Poppydapple stepped back and Topazpaw's eyes widened when she saw Leafdapple.

She purred happily, but she suddenly heard thunder rumble.
Spotflower stood up. "A storm is coming." she whispered to Blackpelt.

The two cats rushed into the warrors den and Spotflower shook herself dry.
"Brr," she meowed and sat down in her nest again.

Dapplepelt was quiet as she sat by herself in the nursery. Suddenly out of nowhere, a loud lightning bolt lights up the camp.
"Dapplepelt!" cried her mate, Brackentail, we're getting you out. The nursery is on fire!"
"What," she gasped.
She could feel her unborn kits wiggling as Brackentail and the other cats tried to dig their way through the wall. The nursery was burning up and getting hooter every heartbeat. She knew she was going to die.

Dapplepelt blinked open her eyes. She could feel the warmth of the sun on her face. Taking in a deep breath, she realized she was in StarClan.
Suddenly her thoughts wandered to Brackentail and her future kits.
If she was in StarClan, she died and left her mate in ThunderClan. She could see him in the forest, probably on a patrol. Looking down at her stomach, she realized her kits were alive and well, it made her feel a bit happier.

Poppydapple paused to lick some ruffled fur on her chest.

Obediently Topazpaw took a step back and crouched down, staring straight ahead. She sniffed the air and caught the tang of vole. Stealthily, she crept forward and leaped, landing on the vole and swiftly killing it.
"I did it!" she exclaimed and brought it over to Leafdapple.

"I don't know," she replied. "How about we ask to go look for any cat who might know something about Pebblekit's killer. Maybe we can find a scent trail. Whatever it is, we have to help Crystalcloud."

Poppydapple didn't wait for Rosefur to speak.
"It's the Windclaw!" she shrieked. "Hurry!"
They ran past ShadowClan territory and the abandoned Twoleg nest.

Panting, they finally made it back to their territory.
"We're safe," Poppydapple meowed when they reached the place where they were sheltering. "That was close."
