Ridley frowned, her lips pursing slightly. She couldn't find any form of shelter, and that was a very bad thing. If she was caught in a storm, she would be weakened for days. Which meant that the task her father sent her to do wouldn't be finished on time, which would result in either a whipping, a public shaming, or something she'd rather not think about. It had never happened to her because she usually did everything with perfect ease, but she had heard stories of other demonesses having to go through it, and it was not good. She didn't think her father would resort to something so vile for an assassination running late...but her father sometimes surprised her. He could be loving one moment, then ready to slit her throat another. It surely didn't help that her father was second-in-command of the Demon's order, meaning that if she merely set a pinky toe out of line, she could be severely punished.

Ridley followed with uncertainty, still glancing back every so often. Soon, they approached a river, their paws sloshing along the bank. "There should be Water Mint here..." Barleymoon muttered.

Diana stroked the white tree happily, standing under its knarled branches in wait. Staring upward, she assessed the speed of the storm. It was moving very fast, and yet another smile spread across her porcelain face. She loved rain. Was obssessed with it to some extent. She knew that her mother was powerful enough to control weather, and she someday hoped that she would be able to do that as well. She also wished to get out of these damned mountains. She didn't want to be a shadow any longer. She wished to fight demons. Exterminate them for the sake of mankind. She knew that she would someday become that. Just not yet...

Ridley was now sprinting across the plain. She had to get to cover, and fast. Seeing that there was nothing for many miles, she did what she dreaded most: turning into her demon form. She looked up and tasted the air, her senses telling her that rain was very close by. Thinking quickly, the fiery dog demon began to dig. Faster and faster she dug until her paws felt like they were going to fall off. The female half-demon then quickly dove in, digging upward and forming sa small shelf for her to sit on so she wouldn't get wet. She transformed back to her human form, climbing out and weaving the grasses into a small mat that she laid on top of the hole. She knew it wouldn't do much, but it was something. She climbed back into her den just as thunder cracked and rain began pouring down in heavy sheets.
