Zione quirked his brow, he was sure that his friend had noticed too.

"Interesting color. We are the odd ones out, are we not?" Zione murmured. "I think we should get ourselves acquainted. I am Zione. What are you called?"

Not even twitching at her sudden appearance, he evenly replied,

"I would not. But would you say that there is any reason to give information?" His knife was clutched securely in his left hand, not in any threatening position but still very dangerous.

She is the presumed psychopath that every person has been gossiping about. There is no doubt...

    (Slimy slug indeed. :D)

"Apology accepted. I am glad to make your acquaintance, Amari." Zione replied evenly. Using his peripheral vision, he could see Ren's face turn red in response to the newly named Amari's color flood. He laughed softly, his mouth sprouting another smirk.

"H-hey...don't you ever smile for real?" Ren asked indifferently, trying to turn the conversation away from dangerous grounds. The smirk grew.

"No." Zione somehow managed to make this sound cheerful. He sat down with the two others and sighed.

"All of this trouble and you will not eat...I wonder if I should have used the ingredients as a component of my father's experiment. Did you know that I managed to restore it?"

Ren's face grew a little paler, but still retained its flush.

"N-no...! COME ON!! ARE YOU GOING TO DESTROY YOUR OWN HOUSE?!"

    "It is perfectly harmless...so far."

"Argh." His friend's voice emitted useless displeasure.

(STUPID HOMEWORK. I HAVE A PROJECT. A SOCIAL STUDIES ONE. EXCUSE ME FOR TYPING IN CAPS)

Instantly noticing the way that Amari turned away from them, Ren tried to reassure her.

"Hey, you're our friend too...besides, it's not like we're in love with each other. Just in that best-friend way." He said quietly.

When Zione replied to Ren's explanation, there was a maniacal glint in his eye. The glint of a mad-scientist on the way to world domination.

"Unless you would like me to create a love potion? And it's surely not for us, oh no..." He said slyly. Ren flushed pink, and sneaking a quick glance at Amari, quickly whispered something into his friend's ear.

"Don't you reveal that!" He hissed. "She's...she's...not...."

    Shaking his head, Zione smirked.

"Now, are either of you going to eat your breakfast or shall I just make a combustible material with it?"

"I am about to," He sighed. "Where are you going? Out for a...nighttime walk?" His tone was extremely dry, as if he did not believe a single word he was saying. "To repeat what I said earlier, will you answer my question if I answer yours? And yes, I believe I have just asked a question, but I did not intend this as the actual one."

(Haha, I believe that Ren is mimicking her. Just a bit more slowly. What about food? What's your favorite food? I don't really have one, but I prefer watermelon, oranges, and peaches. All fruits ;D)

"You do know that you can sit on this table, right?" Zione sighed. Ren glared at him for half a second before getting off of his chair and sitting next to Amari, whispering loudly enough for Zione to hear.

"Don't mind him. He's just pretending to be the ruler of the world." He kept his tone extremely sarcastic. "But you can join us. Really..."

"Are you sure you don't mean that in another way?" Came a voice from the table. You know what happened to Ren's face.

"N-no. I don't." He muttered. "If you'll excuse me, I'll go no-" Ren's arm was grabbed by an evilly-grinning Zione.

"I believe I did not excuse you." He said slowly, as if talking to a naughty child. Ren groaned and tried to wriggle out of the embarrassing situation, but only succeeded in awkwardly landing on Amari.

The only thing he was thinking was, Good thing I'm not that heavy...

Then his face turned redder as the next thoughts entered his head.

"Boy, are you-" Zione mumbled, but Ren had already blocked out his next words.
