Ali decided to explore the trails. She picked up her tack and grooming box and hauled it to Wish's stall. She glanced at Wish and saw that she would only need a light brushing. Ali grabbed Wish's hot pink halter and sparkly purple lead rope. She led Wish to crossties and started brushing her. When she was done brushing, she grabbed a hoof pick and cleaned Wish's hooves. When she was done with that, she grabbed a comb and started to comb Wish's mane.

"No, we have plenty of prey. If only they could see how good a hunter you were. I'm sure you'd be welcome to join then," she meowed slyly, a plan forming in her mind.

Morningsong glared at Featherkit, Moonkit, Dreamkit, and Doekit. "You're confined to the nursery for four sunrises," she meowed angrily. "What were you thinking?" she said shaking her head. She herded them back to camp and went to talk to the leader, her tail flicking with annoyance.

Cloudpelt decided to go hunting alone. She headed out of camp and decided to explore. She walked outside the territory for a little until she came to some cliffs. There was one rock about two tail-lengths high that jutted out. She bunched her muscles and leaped with ease onto it. She sat with the breeze whistling through her pelt. This can be my secret place she thought.

The kits charged out of the nursery, led by Wildkit. They were followed more slowly by Oceanbreeze and Sweetbriar who went to doze in the sun. Wildkit leaped up a tall rock. "I am Wildstar," she announced. "It is time for the makings of new warriors. I give you Willoweyes, Amberpelt, Stagnose, and she paused, trying to think of a name. She had a soft spot for her sweet-hearted sister, Starkit. And Starlight," she announced. "I don't like the name, Stagnose," Stagkit protested. "Well to bad," Wildkit responded. "The new deputy will be Willoweyes." "Alright, Starlight, lead a hunting patrol, take Amberpelt and Stagnose. Wildstar and I will go on hunting patrol," Willowkit squeaked. Wildkit stuck her nose in the air as if acting better than the other kits. She turned ad started walking and ran right into Indigoheart, the PurpleClan deputy. She started to back nervously away, scared of speaking to the clan deputy. Wishheart purred with amusement when she saw energetic, outgoing Wildkit backing away from the clan deputy.

Daisykit and Deerkit had meanwhile been planning their own attack. They leaped clumsily onto Doekit and Maplekit. "Get of our territory, DoeKIT," Daisykit hissed as menacingly as she could. Nearby, Deerkit was pinning Maplekit down.

"I give you a life for leadership," she meowed. "Use it well to guide your clan." She stepped back to join the other eight cats who had given Sandshell lives.
